Totally. I bought the PS2 collection just to hit buttons and to jam to some sweet Zuntata tunes but got so much more that I was left feeling a bit empty when I 1cc'd PF2012 on Hardest. This series also seems to be responsible for mechanics used in modern fighters that aren't totally air-based. Barrier guarding, psych bursts, reverse chaining and the aforementioned homing dash... This game was just too ahead of its time. Easily my favorite pre-millenial fighter.

I've been wondering about that myself. Now that Axl Bomber is back to its upward angle, with an activation made beforehand and with the added RC slowdown I would think for sure that would be a cheap way to steal a few wins. But since I haven't seen that happen yet I'm guessing there's a safeguard of sorts.

I sure did! And boy was it ever a waste of time! Everything from them is trash except Tears to Tiara which was decent, but ultimately forgettable. Scrapped Princess did Utawarumono's 'fantasy world that is actually the post-apocalyptic future' story with FAR better execution and has actually likeable characters. Not trying to sound elitist, but DO check it out sometime!

No, I'm pretty sure shotguns are supposed to be nothing more than short ranged explosions. Other video games depict them the same way, so it must be true.

Where does this silly myth come from and why do people keep perpetuating it? Ishiwatari was only 23 when he started work on Guilty Gear, meaning he was a recent graduate at that time. There is no way he could have done any significant work prior to joining ASW.

H.R. Giger is clearly the greatest comedian of our time. Also, while it's a bit late to mention this now, but I do rather like this new character and I sincerely hope that her story is as absurd as Jocelot's joke idea. Okay maybe not, but I can definitely see her being a better character than at least Dizzy.

Her taunt where she stretches out her hand to make sure you can see the gesture more clearly? I didn't say that EVERY character in GG was silly, just most of them. And Justice herself is actually a decent antagonist even if her motives were fairly cliche. I mean, crotchspike and all, she's much more imposing than any other antagonist we've had since.

Hahaha, Millia and Venom look like such good buddies in that bottom scan. And Ramlethal became a maid after having her antagonist status stripped from her, how perfect!

The problem I have with the new GG characters isn't just their design it's the way they're presented. One of the things I adore so much about GG is that almost every character is incredibly silly in some way, even the ones that initially look badass. It's a nice quirk. This is not the case with who we have so far, who are dead serious antagonists and are thus, really boring to me. Bedman especially. Zappa was a dude possessed by a handful of ghosts who made him attack in super freaky ways and yet nobody feared him, they just thought he was on drugs or something. That was funny. Seeing some guy die Freddie Krugger style to some OP geek boy is just plain frustrating.
