  1. Yeah. It's slower though safer since you could just ~glide in but still hold 4 + react FD to anything. And if momentum in BB is like in GG you also get a buffed up airdash (hence, buffed up iad kara-throw) or a buffed double jump. I'm a big fan of the dash-jump (or step jumping, as referred here).
  2. Nah, I-No and Johnny can cancel the first few frames of their dash startup in a jump -- the references to those characters make me think that that is the case. Pick those characters and do 669 real quickly. It's to compensate for the fact that they can't have running jumps the way other characters with regular dashes do. And a 1/3rd of a screen in one jump is AMAZING.
  3. I think the 'walking Nirvana closer between each rep' is to compensate for the fact that 2C has such huge PP and a regular 2C 8D loop would die by the 4th rep. By spacing Nirvana closer each the 8D hits much earlier and thus allowing 6-7 2C 8D reps. I conjecture it doesn't eat that much meter anyway since you can still do the first 2-3 reps like normal and then start walking forward the next 3 or so reps so the meter used is not really monumental.

  6. 663214C might a bit too slow; assuming it cancels on all airborne frames 21466C might be adequate/more efficient. And since Allegreto follows the momentum of the move you cancelled it from (see: j.2C) then you might get like an awesome forward float before ALLEGRETO. Yes, I am quite hyped for Carl in BBCS TYVM.
  7. Then it just means the ~3-14 airborne part can be cancelled to air specials, which is eh since he has only one air special; but eh, a 3F-slower ground Allegreto would have its uses.

  16. IB 2S and backdash or 1F jump. Usually what the Pot would do is 2S -> Hammerfall [cancel] in which case a backdash would be most effective at escaping; you could 1F jump but I *think* he can immediately Heat and catch you out of anything that wasn't an immediate pin or back airdash; Idk, not sure about this part. In your case if it's just uncanceled 2S -> PB then IB -> backdash still saves you from both 2S -> PB and 2S -> Heat. And yeah, you're gonna have to learn to IB 2S very quickly, but it ain't that fast, actually. Just a matter of getting used to... knowing/seeing when a 2S is coming. You would have to keep in mind that if you are too caught up 'looking' for a 2S, he could just cancel whatever normal he's using to make you block and PB.

  19. Has anyone ever tried doing [or figuring out the finger-work for an] airdash 2C~kara throw~8]D[ as the 2nd airthrow+8]D[? I remembered people had concerns against like Taokaka and Rachel who'd 'fall too fast' and I had the thought the 2C~kara throw should kill your elevation very fast. Also, what happens if you jump and 2C~kara throw on the spot? Do you ~float~ or do you get like a retarded jump or do you get like an ~effective and safe~ almost-option-select I-No-esque airthrow attempt?

So, I don't have access to BB on console and was wondering if someone could work this out for me if you have the time. whatever 2C [re]launch [opponent bursts] 214214]D[ Was wondering if you could bait bursts at 2C using this and was hoping someone could just idk... run it down how or when it works. I'm picturing it that the opponent would be in burst startup at the super flash and the burst hits Carl but the punch hits the opponent before they land. And which bursts could it work on? Does the variable startups affect its effectiveness? And is it possible to buffer 214214 at the 2C and release D in reaction to bursts, even those 8F ones? Subsequently, if the punch super is the first hit, can you combo afterwards somehow HOPEFULLY INTO THROW LOOP AGAIN LOL (can you combo at all afterward actually?)?. Sorry, I have a lot of ideas but I only get to touch BB like once every month or 2 months in Singapore and then I only get a few hours play. Plus, the last time I went, I grasped executional stuff alright as long as it didn't involve weight or hitboxes and variable airdash timings as throwloops would and this sequence was one of the non-throwloop damage options I'm trying to work out.
  21. @ all the people wanting Athena vids Jsyk, they started uploading them to nicovideo but only from the 23rd ranbat onwards. While it appears they will upload ranbats to Nico from now on, the epic matches we saw notes of in BMS's post of the 21st and 22nd ranbat are still lost to us.
  22. Did some digging on Nicovideo: Part 1 Part 2 DF2 Qualifier finals between Ken (PO) / Koichi (IN), Mugen (BR) / Ogiwara (SL) and Tanbo (MA) / Nose (I think? ZA). [Koichi's match against Ogiwara looks A LOT like one of his vs. Slayer vids in the finals, I think vs. Kami-Chan? Same combos, same ending mixup and everything] And SBO '07 qualifier vids I think: Machaboo/012/BLEED vs. KA2/Koichi/FAB [What appears to be] A fragment of KA2/Koichi/FAB vs Slayer-something (SL)/DIE-chan(AB)/Yume(BR) ------------ Was only about to post the DF2 parts but I found the others too so I figured I'd just dump them here. Also I can't read Japanese so everything's inferenced or put through Google Translator to figure out; I didn't verify its accuracy with a real Japanese-speaking person. They are still Koichi vids in any case, so enjoy!
  23. I had it working and then my download manager just stopped... 'registering' my filebank downloads so to speak. Like I'd hit 'download' on the browser and the download manager would remain blank. That was a while ago and just 2 weeks prior to this message I cleaned out my computer of unused apps and this was one of them. Idk, I thought given how little Filebank was posted on DL it wasn't in vogue anymore.
  24. It shouldn't. BB isn't as saturated as GG is/can be in the general population at the moment, and you can't say GG is very saturated anyway, so... Personally I really can only go to Singapore (where there are a total of 5 BB cabs in the same area zomg) once every month or two, and for a span of 3 days max usually. And that's hardly long enough or close enough to learn Carl (or anyone else) effectively. Although can't necessarily say it'll get better once it hits consoles, at least for financially-strapped stick-users anyway.
