  1. highlights for discussion. discuss.
  2. can i get a ride :O
  3. you know at the last burnt toast there weren't any fucking setups!!! 1 for GG and 2 for MB so. you should bring your CRT anyways. it can't hurt!
  4. no one there??? you guys had a full 32 man bracket last time and scott capped it so that more people couldn't enter. i fail to see why we need to coordinate our events around other tournaments. all it means for us is that our top players that can afford travel won't be there for their local event and instead they will be representing us at another event. if they do well then they may even create incentive for other players to come visit us. nci is something that has always been the first saturday of every month and changing the date is something that inconveniences several people.
  5. thats ok i guess it just means we may miss out on getting ourselves streamed on ipw? we can still have our own stream and i dont see why we should coordinate our tournament around other tournaments
  6. there were problems with the NCI ranbat at berkeley aka BB TAKING TOO LONG and MB FINALS GETTING DELAYED FOR A FEW HOURS (not the first time this has happened btw but whatever) EXHIBITION MATCHES SHOULD BE AFTER ALL TOURNAMENTS FINISH etc but i digress... yo i didnt hear anything about these backup CRTs at SJSU. we could have used those. also this time melty blood only got 7 people where it usually gets at least 12 but whatever although the emotion behind john korea's words may be unwarranted, he is giving criticism that shouldn't be ignored regardless of how it was presented on the topic of next nci, jake presented the idea of having tournament setups in one room and casuals in the other. i think this idea has some merits to it but ultimately it needs to be given some more thought so we can weigh out all the pros and cons
  7. full len trix for shiningaquas http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PiJ9QFTHRBU http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MwWkJF5jtjw
  8. there is some dude on meltybread asking if anyone plays melty blood at uc davis...
  9. im down for having them for gg and mb =D
  10. i think random 2v2s are good
  11. i have moved the snrduo wiki to a real web server (instead of running it out of my closet) please update your bookmarks to http://cubskirt.net/wiki/ also i don't remember my srk login and i'm too lazy to fish it out so if someone could update the thread over there and god knows where else sarsapari posted it, please do.
  12. outside of universal mechanics, len doesn't have any decent reversals unique to her you can try looking for videos or hit up the japanese wiki ie http://wikiwiki.jp/mb_len/?%A5%B3%A5%F3%A5%DC%28AA%29%2F%A5%D5%A5%EB no one plays her but full len should be pretty straightforward since it's a full moon char, no reverse beat and the problem is probably that full len is bad (has a really hard time getting people in the corner where she's actually good) she seems alright in cc though since the screen is significantly smaller (slightly bigger than mbac) and her dash is really improved
  13. i got mixed up tenkai will forever be the only sean in my heart <3 its bb town all up in this dustloop ; ;
  14. TKs are easy in melty blood anyways but having a hj8 now makes it a little annoying to TK 22 motions (use 282 instead)
  15. every nci i go to, there are usually people telling me 'hey you need to teach me this melty blood game sometime' but they generally don't take any more initiative than that. anyways this is for those people and some new people who showed more interest than usual and even sat down to play the game and received coaching from us regulars. taken from meltybread.
  16. thank you jake. yes, the cs club deserves the utmost respect. not just chun because he doesn't have the authority to run this all by himself. who do you think you are? if you think you are entitled to this and that you guys deserve this, you are very very wrong. the sjsu cs club is an amazing venue.
  17. yeah. personally i don't care about new people as i have very low expectations of new players and the scene is very stagnant now. fighting games are something that take serious time and dedication to learn. but when someone new enters, it means something. when they enter again next month, they get even more respect. i hope to see more people enter gg and mb. if you see an asian guy playing jam, that's me.
  18. yes gg and mb are ranbats as well also yes i agree i hate it when someone is yelling at me while im playing my tournament matches
  19. I concur but if the venue isn't available on that day, then we really have no choice there. Chun has mentioned that the venue may not be available on Nov 6. @OrionXElite and @Chun: SoCal Regionals is also on that weekend.
  20. what does semi-annual mean? pretty much means annual? and what is this part on the right? in any case i'll give this some more thought before i say anything more (i need to do my homework)
  21. i heard this ballroom rivals evo's... i feel that this accommodation is much too large (and expensive) for our needs.
  22. personally i dont like octagonals (it feels too weird to do IADs and DPs) and it's not the standard in JP arcades so i will never bother most people choose octagonals since they find it easier to do DPs on (having a corner there for the down motion helps) or they have to do a lot of 360 motions ie ino's horizontal chemical love
