  1. And at the same time, I have no inclination to play any of the other characters, as none of them are technically interesting to me. I started playing the game less and less when some of the people who came into the local scene for BlazBlue started learning Guilty Gear, and a couple months ago I stopped playing the game entirely. I'm still hopeful for BlazBlue 3, though. System changes might make the game actually fun again, and I think Relius might be a pretty cool character.

  2. I think CS is a worse game than CT. I disagree with a lot of the system changes, particularly the replacement of guard libra with guard primer. It represents a wide shift in the gameplay away from how I want to play the game; without guard crush being any sort of looming threat, and with throws being very weak tools for breaking defense (except for Bang), CS has become much more defensive than CT. Carl, too, is more defensive in many ways; when I get pressure and start comboing with Carl in CS, because Ada takes so much meter to do her stuff, you have to arbitrarily stop what you're doing and play defensively for awhile. As I am generally a very aggressive player, it just feels wrong and unfun to play CS.

  3. I actually don't play CS anymore. At some point I became disillusioned with the game. I'm waiting for the third game.

  4. On Venom's frame data page, the return to character select link still links to the old page (http://www.dustloop.com/data/ac/select.html) instead of the new one (http://www.dustloop.com/guides/ggac/data/ac/select.html). Venom's 2K has its guard listed as HF when it is pretty clearly supposed to be LF. Note 2 reads *2: If Hit balls created by these moves collide with other moving balls, the ball stack. (normally colliding balls split directions) when it should actually read *2: If Hit balls created by these moves collide with other balls, they stick in place. Balls struck by these balls move the same direction as the ball that hit them (normally they ricochet off in other directions) and gain the same stick-on-hitting-ball property.
  5. Can't make august, september's more appealing than october though But, it's worth noting that the penny arcade expo is Sept 3-5.
  6. Only in the sense that if I had it I could replace the art with more tasteful art and then give it back to you

  7. Hey Zong As a sensitive young woman, I found your stick art to be in very poor taste. I was going to try to chat you up at Evo at one point but then I saw your stick art and didn't. :(

  8. Shouts out to the following people: StrayInu and ShoMeYaMoves for letting me room with them AND being super chill. Blind matches will never die. Dacidbro for accepting me as the official Queen of GameFAQs. It's a good thing there was a section of the hotel for conducting weddings. ZONG_one gets a special negative shoutout for his stick. As a sensitive young woman myself, I find things like that to be really demeaning. Moroha for being a master of disguise (although you couldn't fool me). Everyone who was hype behind me in Melty. Arc drives all day. Veteru for crushing Dacidbro when it counted and keeping vet coast alive in spirit. Everyone I didn't mention who played Guilty Gear. You are all so hype even if I didn't get your names. I didn't really play enough games against enough people. This shoutsout list is empty.
  9. I think, IIRC, there was some pretty stiff miscommunication. GG community didn't talk to EVO staff, and was not an official event, so when everyone was being told to exit the room and it wasn't happening probably ten minutes over the time limit, EVO staff pulled the plug on the operation. Had there been better communication it probably could have been avoided, and since EVO was in no way responsible for the GG side tournament they weren't hosting, I think the burden of approach was on GG community. So as horrible as it was that it happened, I don't think EVO can be blamed. Really sucks though, glad Hellmonkey is a great guy.
  10. I know how to play this game. Double perfected Vet in a money match today. But hey, thanks for the advice, I guess. EDIT I'm channeling Dacidbro into this thread
  11. Thanks to me last-minute losing my room, I might want to take you up on this! What are your details, as far as where you're staying/when you're arriving/when you're leaving?
  12. In fairness, that setup can be made to be true unblockable if timed perfectly. Although, if you do, you'll have to do something different to start the combo, since in the game's mind the 6B will be the hit that affects the opponent, not the 2D. Really though. Timing's the exact same for everyone, only thing is you should practice it on the shorties since on them the window where you can successfully do it is a bit shorter (Still not 1 frame or anything, though, so it's highly practicable). Again, back when I played this game this unblock setup was something that I actually did (and posted about several times), so I'm quite certain of this.
  13. Huh? No, setting up that reset isn't character specific and isn't difficult. That's actually a setup I used. 6C forces standing, remember, and no one's short enough when standing for j2C jB to whiff when done like that with decent timing.
  14. Right but, the reason Hakumen can't slash Ada to make an orb isn't because of some special "not completely a projectile" property on Ada, because as evidenced at time he in fact can, but Ada absorbs the orb as it's created due to Ada's projectile-eating property.
  15. No, Hakumen can slash ada and make an orb appear. But it usually disappears before it is rendered, because the orb hits Ada. However if it hits Ada at the right angle and strange aeons occur, the orb will appear.
  16. Well, Ada is considered a projectile in and of herself, but still gets countered, doesn't she?
  17. What is the situation you are trying for here? I can test this all pretty easily, but I need to make sure I know the situation, because otherwise this isn't going to always be 100% accurate because of course hitstun imparted is not just a measure of a move's level and how many hits are already in the combo, but of a move's level and how many of what hits are already in the combo. So different situations are going to mean different amounts here; 5A > 5B won't even hit 7 hits going on 8 off of 2A 5A 5B 5C (6D) 2A 5A 5B, but it will off of (6D) jC 5B 5C (6D) jC 5A 5B, for instance. Meanwhile, 5B 5C (41236D) 2A 5A 2A 5A 5B will work, even though that's 13 hits going on 14. Of course, the reason for this is now well-known, but since you didn't mention it: In CS, hitstun/untechable time are modified by the same proration at damage.
  18. Gatling cancel is just... Cancelling from a normal to another normal... I'm not sure since I haven't actually played BlazBlue in about a month and have no real interest in the game anymore, but I'm pretty sure the idea is to keep them from teching forward after A mash by using allegretto to be a wall they have to block, only to get hit by the clap. It's weak, but, eh. Might work.
  19. They'll be able to block allegretto, but that won't help them get out of the clap. Also, doesn't gatling? Allegretto is a special move, and you can special cancel jump A.
  20. People do it against nirvana, it's not a carl thing.
