So I talked to Max, Zenmetsu, and he said that they're going to have two full cars + Spidey coming from SoCal. A 5v5 is not out of the question. If this is true, then this means that we can hold two quals. One today and another one next Saturday. We can also host a final quals for the 5th spot the day before the tournament. It's high time we get organized. I hope to see somebody at SVGL in the morning. Btw, it was nice seeing you again Max and friends. Okay, I was silent on this cause I thought people actually figured this gig out...apparently not. Dacid and Derek will take the top 2 spots. Third spot will be determined by quals. The best solution to this is to do the quals at EUdemonia, SVGL Sat. Arcade Mania, or at someone's home. Nothing more or nothing less. So unless people have any other solutions, the tournament will have to take place THIS Saturday (8/14) at SVGL during the morning arcade mania [9am - 12am]. - Round robin - Best of one match. - Limit 6 entrants (if there are only two people who showed up to quals, then it's FT5) (if only one person shows up, then they are automatically in the 3v3 exhibition) (if nobody shows up, then third person will be picked based on NorCal SVGL seeding) - Buy-in is the arcade mania card. We pay Haunts for the stream. In exchange, we use IPW name to help market our tournament in places that we won't be able to (for e.g., our tournament is now Sticki'd on SRK). I say that's fair. HEY LET'S USE ONE OF THE SPARE EUDEMONIA LCDs CAUSE NOBODY IS USING IT!" $3 Stream + Venue Fee The $3 will be towards payment for the venue and to Iplaywinner stream. This does NOT entitle you use of ANY Eudemonia equipment whatsoever. First come first serve. The parking lot that's nearest to EU only has about 30 spots. I plan on leaving at 7am and arriving there at 8am. If that lot is full, then the next best alternative is to park in the BART parking lot. I'll hang out with SoCal crew and Haunts until the LAN center opens...unless they're all sound asleep. Edit: Since I managed to capture people's attention with the parking situation, I will provide you all with a comprehensive Berkeley parking for Dummies guide! Berkeley Parking for Dummies Solution 1: Local Parking Rates are $1.50 per hour Taken straight from ICSI, Solution 2: All Day Parking Garage This is the most ideal solution for people who don't like to walk from faraway lands. All day parking garages are more expensive, but they are less than 0.1 miles from the EU. Here's the rates: Solution 3: BART Rates: $1 + $3.50 for roundtrip ticket You can park at any BART station and take a round trip to Berkeley. OR you could park at the Berkeley BART station which isn't that far from EU (0.4 miles). The last train leaves at midnight. Taken from the ICSI, Solution 4: Free Local Parking Rates: Free, but extremely limited and littered with Parking Officers This is the last solution you have to solve your parking problems. You can park in a - free - time limited parking zone. Most of them limit you to one hours/two hours. I used to go to grad school here, and I would have to get out of class (sometimes midterms) to re-park my car in a different location. Not fun, but it's a solution.

No free parking in Berkeley. The city makes a living off of parking tickets. I'm not even joking. If parking is a problem, then this is my next - best - solution for you. Park at the nearest BART station away from Berkeley. Buy a 2-way ticket for $5 and arrive at the Berkeley station. The station is only 1/2 a mile from EUdemonia, and if you're bringing setups, then I'll come and help you bring them.

Back room is double the size of SVGL and we have access to half of the main room. Truth be told, this is the - best - venue we've come across for price, availability, flexibility, and - most of all - SIZE. Other hotel venues gave me a flat $500 fee to use their conference room that's only half the size and told me that I could stay - no later - than midnight. The big ones were going to charge me $100 per hour for use of the ballroom. SJSU ballroom closes early. But we have the luxury to stay till 1am. I busted my ass to find a venue throughout the whole bay area. THIS, next to DeVry, is the best one I found so far. So if you don't like it, don't come. And if you could tolerate SVGL, then I don't see why you can't tolerate a LAN center. Parking is the biggest problem, but that can be solved if you, derp derp, come early. :3

So guys, I should remind you that parking is - horrendously - terrible at Berkeley. If you are driving up, then here are a few pre-cautions that you should be aware of: - Parking officers have eyes in the back of their head. They will show no mercy. Be sure you pay for your spot on time. - Parking can get EXPENSIVE. $12 for an all day parking pass is one of the cheapest deals you'll get...and they fill up faster than Dacid's salt shaker. You can pay $1.50 an hour for the side parking lots, but you have to recharge it once every hour. =.=" - Park EARLY! Saturday and Friday are the busiest days of the week. You snooze, you lose. Being late will only give you a parking nightmare. - Carpool! Carpool! Carpool! Carpool! Carpool! Carpool! Carpool! Carpool! Carpool! Carpool! Carpool! - If possible, then take public transportation! Everyone has, give or take, 4 setups each. The only thing left to do is show up, bring your equip that you said you'll bring, and hype up!
