  2. See, I can somewhat understand why Ogawa prefers to use little eddie rather than buttons. In general it's safer, since being wrong about sending little eddie out usually only ends with having to play defensively for a bit, while being wrong about a button can be disastrous. It's this kind of risk-reward decision making that I think is what is going on. In addition, remember that Zato's buttons aren't as strong as they once were. His j.K is nowhere the hitbox it was in Reload, being closer to his slash variation. His flight mode is slower than it once was, making it more at risk and controlling less space. His other amazing buttons such as 6P, 2H, or 6H are all slow and can be destroyed on whiff without little eddie threatening the opponent. Obviously this isn't saying "only ever rely on little eddie", as like you said, his specials and the YRC system work in a way to make getting him out riskier than in previous versions; hence the new drill summon mechanic. But I think this highlights what I was saying: how every character in GG can be played in multiple ways. Ogawa's play isn't perfect, and yes situations will come up where his decision making wasn't right. But, ultimately, he's the best there is right now.
  3. Ogawa's played Reload, Slash, AC, and Xrd, won numerous SBO tournaments, and literally had to stop playing because people would not play against him in arcades. His win rate is over 90% and even with his (apparent) scarce amount of playtime compared to others, he's still reached 15th dan. Look, obviously Ogawa is a great player. You'd have to be an enormous idiot to think otherwise. But making the claim "he's playing Zato wrong" is still a HUGE claim. Especially in a game like Guilty Gear where every character has a multitude of different styles to be played in; there's rarely one optimal archetype for a character to always be played like. That's what I want to see. Evidence, match footage, points where you can say "Ogawa did this wrong, and that's why I think he needs to alter the way he plays." Because right now you're making a claim that the best Zato player, period, doesn't know how to play Zato. His 90% win rate is because other players don't know the matchup or whatever. And you've never even played Xrd! Yet you know "how" Zato should be played in this revision? You have more insight and experience than the best Zato player in the world? You can't expect me to believe that. That doesn't make sense. Make it make sense. That's why Zidane was asking for Ogawa videos; he wanted you to prove your point. You haven't done anything other than state it so far.

  10. I've tested in a real match, and unfortunately the AI Dummy lies to you. It's rather easy to mash back tech out of really Use record/playback to hold back and mash a button to back tech and you'll see what I mean. I feel like this was something they wanted to actually be /a thing/ but couldn't force each hit to be untechable.
  11. Abare and fuzzies. If Kliff touches you he can make it HURT, especially if he has corner + meter. 70% damage combos are not unreasonable in those situations. In addition, he can use his jumping normals to play a spacing/fuzzy guard game and really be a threat to characters that can't deal with it. However, his speed is very slow, he's very floaty, has no reliable reversals, gets stunned very easily, and while his normals are HUGE they're also very slow. Properly fighting Kliff involves a lot of whiff punishing and playing a solid ground game against his jumps. Kliff only needs one chance to win a round, but most characters can kill him before he even gets that. Summed up: his damage is insane, mixup predictable but scary (due to his reward off of it), neutral game is terrible.
  12. Pretty sure that's what we were testing actually. Wanted to see how often Jam's jS could beat HOS's jP. Came to a conclusion that even if Jam gets underneath HOS (which is hard cause of his low jump), if he's mashing jP it's still hard to get through it.

  15. Pretty much the only generally accepted feelings I've heard on that tier list is that Testament and Potemkin are stronger than they appear on that tier list. That tier list is from the last ArcRevo and a LOT of tech was found for both of them since then so it makes a lot of sense.

  17. Chipp has literally every tool a fighting game character could have; except defense. He's much like 3S Akuma: very strong but needs to be played at the absolute highest level for results. He's just a lot of work to play well so not many players play him to the point to do really well in tournaments. As for the others; Kliff does one thing. He does it VERY well, but as long as you can play around and counter that one thing, you can beat him. Sol didn't change much from AC, and is pretty basic overall. His biggest change was Special Fafnir instead of FB Fafnir, which doesn't give him much. I-No's always had weaknesses, but this was the first game where she wasn't outright bad. She still has her issues of her double-edged sword (her dash) and her reliance on meter and execution.
  18. Trishula is invincible to projectiles iirc and also puts Potemkin into a low profile state. He can do it as a meaty against Ky and make Vapor Thrust whiff.

  20. Whether you're knocked face down or face up depends on how you were knocked down. Being swept, like from 2D, knocks you down face first. Being sent flying like from Jam's puffball knocks you down face up. The characters that don't have unique down animations still use both these values, you just have to pay attention to how you knocked them down to know which it is.

  25. 6H into 6P isn't a cancel, it's a link. You need to wait for 6H to recover completely before you input the 6P. Think of it like playing Street Fighter, or Slayer. If you do 6H xx 6P and not getting a 6P to come out at all, you're hitting 6P too early. If you get a 6P, but the combo counter resets, you're doing it too late.
