  1. Registration is open again for 48 hours! It's closing at 12:00pm EST on Thursday so get on it! www.ecthrowdown.com
  2. Few things: 4 AND A HALF HOURS LEFT TO REGISTER! www.ecthrowdown.com There was some confusion about the bonus prize from One Frame Link. Here's a more clear explanation: $2000 SF4 $2000 Marvel $1000 Injustice $1000 to the game that has the most entries, EXCLUDING SF4, Marvel, and Injustice. So that means MK9 could get it, KoF13, SCV, Persona, any other game except the 3 already getting the bonus prize from OFL. Also, Injustice will be on Xbox 360 as mentioned on the front page and our social media accounts.
  3. Has anyone heard anything on AC+ getting released to consoles in time for ECT? I'm sure 100% of you understand that if it's not out, we can't run it lol. Just don't want peopel to think we're doing any false advertising.
  4. PRE-REGISTRATION ENDS IN 10 DAYS 9 HOURS 46 MINUTES!!!!!!!! More hotel rooms have been added, but there is a condition attached! Since there are so few rooms left on Saturday, you can only book rooms for two days or more. So that would be Friday & Saturday (check out Sunday), Saturday & Sunday (check out Monday) or Friday-Sunday (check out Monday). I'm tyring to get Saturday-only rooms, but they won't be able to be discounted, I can almost guarantee that. If you need a room for Saturday only, I have listed other hotels in the area. You can reach the venue hotel from there via cab (shouldn't be more than $5, $10 at the absolute max). I'll let you guys know as soon as Saturday rooms are made available, but for those needing two or three day stays, go nuts! www.ecthrowdown.com
  5. Vampire will be on Sunday as well. We'll be announcing Atlus' sponsorship tomorrow afternoon, so we definitely want to give them some main-stage burn on Sunday, but we're always trying to give every game some main-stage time, at least for their finals.
  6. GG and BB will start and finish on Saturday. Persona will go down to Top 4 on Saturday, and finish on the main stage on Sunday. Skullgirls will start and end on Sunday. That's the anime schedule so far.
  7. If you haven't already gotten your room for ECT5, here's the availability in the hotel that's left. I highly advise you book now seeing as how we exceeded ECT4's numbers a few weeks ago. Again, there is no charge to your credit card until you check-in, or cancel too close to your reservation. King Bed: 5/17: 9 rooms remaining 5/18: 12 rooms remaining 5/19: 2 rooms remaining Double/Double Beds: 5/17: 2 rooms remaining 5/18: 3 rooms remaining 5/19: 11 rooms remaining Suites: 5/17: 4 remaining 5/18: 3 remaining 5/19: 4 remaining Also, pre-registration ends in 18 days! www.ecthrowdown.com
  8. We added more double rooms to the block! Book today before they run out like they always do! The nearest hotel is $179/night! www.ecthrowdown.com
  9. Anime will start on Saturday as per usual. At least that's the plan right now. We're going to sit down this week and work out the schedule.
  10. REMINDER: Pre-registration ends May 4 and the emergency registration fee jumps to $45 at the door! Save $15 and help us out by pre-registering today! Hotel rooms will also be selling out very soon. More rooms are being added today but are sure to sell out quickly! www.ecthrowdown.com
  11. Registration is now online! We've also added Vampire Savior to the roster http://ecthrowdown.com/registration Hotel rooms are also going fast!
  12. Parkign is indeed excellent as Alan said. Just bring your ticket to the front desk and ask them to validate it. Once they do that, you stick the ticket in the machine at the gate and you're good to go. If you don't get it validated, you have to pay a fee, SO GET THAT ISH VALIDATED!
  13. You know us guys, whatever you want to run, run it and we'll do our best to get it on stage. We're going to work out a full stream schedule to ensure everything gets some time on the big screen.
  14. Hotel room reservations can be made, book now! I put the link in the first post. Also guys, Winter Brawl 7 marks the start of the East Coast TEKKEN TAG TOURNAMENT 2 Circuit, so be sure to head there for your shot at a free flight to Final Round XVI!
  15. Whichever system you guys want to run GG on after the +R release comes out, let us know and we'll take care of it. We're gonna work on getting sponsorships for the anime community as well this year. Since we're far away from E3 we -should- have an easier time securing them. Any ideas/suggestions LET US KNOW!
  16. Ladies and gentlemen, Joe "iloveu" Ciaramelli (AKA Long Island Joe) and John "SweetJohnnyCage" Gallagher are proud to present: East Coast Throwdown V http://ecthrowdown.com http://facebook.com/ecthrowdown http://twitter.com/ecthrowdown =================================== SPONSORED BY: One Frame Link Mad Catz The VideoXGames UltraSpec Cables Atlus =================================== East Coast Throwdown 4 was easily the most fun we've ever had at a tournament. The energy in that room was simply electrifying throughout the entire weekend. From the intense exhibitions between OMG itz Andre vs Unk0wn and RayRay vs Fanatiq to the nail-biting finals between Justin Wong and RayRay. And that was just Marvel! ECT4 also marked the first tournament with international presence from Asia. AverMedia's GamerBee was in attendance last year and proved to be quite the threat in every game he entered. It was truly an honor to be able to host a legendary player such as Bruce and we'd be happy to welcome anyone from around the world to our event. Joe and I were really pleased with the way ECT4 was run. We finally have systems in place to make sure everything runs as efficiently as possible with minimal delay. Our pre-registration system worked flawlessly and about 90% of you guys saved yourselves some dough and registered early. This allowed us to start on time and finish early. We received awesome feedback from the community and we're more than pleased to be bringing ECTV to you guys. We hope everyone who came last year will come back again for more spine-tingling excitement. The stuff we currently have in the planning stages has, and I quote from Joe himself, "the energy to bring back Jesus". So ladies and gentlemen, without further ado, we're ecstatic to present East Coast Throwdown V! =================================== Hyatt Morristown 3 Speedwell Avenue Morristown, NJ 07960 (973) 647-1234 =====MASS TRANSIT INFORMATION!!!===== To get to the hotel using mass transit, please take the Morristown Train Line from Penn Station in New York to the Morristown station. =================================== HOTEL ROOM RESERVATIONS CAN BE MADE @ http://ecthrowdown.com/hotel/ =================================== ONLINE PRE-REGISTRATION IS NOW LIVE! http://www.ecthrowdown.com/registration =================================== We will be using the same ultra-efficient pool system we used at ECT4. By ensuring that around 16 or 32 (depending on the game) people are in each bracket, pools can run very fast and very efficiently. I will be doing brackets by hand again this year in order to better guarantee that people don't have to play 2 games at once. Since we're using smaller brackets, there will be more pools available to place players in, making sure you guys don't have to be in 2 places at once. Just report to your pool, stick around for 2-3 hours depending on how you play, and you're done! If you do have to play more than one game at a time, it is YOUR responsibility to tell your pool handler that you're in another game. If you go missing for 20 minutes because you were playing in another tournament, you might get DQ'd because the handler doesn't know where you are. =================================== The games that will be held as main tournaments are as follows: Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition v2012 (Xbox 360) - $10 Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 (Xbox 360) - $10 Street Fighter X Tekken (Xbox 360) Tekken Tag Tournament 2 (PlayStation 3) - $10 Mortal Kombat 9 (PlayStation 3) - $10 Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike Online Edition (PlayStation 3) - $10 Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 (MAME on PC, sticks will be provided) - $5 King of Fighters XIII (PlayStation 3) - $10 Soulcalibur V (PlayStation 3) - $10 BlazBlue Continuum Shift Extend (PlayStation 3) - $10 Guilty Gear XX Accent Core (PlayStation 2/Or Console of Community's Choice) - $10 Darkstalkers: Resurrection (Vampire Savior) - $10 Persona 4 Arena (PlayStation 3) - $10 Skullgirls (PlayStation 3) - $10 Dead or Alive 5 (Xbox 360) - $10 This list is subject to change, but we don't think we'll be deleting any games from it unless there is barely any community support. As always, if you want to see a game run, LET US KNOW! =================================== Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition v2012 2/3 Rounds 2/3 Matches, 3/5 Winners/Losers/Grand Prize will be 70/20/10 of entry fees 1st Place Receives FREE FLIGHT to VideoXGames Qualifier in Puerto Rico Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 3/5 Matches Prizes will be 70/20/10 of entry fees 1st Place Receives FREE FLIGHT, HOTEL, AND VIP ENTRY to the VideoXGames in St. Marteen, held on July 25-28 Street Fighter X TEKKEN v2013 Default Evo Gems Enabled 2/3 Rounds 2/3 Matches, 3/5 Winners/Losers/Grand Finals Prizes will be 70/20/10 of entry fees TEKKEN Tag Tournament 2 3/5 Rounds 2/3 Matches, 3/5 Winners/Losers/Grand Finals Prizes will be 70/20/10 of entry fees 1st Place Receives FREE FLIGHT to Evolution 2013 in Las Vegas, NV, held on July 12-14 INJUSTICE: Gods Among Us 2/3 Rounds 2/3 Matches, 3/5 Winners/Losers/Grand Finals Prizes will be 70/20/10 of entry fees Mortal Kombat 9 2/3 Rounds 2/3 Matches, 3/5 Winners/Losers/Grand Prize will be 70/20/10 of entry fees Persona 4 Arena 2/3 Rounds 2/3 Matches, 3/5 Grand Finals Prize will be 70/20/10 $500 Bonus provided by Atlus! Let's get hype!!!
  17. Real talk guys, we LOVE the anime scene. Sorry about the horrific internet on Saturday. They hotel told us they "upgraded" the connection this year. I didn't even know 0.98mb up was possible on broadband. Before we contract with any hotel next year I'm going to do a speed test on my own. That stuff can not fly at any ECT anymore. You guys deserve better. Thank you to the entire anime team, St1ck, Dai, everyone who lifted a chair this weekend to help out. A million times, thank you. It wouldn't have been possible without any of you! Stick, I have your bag. Not sure if I'll be able to fit it in my Evo bag. Is it vital? Can it wait until SJ?
  18. I'm under the belief that I crashed Dustloop just now lol. Click here for the schedule: http://ecthrowdown.com/?p=1163
  19. Amadeous, please PM me with your info and I'll refund you! Dacid, you're too sick bro. Although, I feel like we're fully staffed as it is. The response last week was overwhelming lol. If we do need some extra bodies, I'll definitely let you know.
  20. First off, we want to thank all of you for pre-registering over the past few months. By pre-registering, you not only ensure your own tournament experience is more enjoyable by not having to wait in line and knowing when you have to play ahead of time, but you also make the entire staff’s lives easier. So again, thank you! The pre-registration numbers are significantly larger than last year’s. Because of this, we’re on the cusp of breaking 256 man brackets in both Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 and Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition v2012. Since we don’t want to get stuck with having to throw out a 256 man bracket in order to move into a 512 man bracket, we will be making both beforehand. Everyone who pre-registered for SF4 and UMVC3 will receive TWO pool assignments. They will receive one for if we use a 256 man bracket and one if we use a 512 man bracket. This might seem confusing, but believe us when we tell you this is going to make things go as smoothly as possible this year. We obviously won’t know which pool we’re going to use until emergency registration closes on Saturday at 10:30am, so we will make the announcement at that time. We will announce it via our Facebook and Twitter (www.facebook.com/ecthrowdown and www.twitter.com/ecthrowdown), as well as over the loudspeaker in the ballroom. In order to get things moving as quickly as possible, we will be sure to fill out the first round of pools before the rest so everyone can get to playing their matches instead of waiting around. Pool assignments for all games using pools (SF4, Marvel, SFxT, SCV, KoF13, SG, and 3rd Strike possibly) will be emailed out by Tuesday. Wednesday is the absolute latest we’d send them out. If you guys have any questions, please feel free to contact us via email, Facebook, or Twitter! NOTE: EMERGENCY ON-SITE REGISTRATION ENDS 10:30AM SATURDAY AND VENUE FEE IS $40!
  21. OK folks, since I clearly need some sleep, registration is back online until 11:59pm PST, as it said on the website originally. I'm really sorry for blasting everyone on Facebook and Twitter this morning. I got my days mixed up. You can go here to register as before: http://ecthrowdown.com/?page_id=122 Again, sorry for the confusion. I'm going to bed.
  22. We need people to run other games, not just anime. Although, if we could get two dedicated people to run Skullgirls all day Saturday, that would be just as good!
