  1. hmm i would like to play mahjong with max... lol
  2. Stay hype, the venue is still happening. Sorry for my recent absence and the lack of updates. The venue is at Hayward and the area we're using is in a commercial complex so there will be ample parking. The address is 30997 Huntwood Ave #108, Hayward, CA. There will be prereg for a guest list and I'll construct a system for it or handle it manually but no one's getting paid to sit at the door all day and we will be closing the doors at 40 people so I stress that people show up early... the venue fee will be $4 and after 2pm it'll be $5 and you might have to call someone to get in. Of course we'll still be open to people who don't prereg provided that we have enough space. About the cab, sorry but we weren't able to find the GD-ROM for sale, maybe for next ranbat if we have it at Hayward again. For now we'll put 3S on the Astro City, free play. I haven't had the chance to inspect the venue due to some unforeseen circumstances that happened when I went to visit on Sunday so I'll go again next weekend to find out what the situation exactly is but I think the primary concern will be extension cards. We will have plenty of chairs and there should be enough table space. I'm thinking we'll open the venue at 12, maybe 11 (or at least we'll be there to setup and take venue fees manually), still more to work out. Anyways I am leaving for Burnt Toast in a couple of hours so there will be more details to come!
  3. I'm still waiting for a response from our benefactor and I will be taking off tomorrow for Burnt Toast 2. Sit tight.
  4. so console runs at 64fps? wat. i've never heard of that before, good to know
  5. yeah this is just gonna be an additional setup, no strings attached besides the 25c. if there's enough interest to have it at the ranbat, it will be purchased and setup for the event.
  6. i need serious responses for this to actually happen but i understand how people feel about paying to play at a ranbat
  7. now it's becoming an even bigger thing despite colliding with WCW2, we're probably going to have this on April 3 anyways unless an alternative is provided... it seems that none of us who participate in Norcal Install are going to WCW2. also if we were to move this to Apr 10, we would then collide with the 2v2 BBCS @SVGL.
  8. you should come anyways if things go well this could become a regular thing :D
  9. update. we may have a head-to-head GGAC astro city cab with sanwa for the venue as long as people are willing to pop in 25c a play.
  10. I have secured a venue for the next ranbat, here are the details so far. There will be more to come. Also are we set for April 3 or are we going to have to reschedule because of WCW2? Where: Hayward (details later) What we will have: photographer (amateur with nice equip) flyers, logo (can I get some ideas?) shirts & stickers (free prizes for top3) bbq (rain or shine) 3s (astro cab) 30+ chairs 1 tv and slim ps2 already at the venue room for 40 people internet (should be suitable for streaming, hopefully) Conditions: a venue fee (undecided but not more than $5) prereg (we will close the doors at 40 people, front door reg will be avail) I understand that a lot of this is mad luxury but the party hosting for us also wants to promote their services and build up cred.
  11. Not counting anyone who didn't participate, it seemed that we had 33 people with GGAC+MBAA. Also, you've listed Snozz twice and I don't think you need imaginary points anymore for seeding.
  12. Time to start planning for the next Norcal Install? The current problem is that the first Saturday of April collides with WCW in Socal but we aren't running any games they're running, just that some of Norcal might go down for it. If people aren't planning to go to WCW, then we don't have to consider rescheduling. Also we need a venue for April and right now [EDIT] we don't have one.
  13. darn aj is kind of far dont worry ill toki teleport EDIT: wow why doesnt the dumbarton express run on weekends sheesh EDIT^2: according to wikipedia dumbarton is free going eastbound
  14. who shall i carpool with i can caltrain/vta to anywhere
  15. wired is fine. if wi-fi is needed we could bring our own router but i don't think we need people potentially lagging our stream
  16. We are hoping for 40 (unlikely but going a bit over 30 is possible) :D uhm. backup venue anyone?
  17. We are expecting around 30 people.
  18. yeah i was thinking about that to make the commute easier just been lazy to post :O
  19. We will have at least 2 MBAA setups (Tsubasa and YAT). Although I'd rather not, I am willing to bring my TV as long as I can get a ride from and to the venue.
  20. As long as you're using a US version of GGAC, I don't think it should matter. (early JP version has double clean hit Sol sidewinder bug)
  21. For MBAA setups, Tsubasa posted on Meltybread that he would be bringing the one he brought last time, so we have one full setup for MBAA confirmed right now. I should state that yes we will need at least one more TV than last time since that big JVC TV was Derrick's. Also the GGAC tourny at SJSU will be on their cab with American sticks... and wow $10 per game is a lot.
  22. amazon got all your needs on lockdown and with free shipping
  23. Finding a copy of GGAC should be pretty cheap and the most it should be is like $20 right?
  24. uhh yeah you should get GGAC. it's for the PS2.
  25. You can only learn so much by yourself. How are you going to learn if you don't come to class?
