See folks, even little children know to use Black Sol when playing Guilty Gear.

Guilty Gear FAQ Thread - Ask your questions here!
HolyAarom replied to Kairi's topic in Guilty Gear General
Well, it's about four posts above you... I personally recommend AC+, mostly because if this is your first GG game, the (crappy) story mode might at least help you find some backstory about the characters. There's also a ton of stuff to mess around with. -
Geh... Never knew about that. I'm usually too far from the enemy to do a 5K, but I guess I'll keep this in mind.
-
Make 5P chain into 6K, and make 2S and 6K chain into 5P. Make 3P chain into 5P. 3P CH into 20+% combo anyone?

The Sol and Ragna one looks pretty cool IMO, but I agree with Amadeous in making removing Sol's foot so that Ragna doesn't have any random bumps. I also have this idea for the logo that appears when one goes straight to http://www.dustloop.com/. Have Koogy's V3 logo or anything similar, and if you mouse over Sol, "Guides" will come up, and if you mouse of Ragna, "Forums" will come up. Also, if anyone were to remake the banner at the top of the forum, that would be pretty cool too (I might even use it for a sig if the size is good enough for the other forums I go to.)

Well, it's not losing that's getting me angry, but I guess it's how I'm losing. I was facing this Slayer in #R and he literally Pilebunker'd me into a Dizzy status and killed me. I kept rematching this person, but it seems like whatever I'm doing differently isn't working. I think this sounds pathetic, but I think it's that I couldn't at least get a hit in or something, slapping me on the face with the message that I suck (lol self conscious.) I find it kinda distressing that I'm just sitting there and I have no way to fight back against the other player. Then again, I guess you guys might be right and I'm just taking this too seriously. I was able to beat this Eddie after losing like ten times, but this one player, my god. It was if he was a Yomi Reader as a second job. I really can't explain why I'm getting angry, but I'm not the "punch a wall" angry person, but I'm the person who just grits his teeth and say "gg" in a semi-angry voice. Yes, this. Basically, I went to #R online with the ability to at least do Maniac in AC, but I got destroyed by certain people. I do beat a few people sometimes, but getting beat the way I did makes me question if I really am a decent player, or if everyone else I beat is just dumb. I'm not sure if I can find a better analogy for my problem, but it's like working very hard for something, and then when you do do whatever, you fail and your hard work looks pointless. (I know that was a pretty crap analogy.) Again, I think I'm just rambling like a whiny person, but I think it helps if I at least try to vent/explain what my problem is and seek advice from those who have been in my shoes before. Other than that, I'm pretty sure it's best to relax and move on for now.

Well, even though I think you're talking to the other guy, the only thing I think isn't possible is that Wild Throw > Napalm Death. I'm sure everything else is possible, but that WT>ND just seems iffy to me because I tried it several times. BACK TO TRAINING MODE TO TEST IT OUT
-
Is this possible?
-
For me, it's usually muscle memory. I sometimes play as the shadow version of a character so I can at least practice FRC against a moving CPU.
-
I guess I shouldn't take it too seriously, but sometimes I just feel like I'm a cat in a box and I can't get out when I'm slapped at the face at how horrible I really am compared to some strangers. Well hey, that's a sign to improve, right? I have AC/+, but my only options are: -Gold CPUs -My friends who think that guarding is the taunt button I'm guessing some matchup experience would help if I were actually able to go to a real match or something, but I'm thinking that #R and AC are just too different that having some experience in one won't help in the other.
-
So I tried to play some #R online and I got destroyed. MY PRIDE I'm generally not an angry person, but getting destroyed when I have no way to inch out tends to make my blood pressure rise a little. I'm getting killed by the same tactics, and even though I try to read some of them, I still end up losing. How do you guys get better and keep yourselves from raging? I realize that this is the hard truth that everyone finds out when they stop playing against the CPU and go to fight real players, but goddamn, this jump is big. I'm guessing that reading about all the techniques and stuff helps, but it won't do anything if you've never tested out these things against a real person. I put this thread here because this is probably more of a general question instead of a gameplay one.

[#R] Official #R PC Online Play Thread
HolyAarom replied to koogy's topic in Guilty Gear Online Play
Testing it now. also: kow do i beat ky Edit: So I played a few matches, and I had a few that laggggggggged much more than usual, but I had some that had no lag I thought I was playing in fast motion. -
Q) What is FDC? Another example is FD Jumping. Normally a character has 3-5 frames of startup on his jump. If you Faultless Defense during this startup time, your character will jump immediately into the air, reducing the startup time and making jumping more safe. Do 7 + Faultless Defense and your character will shoot into the air. You'll know you did it correctly if no smoke/dust appears when your character jumps.

Around 0:31 in this video, Sol did a 2P>2K>Wild Throw. What I'm wondering is why Faust got hit with that 2K. Was it because he was trying to jump away? If it was because he was jumping away, it has to do with the jump startup that happens before the characters rise into the air, right? Also, what would be the jump startup in this page?

So guys, I'm trying to experiment with IAD CLSW hits, and I want to know what kind of setups you guys use. I started testing some, but these were on Sol: -Wild Throw, IAD j.S, Sidewinder, ???? -Air Dash j.S, j.D, Sidewinder, IAD backwards Sidewinder, (j.S, Sidewinder)*, 2H, j.HS, Sidewinder, Bandit Revolver (Needs to start very close to the corner.) *I'm pretty sure that it's possible to do another IAD Sidewinder right here, but I'm usually too low to get a Clean Hit. For now, I just do a dash jump to the j.S.

Well, the way I see it, I'm thinking he means 623D. I don't even think that's even a real move for Axl, unless it's the Housou Force Break mirrored. Also, kinda off topic, but isn't Axl's Force Break Bomber 623D in the air?
-
Rashousen that moves in the same path as 6K.
-
Dang, that Nekomimi guy is inspiring me to improve my Axl game even more. The one thing I noticed is that during a Bomber loop, the player would go straight into a j.D instead of a 2S>j.D. That's something I'll keep in mind because I drop a few combos due to the Bomber whiffing. Also, lol at the Rensen>Raieisageki loop. Reminds me too much of Bandit Bringer.

I remember reading something about the Sega-Sammy merge resulting in GG being hard to license or something, and we got BB instead. I think that was proven false on this forum, but I can't really find the posts that explain every detail about the Sega ownership of the GG series. I just want to know the real story about Sega getting the rights to GG and stuff. It'll be educational for me and several other people who might read this topic. A Google search led me to this, but I still want to read more information from people from Dustloop.

I'm not sure if it can be called a crossup, because it involves you turning around in midair, not the opponent standing on the ground. Anyway, I was messing around with infinite Tension in training mode, and something I find is that when I do certain moves, I can't turn around to follow up even when I pass my opponent. For example, I try TK'ing Sol's aerial 236K FRC against a random character, and when I cross the character, I can't do a 236K. (214K?) The thing is, when I try the aerial 236K from a higher point, I can turn around and do another aerial 236K FRC. I've had a similar experience with Axl, because I was spamming his FB Bomber for kicks and I can only spam the Bomber in one direction, even if I do cross the opponent. Is there a minimum height or something that determines when your character will turn around when crossing your opponent?

Yo guys, I just want to know what stage this is in #R: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DQdRofy4wX0#t=1m05s

Does anyone know what triggers "Fever Penalty" in M.O.M mode? -
Hey guys, I'm kinda new here, so expect some explaining with some of the combos, since I'm having trouble with some of them. Dust Combos: 5D, j.D, j.D, DJ >> falling j.D, dash j.D, SW, dash 2H, j.D, SW, nj.S, SW, BR = 199 damage (Must be in corner by 4th j.D) Do you hold up to cancel the first two j.D then DJ? I can't seem to get the timing down.

X (PS2, stopped working.) Isuka (PS2) #Reload (PC, but uninstalled after some time.) AC and AC+ (PS2) BlazBlue (360, but I don't own any current gen systems.) As far as being a fan goes, I like playing the game, and I tried getting some of my friends into game. The best competition I can get in my area is a Ky user who doesn't know how to Ride the Lightning, and I rage quit on #R's online.
