Ok, few questions on the next burnt toast: Some people expressed that the entry fee for each game was a bit on the high side, and that they would rather have the venue fee be higher (to help of cover costs) and to make the entry fee per game less (so people can afford to play in more game tournaments). Does this sound like something that might be better for everyone as a whole? Would it be better to do like 7$ venue then like 5$/game? Pay out would be less but people can participate in more games. Also date for next Burnt Toast will be either 3-17 or 3-27, the other 2 sat are sf4 ranbats at ffa/ai. Let us know which date will be best. After some input I will update the first post with new info. Tentative games for next month: naruto tvc mbaa sf4 bbcs gg

So everything seemed to go well, sorry all for the rushed end and THANKS to everyone who came out and helped bring equipment and helped to clean up, we really appreciate it. Brackets and results will be posted later. I will post some pics tomorrow. Lets work to get more people coming next time so we can break even with the venue...I will buy more assorted sodas next time, for some reason I thought there would be more people drinking water. Costco pizza went well so I will prob do that again. Any comments/suggestions for next months tourney please post up

MBAA in EVO, time for melty casuals tomorrow!!

What, no I didnt ask for people not playing to pay at all. I have seen ZONG and his gf at AI many times, I figured thats who he was talking about lol...only asking that people who are coming and intend to sit at a console and play all day to please pay

Don't listen to Tushar.... In regards to spectator/venue fee we are asking that anyone coming to participate in a game or play casuals throughtout the day to pay the 5$ venue. This is soley to try and recoup money spent to rent the hotel space. This first tournament is likely to NOT break anywhere near even but it's a start and is great for the gaming community. If you plan to bring along a significant other, kid, or whoever that does not intend to take up space at a console than they DON'T have to pay. BBCS IS confirmed to be there, unfortunatly we only have 1 setup (1 board, 1 setup) as we do not condone piracy ( you all know who you are ) so bbcs casuals will be on 1 setup all day until the tourney for it. If anyone does own a Wii and tvc or naruto we ask that if you can bring your setup to please do so as the lack of Wii owner may limit the number of casual setups we can have. Anyone who wants to help out bringing TVs and/or systems we would greatly appreciate the support and will provide you with food Any other questions/concerns please post up and I will get back to you.

As you all know you need to bring your own stick...you could probably borrow someones but its just better to bring your own. Also if anyone can bring additional setups that would be great for side casuals. Hopefully we can get some side HnK, MBAA tourneys going, 1$ winner take all type of thing.

Irvine area people include: Xie, Stormlocke, Pulsr, Yeknom, Ryzyrbrn, uhh probably some others. Depending where you are I can maybe get you. But I'm sure a number of the above people will be carpooling together.

SoCal Tournament (official name pending) - Feb. 6th This is a tourney that used to be run back in the day by an employee at the Walnut hotel near AI. The new tournament is going to be run monthly by resident GGer RaYzYrbYrn. The goal being to revive the gg scene and to introduce new and old players to new games and competition. Melty blood is going to be run casually all day to introduce new players to the game. With the possibility of MBAA getting added to EVO as a main game we hope to get people interested in melty and hopefully grab so new WC players! If there is enough interest and mb players in attendance we could run a small side tourney for kicks . That being said... When: Sat. Feb 6th Where: Quality Inn & Suites 1170 Fairway Drive Walnut, CA 91789 (near AI) Games: MBAA casuals (ps2) Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars (Wii) Naruto: Clash of Ninja Revolution 3 (Wii) Guilty Gear Accent Core (ps2) Street Fighter 4 (FFA sf4/3s ranbat being on the same day we are going to tentatively switch SF4 to BBCS pending interest, using MikeZ's BBCS board) *we will have a few Wii sticks for use Entry Fee: $8 entry fee for each game $5 Venue fee (all day casual play) Start Times: We will be there around 10:00 am for Setup, Signups, and Casuals.
