I'd say keep posting. There isn't much Anji information out there honestly... and most have been done through hard pushs through bad matchups and just matchup knowledge. Someones gotta take the lead on this stuff, especially one with experience. So what if he's near Bottom Tier!!! While we're not expecting advice that takes us to Raimuki/Lime-Key status in days, being able to discover new things will be great! (Will we get a 100% UB again after On with Red butterfly change? (#R)) And there isn't much JP Anji videos out there to look at I'm excited to try the new Anji stuff, yet I'm also not excited for a bunch of stuff. (Unnecessary nerfs in a few areas I think??) Still play #R online once in a while with him, couple casual here and there with some guys in AC but nothing too spectacular. Ready and Willing to read!

Using the Campus Net is most likely the problem, since you can't really edit any of the settings. So I guess in this case, I guess you're only option is Hamachi/Tuungle -

There is a common misconception that if you can't ping them, you can't connect. This is wrong. If you're pinging someone with a Firewall (any), you're going to get denied and have it time out. Plain and simple. Unless its setup to allow 'pings', than its going to Time Out. DMZ mode lets pings through (Routers), but is not really recommended... Why not use Hamachi? Simple. But let me ask you that question in a different way. Why use a Virtual Private Network program that simulates P2P, to P2P, when you could use... P2P? You're adding an extra 'stops' to the network connection for no reason! The steps to bypass your normal network is the exact same as a VPN (Hamachi, Tuungle, etc). In the end, you still have to forward ports, and you still have let it through a firewall, but instead of your normal network, you're just doing it on the Hamachi Network. If you can connect through Hamachi, you can connect directly too! There isn't a real reason to add lag for no reason. What are the errors that you're getting in the console? Is it saying "Connection Failed"? Is it starting on its own? Are you getting desyncs immediately? -
Next question! Someone mentioned that I should use TK Orb during pressure strings as Mixup. To be sure TK Orb hits, I have to be: 1. Close (It whiffs if you're too far, even after a simple 5KS) 2. Done after an attack that may be jump cancelled (Basically only 5S since 6S doesn't hit close) or a Dash in Wouldn't it be better just to mix in P.Stomp or 3P? TK Orb is pretty much 100% unsafe on whiff/block without RC, and pushs them too far if not near corner for Oki and if it does whiff, you're stuck in air waiting for any punish they want to dish out!!! The only real mixup I can think of from it is: Feint Throw attempt -> TK Orb or 2P5S TK Orb Thoughts?
-
Yes and No, which is why I discluded it. the j.H likes to whiff a lot, so to guarantee I get the minimum damage possible and the pushback of j.D I'll omit j.H completely if I see/or fear j.H whiffing. A whiffed j.H because they tech can lead to bad situations!

That happens because of 2 things: 1. Incorrect 'GG File' status 2. Loaded it wrong You should have the GG Files, in whatever folder together, extracted To start, you should be doing 'File->Normal Boot' and selecting the .LST file -
Thx Dream for some insight, I'll just keep plugging away ~ until then On combos and j.D will be my ender ~ When given the choice of more damage over good Knockdown/Butterfly position, its always better to take the latter unless the extra damage will kill or the extra damage is significant enough. Most Air combos either 1. Push them far away so they can't punish you and reset to neutral 2. Push them into the corner already; so there is (almost) no need to waste 50% tension on that. If you end with j.D, they're gonna be pushed back and with your starting combo as it is, you're probably close enough to the corner to get a good Red Butterfly setup. I'd take the UB setup for more damage resulting from it anyday. Also, from P.Stomp, if you want more damage do a JI combo instead. Example: 214P -> 5S(Install)S -> sj.SPS dj.KSD It would net you the same damage if not more AND save you 50% for FB Rins and Red Butterflies and give you better positioning (Closer to corner). A Win Win Win situation there.
-
Quick ones here: 1. Is it a viable strat when you got them in the corner to break pressure strings and go into 3P to bait a CH on Mashers? Or should I simply throw another Butterfly/anticipate Jump? Example: (Enemy in Corner) Butterfly -> 5KS -> Butterfly falling hits -> 5K -> 3P 2. After a Air combo on wall, I'm trying to end it with Orb after a j.D (See it all the time). I can't seem to nail it, so I've been just floating in the air waiting to be killed (LOL). Strings I'm usually going for: sj.KSHD Orb sj.KSD Orb sj.SPSD Orb Not sure when to put in that H, or why Orb whiffs after j.D Any thoughts would help. 3. I can't reliably do 3S Canceling yet, but I seem to be doing fine without by simply doing 2S -> 2D or S.Fuujin-S or 'something' to setup Butterfly game. How important is 3S Canceling really? Should I be putting that on my priority lists of things to learn or should I work on my horrible defence/zoning skills first? :D

Looks okay, next steps would be to "Eliminate the Problem". Try these steps (If Possible) 1. Is it the Router? Straight connect to your Modem box, bypassing the Router. If it works, try restarting Router first, including your Computer. 2. Is it my Firewall? Temporarily disable your Firewall 3. Are my ports really open? www.whatsmyip.org includes a free Port Scanner, goto Custom Port and type in 27886. While the game is not running, it should say CLOSED. While game is running, it should say OPEN. It should NOT say Timed Out 4. Did your opponent set it up right? Make sure your opponent can do everything as well. 5. Can you connect to other people who can host? Try connecting to people who have it setup already? Heck, connect to me! (I think we're close!) 6. Do you have a VPN active? (Hamachi, Tuungle, etc) If you have a VPN active, sometimes it "overrides" your computer IP with priority. You may have to disable and restart. Since you disabled your Firewall, I'm going to assume its the Router Forwarding. Let us know how you fair, or just talk to me on IRC. *NOTE* If you have Firewall on, you won't ever get a "Closed" ping with the Port Scanner. However, if you're hosting and waiting for an opponent, it should say "Open" once. And if you're hosting, the "Ping" will actually trigger the game start and close the port again for scanners. -

Hamachi/Tunggle/etc/Any VPN is a horrible idea. P2P will always be better instead of connecting to a 3rd Server (Lag +) and then transmitting data (Lag ++) Also, if you can't connect that means you: 1. Didn't let program through Firewalls 2. Didn't forward Ports correctly 3. Don't have it setup right in nulldc.cfg, please read the Setup. -

Update! Fixed the lag issue (sorta!) Its pretty nitpicky about Ports and Routers :< I'll update the site tonight. In the meantime, IRC for help/stuff! EDIT: https://sites.google.com/site/ggxxaconline/ GET HYPE!! Played a bunch, almost no Desyncs, 60fps!! 4Delay is good for medium distances, 2Delay for short! It ain't no GGPO, but its good enough for me! -

Heylo! I'll write something up again later tonight as well as hotlink nullDC that reaVer made. I'll be testing with guys in IRC. So far, us NA guys have a really big Frame Drop issue. Gonna see if we can resolve it. but its better than Kaillerra for sure! Will post updates later! -
No worries buddy, I'll fix it for you (^^ )y Great Work for 3 days worth of coding, next time I'll help you out more D:

Sorry Teyah, I was busy that day you know that! Anyways, That's great that you've been running tournies since then, but that's irrelevant and the post doesn't need your boasting (No offence, but it came off like that). From a (mostly) outsiders view, it was really disorganized and uninviting. Like I said, the time I went, only 2-3 people even bothered to say Hi. The scene in Calgary grows because they invite, they talk, they play, almost weekly from my understanding talking with Raptor. It is truly a community that's connected. The only person I really can put a name to a face, is yourself actually, the couple times I've met you which were extremely brief. At least you answered the Animeathon question, at least we know why (Although the doorman could have easily said something TBH). But other then that, you really didn't say how you're going to solve anything. I'm not sure why you wouldn't be able to paste a few posters @ UofA, Grant Mac, Nait, EBGames and Play 'N' Trade. For more new players and gamers, they're not gonna find out that there's a forum called www.edmontongamers.com. They're more likely to find it via a friend of a friend that saw a sign at EBGames as he went to buy GranTurismo5 or something. Without prior knowledge of how to find the time for the Tournaments, had to do some digging to find your January Tournament, which is on Jan 22nd, @ West Ed (I'm assuming Ice Rink room again). I'm surprised there no poster outside there advertising for it nor anywhere. I had to dig reasonably deep to find it. (By reasonably, I'm talking most people would give up much earlier trying to find it). I can count 3 people that play GG in Edmonton off hand, more probably lurking somewhere and only 2 people (Bera and Myself) that idles in IRC for GGXX#R Online. In other words, yah its small but they're there. If you're still interested, perhaps you'd like to play online with us. irc.chatpspike.net - #reloadonline . There's even GGXXAC online using (crappy) Kaillera netcode that we could play on. We're both in Edmonton, so ping/frames shouldn't be that big of an issue, at most 2frame Delay. We can start right there, and I'm inviting. Hell, if you want to play GG at my Condo, feel free. You only need 3-4 people to get a Scene going, so lets stop whining and complaining and lets get it done. As for Melty Blood, I have MBACverB (PC) and MBAA (PS2 JP ver), so that is not a problem. I didn't bother learning MBAA because no one played it, as probably yourself. So with us 2, possibly 3, that is not a problem either. I'll throw in Umineko coming out this January in here as well, and for the hell of it AH3. I can't say anything for SF and the VS Scene, I know that scene is strong and growing especially thanks to SSF4. I will not deny that. However, if we want a larger scene (even for BB), things gotta be better. I'm willing to help as I've seen the state of the community and been there, but it sounds like you don't want any help at all!! If you're still willing to play GG or even lol-mashing some MB, give me a shout. I'm sure if I can get 3-4 people even bi-weekly, Raptor said he'd get Calgary guys to come up and that would mean good things. -

I'd like to point out, a lot of it is pretty disorganized. The only time I even heard of any fighting stuff was through an acquaintance randomly, and even then there wasn't really much support or anything. Only time now that I hear about is Animeathon. Speaking of Animeathon, I do have some beefs about that. It didn't have GG, but thats understandable considering whats been going on. What irked me was when it came down to playing the actual tournaments, we were asked to stay out of the room (Spectators). Why?!? This doesn't make any sense. There's no way to drum up hype if you're gonna not show people that its fun to go out, learn, play, meet people. I got nothing from the couple times I've been around the community. Secondly, there was nothing for introductions at all. I had maybe 2 guys ever even talk to me, introduce themselves, ask me questions. I was left kinda out while everyone was playing their 3S on the Laptop, or (understandably) busy organizing. There was absolutely no sense of community. The one time I went to Calgary to play, even for a few hours. I played more, met more people than I have ever in Edmonton. Even helped them push/shovel a car out of the snow (LOL). I went down to play Teyah as he was there once, for just 4 or so hours, but I learned more from his advice and just talking than I ever did here or online. And in the end, I had fun, which is all that mattered to me. Needless to say, I think internal workings of Edmontons Community need work before anything larger can become of it. Why not ask 'Play 'n' Trade' to host one? Heck I'll even ask (The stores a block from my place) and help organize with stuff. This community in this city needs to branch out and be inviting, not some closed off niche, which totally turned me off. I have talked with Raptor and Teyah on IRC about this stuff, so maybe we can make something happen. But its gotta start at home. -

Tsubaki's legs are drawn... well yah.

In regards to Tsubaki (Since I main her!~) I'm not sure if I like or hate this; nor do I know if its going to be a buffed Tsubaki or nerfed. 5D instantly giving stock is great, but in exchange for what? Higher recovery? I'm happy for the faster charges though, also happy for 5B doing more damage. * 2BB>5BB gattlings added (Cannot re-input 2BB) Not sure what to think about this, but its nice for more Mixup resets but Charge Cancelling was okay as it was, its a buff I guess. * 236A start up time increased, higher proration * 214A, B doesn't float opponent even when done by itself * 623A on counter hit, untechable time decreased so cannot follow up * j236A has more startup, and can't be used in combos. * j236C has some lag when you land. * 22D, whether charged or not, only knocks the opponent back (no wallbounce). rom midscreen, you can combo with 236D. From the corner, you can just use normals * Cannot cancel into any move from throw, throw slides. mid screen do 236D to follow up, in corner can follow up with normal combos(?) * After air throw timing for follow up attacks more strict(?) This is where I'm thinking "Oh god..." and not sure what to think about it... Pretty much BnB is going to be new/reworked completely (Thinking of standard 5BB2BB5CC 236A 214A 22C here and alike), UB setups AND more BnB combos are pretty much gone (Any combo with 22D 6CC Air Combo) without at least 2 Bars for 236D followup unless they're in the corner. And if I'm not mistaken, doesn't half of these ruin the Challenge Mode stuff too?!? Hopefully this "Charge Boost" helps a ton, and 5B hits for 800minimum (lol I wish) Or she gets better normal priorities and some other goodies. Cause I honestly don't see "Tsubaki got buffed!" here. Maybe I'm just dumb this late at night (Which I probably am lol) Here's hoping for more info!! Edit: Thinking about it, I wonder if making 5D give stock instantly is for combos involving Charge Canceling into 236D etc. mmm... 5BB5CC22D 5D Stock 236D 2CC Air Combo?

Hopefully more! I gotta start brushing off dust on AC Anji and put away #R Anji for a bit now that I can play more AC against humans ( Hooray online vs Teyah :D ) Theres been a few more videos in the past month of LimeKey/Raimuki from SBO and I think another Anji that beat a Baiken (lol). Its just too bad no Anji in SBO this year. But theres lots of things you can steal from LimeKey still! Hope to see more info here later. In fact, I DEMAND it. EDIT: Heres the best SBO 2010 Qualifier Match for him IMO. Great advanced stuff in there, including help for Ky Matchup. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7At36bDgCd8

[AC] GGXX: Accent Core on PC - now (actually) playable online
LaPengo replied to Teyah's topic in Guilty Gear Online Play
Online is fine (for the basic parts) although anyone a fair distance away could/may experience large amounts of delay frames, and their variable delay frames. Best bet is still someone within 30ms of you, which gives you both 2 or 3 Delay Frames. Played with a few people a long way off too, it was manageable but 1 player having 7DF vs someone with 4df is a pretty big Frame Advantage! Spectators may or may not add even more lag. Overall, its the best we got right now, so I'll learn to deal with it. Plus beating Teyah is fun in Mirrors :D !! Although people are prone to randomly Desync and the game won't tell you, which requires a full restart (lol) of the Emulation to get back in, but with IRC honestly, its fine.
