That's nice and all, but it's pretty much proven to not be the case at this point.

I think relevance to the plot doesn't matter in the slightest when it comes to who will be playable in the future. My evidence for that would be Answer, who Daisuke chose as one of two new characters in Rev 2 despite being less relevant than even Randy. I remember from an interview that Daisuke wants Robo-Ky playable, and in the very recent interview on Shoryuken he declared that Bridget is the number one wanted character in Japan at the moment. So I think these two seem relatively likely for next returning characters. As for new characters, it's a complete free for all. So many characters that might make it playable, and as Answer showed this is completely unpredictable. Sadly, I'm guessing the majority of characters (both veterans and new ones) will be left behind.

Thanks for clarifying that. Honestly, adding a dub to this game would just be salt to the wound for me. Central Fiction is the game where a dub would've mattered to me.

Ciel looks pretty cool. Her weapon looks like a Duel Disc or something.

I like Haehyun for a number of reasons. For one, I like badass old dudes as well as big characters, and Haehyun happens to be both. I like that the gameplay is simple but with twists. The kickloops are the most fun I've ever had with difficult combos, and the oki is a lot of fun to pull off.

Nothing about what Aegis did was wrong or being an ass. There is no concrete evidence for Baiken being 100 years old, so claiming it as a fact was wrong. Blade pointed towards some pretty good stuff in the Guilty Gear canon that supports what he now admitted to be a theory, and we can leave this behind now. Way too many pages of "Is it canon?" "Kinda." "No, is it canon?" "Some of it is." I think we all got that there is no source that states "Baiken is 100 years old", but she definitely is older than she looks. We can believe what we want to for now and leave this behind please.

Best bit of Guilty Gear story to me. I didn't want it to stop.

I agree that they don't fight for no reason, but honestly that's pretty much because they don't fight against each other at all (Bedman excluded). They only fight against NPCs in the story. The issue isn't really about characters lacking motivation, what they are lacking is interesting and unique motivation. What rivalries even exist in the playable cast right now? They're all on the same side. I still find the story and characters very enjoyable, but that is a huge flaw to me.

I like all the characters and I think the story is presented in a really cool way. But sadly, I agree that in a Fighting Game, it's weird for all the characters to become friends/family like that. There should really be reasons for the individual characters to clash. If someone preaches about emotions and motivations, it should be something interesting like 2cave's speech instead of something overused like 'bonds'.

I mean, I like the song a lot, but I really don't know what to think of the lyrics. Maybe I'm not seeing something very deep and clever here, but the lyrics seem horrible.

Love the lyrics to Break a Spell (even if I also believe there is a discrepancy with the chorus) but what are those lyrics to N.S.F.W.? I don't even want to read that again.

Same experience. I do still love the games and thus will keep on playing them, even if they do show some unappealing mannerisms like this once in a while.

Wow, so we can see portraits of characters from behind now? Was that known? This seems like it could have been inspired by Xblaze. That's a pleasant surprise.

My problem is: don't they need that profit to invest in a dub for DLC/an Extend edition? Despite that, I don't think it's the publisher's fault, as they are not the ones localizing (in this case).

I don't even know what the best course of action would be in order to increase the chances of a future dub. Should one refuse to buy the game to show the significance of this feature? Should one buy the game to show that the demand is high and that it's worth it to invest in this feature? I know I won't be able to enjoy the game even half as much as I would otherwise. I'm already missing David Vincent and DC Douglas. It's also sad for all the ones that didn't even get their chance to shine during gameplay (Hibiki's, Nine's, Izanami's, Mai's voice actors).

I'm pretty sure those are some of their story mode artworks, and having them as character select photos would be very inconsistent.

What a fantastic read. Now that I know that Hifumi and Sin are voiced by the same person, I'm imagining Sin shouting stuff like "I am the Omega!" in a silly voice. But I think a lot of the problems of Sign's dub became clear in that interview.

I'd say Azrael with Bullet's shorts is even better, though. Sadly, I think that Litchi's victims were always new characters, so I think Nine/Izanami/Es have the highest chances. The best we could get in that case is them wearing Azrael's outfit, which isn't all that satisfying. Azrael wearing Mai's new clothes though, that's where it's at.

That is GREAT news. Just watched some of it at AnimEVO, it was fun. (PS4 would have been even better than Steam though)
