  1. Hey, Pikdum. Super stoked to see that you have a bustling community in your area of Florida. I am moving down to Orlando over the summer to start my graduate work and despite my best efforts, I cannot seem to find a forum or site that has recent activity for the Florida scene (this is the most recent post that I have seen). While Winter Park is a long way from Spring Hill, I am totally willing to commute there in order to play some casuals and get to know the rest of the Florida scene. Do you guys do monthly get-togethers or something similar? Keep-on-keepin'-on, man! The FGC needs more people like you!
  2. Hello, Florida. I am moving to Orlando soon for my graduate work. Are there weekly/biweekly/monthly meetings for Blazblue and Xrd? Not leveling up playing online (dat Wi-fi high five) XD
  3. You're from Ithaca, eh? I grew up there, but now live in Michigan. Hit me up on either XBL or PSN and we'll play some matches. The games that I focus on are in my quote below (fair warning: I haven't played Guilty Gear in a long time and I'm pretty awful at it.) Hope to hear from you!
  4. That's a move that I do not use very often because I seem to whiff it at the worse time and because the recovery is so terrible, I get hit and get carried into the corner. I'll have to just wait for the best time to use it, I guess.
  5. Oh, okay. If only I lived closer to Redford! I would totally be down to come and play some casuals, but I live up in the Thumb and I don't have a car. Oh well. Just have to keep being an online warrior.
  6. Is it like Yun's divekick in Street Fighter where she can delay the timing until its lower to the ground? I should probably go into training mode with her just so I can learn her buttons. I pretty much never switch characters and focus exclusively on Hyde in order to better learn each matchup he has in its entirety (hence, my moaning about the top-tiers. )
  7. Out of curiosity, do you think that Hyde stands a chance against the top-tier characters? In my experience, Hyde struggles mightily against the top-three (in my opinion: Gordeau, Merkava, and Waldstein). Whenever I play against any of the three, Hyde just cannot get his neutral game going (which is frankly pretty weak in comparison to the Top-Tier Trio). Against Merkava, nothing I do is safe at any range because Merkava can simply react with full-screen command grabs or full-screen supers that tag Hyde out of anything he does. Gordeau can just sit back and 5C for days and if I get to close, he simply slides and blows up anything I try to do on the ground. Waldstein is perhaps the best match for Hyde out of the three, provided you are disciplined enough to play patiently, but even then, Waldstein can simply use his long-reaching normals and stop Hyde from doing anything. Whenever I try to throw fireballs at Waldstein, he seems to stuff me before they even come out and convert that counter-hit into stupid amounts of damage. I guess that's my fault for playing a character that doesn't have as many strong options as the top-tiers and I certainly do have anyone to blame but myself if I keep getting hit by the same stuff over and over again.
  8. Where is the Chronohouse? Is it in Detroit?
  9. I don't know why, but I get bodied by Linne all day long. Her normals are just so much faster than Hyde's and in addition to that, her divekicks are so hard to react to if she "safe-jump assaults" behind Hyde after a knockdown and then has high low with 2A, instant-air j.C/assault C, tick-throw set-ups, or other goofy stuff. The rest of the list I completely agree with, however. Merkava gives every character a hard time, but Hyde is especially vulnerable to Merk because all of the options that Hyde *may* have in normal play gets shutdown by Merk's noodle arms. I'm kind of surprised you didn't discuss Gordeau in Hyde's match-ups. That is another match-up that is particularly awful, in my humble opinion. Jump-in shielding is an option for Hyde to approach Gordeau, but considering the frame advantage that Gordeau enjoys on his ridiculously-large normals, I always seem to get punished with GRD breaks when I land or just having to deal with Gordeau's dumb standing/crouching mix-ups. Of course, I haven't been playing the game for very long and my match-up knowledge is pretty limited. However, just from watching top Hyde players, it seems to me that they play even more cautiously than they do against Merkava (again, though, that's just my perception.)
  10. I'll have to check that out. I'm kind of new to the community - kind of - and I just got into UNIEL a couple of months ago. I watched the UNIEL tournament at EVO, though. Your Hyde was really godlike, dude. You play the character much more methodically than I do; I just go in and get bopped because Hyde is really weak standing toe-to-toe with the majority of the cast. At any rate, it was fun to watch you bop Vatista! Keep Red-Clad Carvin'!
  11. Are any Michigan casuals or tournaments still going on? Not leveling up my game playing online or grinding in practice mode... Halp! ......kupo.
