  1. I'll edit the site and make it a little more clear. Registration through our site works identically as it does for EVO's site. You select the games and you pay through PayPal. Thanks for the input on that!
  2. I really don't know why I haven't posted this here. I've been so busy with school that I completely forgot. It was brought up on SRK whether or not we could run BBCS2 when it comes out. If it does come out before the event and you guys would rather us run that over BBCS, then we will most definitely accommodate.

The energy in that ballroom was really something else. Joe and I are really proud of the progress we've made thus far in organizing these events, and we're really pleased with what we have in store for this year. The venue has changed, but it is still in Morristown, NJ. The new venue is the Hyatt Morristown which is very close to the old venue, but in a completely different environment. There are TONS of places to eat within walking distance of this hotel (like 3 minute walks out the front door, VIEWABLE from your hotel room window). Joe and I have eaten at The Office bar and grill and their food and atmosphere is really good. Definitely a spot to hit up after the tournament ends to unwind. Here's the scoop on the hotel: Hyatt Morristown 3 Speedwell Avenue Morristown, NJ 07960 (973) 647-1234 =====MASS TRANSIT INFORMATION!!!===== To get to the hotel using mass transit, please take the Morristown Train Line from Penn Station in New York to the Morristown line. =========================== ROOMS CAN BE BOOKED!! Turns out, however, that ECT3 is too hype to contain everyone in one hotel. We've booked every single room in the Hyatt Morristown that was available our weekend and sold the place out. Please visit the link below to our website to see alternate hotels within 1 mile of our venue. Do, however, try the Hyatt Morristown link on that page as there could be a cancellation that opened up a room for you. 5. List has been updated! We're at 202 people total!
  6. OK guys, I've updated a few things in the first post. As stated earlier today, rooms must now be booked via the hotel's booking manager Christa Nayyar. Her phone number has been added to the first post. She is the ONLY ONE who is able to give the room at the discounted rate. If you try to book in any other way, you will pay $119/night. The rooms are first come first serve and there are 13 nights left in the block, so act fast! I have also added a tournament registration schedule just above the pre-registration lists. Since most tournaments start later in the day, their registrations won't be ending until much later. Please check the first post for all of the details. I will also be making a stream schedule for those who can't make it. We're aiming to stream every single game on Sunday, so it should be pretty fucking hype!
  7. Hey all, here's the latest scoop. Due to recent events, Joe and myself have decided to end our business relationship with GPX gaming. Because of this, they will no longer be providing us with setups, nor will we be guaranteeing a plane ticket to GAMME. Big Eric from Philly and his crew are going to be covering the setups Manny from GPX had originally promised us, so nothing is really changing. Also, Smash has been removed from the tournament roster for a few reasons. Mainly, there has been a lack of response from the Smash community due to costs for them to come out. Also, Manny was supposed to provide us with setups and a team to run Smash, but that's no longer possible. ========== The list has been updated to this post from all forums. We're up to 120 people in Super SF4 alone so far! I'm going to start adding people to the event in Tonamento so we can get a total count of the amount of heads coming down for the event. I do have some other exciting news though! ========== Nick/CasperOne from www.sf4answers.com has kindly donated another $250 to the Super Street Fighter IV bonus pot! That brings SSFIV up to $750 in bonus money! Thanks, Nick!! ========== There are about 17 nights available in the room block so if you haven't already, please be sure to book a room!!
  8. OK guys, big update to the first post. Here's the rundown: Joe and I have decided to divide the $1500 bonus amongst ALL games aside from Smash. These seemed to be the general consensus across all forums, and we agree with you guys. Here is the breakdown: Super Street Fighter IV - $500 Tekken 6 - $325 Melty Blood - $200 Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix - $125 Tatsunoko vs Capcom - $100 Marvel vs Capcom 2 - $100 Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike - $50 Guilty Gear XX Accent Core - $50 Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 - $50 =========== As I'm sure you've all seen on the front page of SRK this morning, ECT has been chosen as the venue for the east coast EVOLUTION 2010 qualifier for all EVO games. We are currently working on getting Marvel onto PS3 so we can have that as a qualifier too. The 1st and 2nd place winners from SSFIV, Tekken, Melty, HD Remix, and TvC will each receive a seed in this year's EVOLUTION 2010 tournament in Las Vegas. This is a supreme honor that we're ecstatic to have received, and we promise to put on one hell of a show. The winner of Super SFIV will ALSO STILL RECEIVE a full paid flight and seed to GAMME in Orlando in June AND the prize money. How could you possibly beat that prize?!!??! =========== I have updated the first post with a bunch of things, including the official ECT2 trailer by Ian Cofino, as well as our official poster by Ian Cofino and Jigsaw is FnA. We can't thank either of these guys enough for their continued work and support for this event. We have also gotten rid of BlazBlue Continuum Shift due to no console release in the near future. ============ If you guys have any questions, please feel free to post them in the thread, and be sure to post up your names and locations so we can get you all added to the pre-reg list. One last thing, rooms must be booked by April 30 in order to receive the room rate of $89/night. After April 30, the rooms shoot up to about $129/night, so I'd highly suggest getting your room ASAP!! The phone number of the hotel is in the first post (be sure to ask for the East Coast Throwdown discount!), as well as a link to book online. ============ We have said this before and we will say it many more times. Thanks for your continued support and let's make ECT2 an event to remember! Get hype!!!!!!!!!
  9. List updated!!! ====== OK guys, we have some development in some bonus prize opportunities. As of right now we have $1500 in sponsor money. FnA Gaming is putting in $1000, and UltraSpec Cables is giving $500 towards East Coast Throwdown 2. Joe and I have been throwing some ideas around and want to know what you guys would like us to do with the $1500. 1) We can spread it around various games as bonus money added to the prize pots. Just say it's $1000, we can put $500 towards SSFIV, $300 towards Tekken, and $200 towards MBAA. 2) We can use it to fly in a player (or possibly two) from Japan, Korea, California, Midwest, wherever you guys want, and then disperse the remainder into the tournament pots. Please let us know what you guys think and if you have any other ideas, please feel free to post up! GET HYPE!!!
  10. I've opened up pre-registration so please post up if you're coming by telling me your full name, nickname, and state you're coming from. Thanks!!!
  11. I added train information to the original post. Thanks for your interest!
  12. Hey guys. You can use this link to book your rooms online as well as RSVP to the event. I'll be openingup pre-registration in a few weeks. http://bit.ly/cKTx5M
  13. Rooms can now be booked at the hotel!! Book this bitch up!
  14. Added some hotel information to the first post, as well as a date change which is reflected in the thread title. Get hype!!
  15. Even if it's for a free tournament, doesn't hurt to have it on a couple of setups.

That weekend will live with Joe and myself forever. Since that weekend, people have been asking us nonstop when the next one would be. Well guys, it's here! This tournament will once again be held in New Jersey, which we feel is a central location for the Northeast to gather. The venue will be the same as last year, in the same ballroom. We got a lot of feedback on the venue last year and the consensus was that people liked it a lot. Westin Governor Morris 2 Whippany Road Morristown, NJ 07960 (973) 539-7300 =====MASS TRANSIT INFORMATION!!!===== To get to the hotel using mass transit, please take the Morristown Train Line from Penn Station in New York to the Morristown line. Book your rooms by phone at 973-451-2609. YOU MUST ASK FOR CHRISTA. She is the booking manager and is the only person capable of giving the discounted rate. Christa is available from 9am - 5pm. =========================== East Coast Throwdown 2 will be host to EVOLUTION 2K10's East Coast Qualifier for all Evo games. As of right now, Super SFIV, Tekken, Melty Blood, HD Remix, and Tatsunoko vs Capcom are getting two (2) seeds for EVO in Vegas. The 1st and 2nd place winners of each tournament will receive seeds into Round 2 of the final tournament, along with their respective prizes. If the first or second place winner of the tournament has already been granted a seed for EVO2k10, then the seed will roll over to the next person in line, i.e. 3rd place. In the rare circumstance that 3rd place already has a seed, both 5th place winners will play a 2/3 set for the seed. =========================== For more information on the Bonus Prizes, please look at each specific game's ruleset. =========================== Venue fee will be $25 Spectator fee will be $10. Spectators can play casuals and hang out, but may not enter tournaments. Parents of players do not have to pay spectator fees. Neither do girlfriends/boyfriends who don't play anything. This will be strictly enforced. The games that will be held as main tournaments are as follows: Super Street Fighter IV (PlayStation 3) - This will be the FIRST EAST COAST Super Street Fighter IV MAJOR - $10 Tekken 6 (PlayStation 3) - $10 Melty Blood: Actress Again (PlayStation 2) - $10 Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix (PlayStation 3) - $10 Tatsunoko vs Capcom (Wii) - $10 Marvel vs Capcom 2 (PlayStation 3) - $10 Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike (PlayStation 2) - $10 Guilty Gear XX Accent Core (PlayStation 2) - $10 Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 (MAME on PC, sticks will be provided) - $5 =========================== We will have about 25 PlayStation 3 setups with ACER Monitors and a few CRTs. We learned our lesson last year with the setup situation. About 10-15 of these setups are being provided by Big E from Philly and his crew. The rest is coming from NY heads. =========================== Ian Cofino will be making a special 10-15 minute cut of his feature-length documentary film, "I Got Next", and showing it at East Coast Throwdown 2. We'll run it on the projector and possibly the stream at the event. Thanks Ian!! =========================== East Coast Throwdown 2 will be streamed all weekend long by Seb from Frame-Advantage.com. Commentary will be provided by Nick/CasperOne from sf4answers.com along with various commentators for each game. We are going to be working on a strict schedule that will allow for each game to have their final matches streamed, including, for the first time at a major tournament, Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3. =========================== East Coast Throwdown 2 will be run using Damdai’s Tonamento event organizing website. =========================== One of the biggest changes for this year will be the aforementioned scheduling for games. We are going to do something that we haven’t seen at a major before. Taking a suggestion made over a steak dinner by Damdai, we will be running Super Street Fighter IV by itself as the first tournament. This means that at 3pm on Saturday, we are going to shut everything down except for the 25 PlayStation 3 setups and run the Super Street Fighter IV tournament by itself. We have worked this scenario out time and time again, and if we stick to the formula, we can have the entire tournament whittled down to Top 8 in just under 3 hours. And that’s going by a full 256 man bracket. If everyone knows that the ONLY tournament going on is SSFIV, then there is NO EXCUSE for people to be anywhere else aside from the bathroom. The logic behind this decision is simple. EVERYONE AND THEIR MOTHER PLAYS SFIV. Most, if not all, other tournament games are niche communities. There aren’t too many crossovers between Tekken and 3rd Strike, or Guilty Gear, or Melty, or any other game. The biggest time waster we see in tournaments is finding people for matches only to hear that they are playing another match in another game. We’re eradicating this problem by not giving it the chance to arise. If we start Super by 3, we can have it done by 6. This leaves about 5 hours to get the other tournaments as far as possible, if not completed to Top 8. =========================== Tournament Registration Times Super Street Fighter IV - 10:00am - 2:30pm Super Street Fighter IV Teams - 5:00pm - 6:30pm Tekken 6 - 10:00am - 5:30pm Melty Blood: Actress Again - 10:00am - 5:30pm Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix - 10:00am - 5:30pm Tatsunoko vs Capcom: Ultimate Allstars - 10:00am - 5:30pm Marvel vs Capcom 2 - 10:00am - 5:30pm Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike - 10:00am - 5:30pm Guilty Gear XX Accent Core - 10:00am - 5:30pm Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 - 10:00 - 5:30pm =========================== Tournament Rules and Scheduling Super Street Fighter IV - Starting at 3PM 2/3 Rounds 2/3 Matches, 3/5 Grand Finals Double Elimination WINNER MUST STICK WITH ULTRA THROUGHOUT THE MATCH.
