Daily Lives of High School Boys had the best first episode so far. Nisemonogatari, Amagami SS+, and Milky Holmes 2 are all good sequels. Haven't checked many other new shows yet.

Got KoF XIII, Skyrim, and a small blanket that's perfect to wrap around your shoulders while playing video games. Just gotta make some tea and I am set.

Gotta thank Zepp Museum for this last one :D My computer starts to overheat like crazy when it runs FFXIV and my PC is somewhat decent. I heard the same from a lot of other players.

Even the best PCs have trouble running that game. Whoever did the coding/optimization did a terrible job. Supposedly the overhaul will make it so that crappier PCs can run the game while higher end PCs can make it look even better.

Afraid you're gonna have to wait a long time. SE is still working on FFXIV 2.0 which might actually give you what you want if you're into MMORPGs. Take a look at the concept art for when they totally overhaul the graphics engine. But that's still not coming out for another year... In the meantime, Radiant Historia on the DS was the best RPG I played since Tales of Vesperia. Felt a lot like Chrono Cross but with the occasional BAD END.

It's a bit like purple throws. Sometimes I'll just jab people out of frog so that they air tech and then do 6a (or 5b) into an air combo or go for the air throw. But yeah, usually doesn't work in your favor. And definitely not worth giving up the corner.

You should try Suikoden II.

I actually finished that game. It is the main reason why I'm not looking forward to FFXIII-2. They both follow the same premise: Use 2 new characters throughout the whole game with the occasional monster ally looking for the old party members of the previous (and infinitely better) game. Fanfic game does fit it pretty well since everything was pretty mediocre. But who knows maybe XIII-2 will be the better game this time. I played one of the Atelier Iris games on PS2 and I just remembered about that whole deadline thing. I guess if it's more of the same just with better graphics and moe girls in frilly outfits then.... I also got a 360 for Vesperia and haven't used the system for anything since.

Very accurate assessment. I enjoyed FFXII a lot because it really exposed how simple typical RPG gameplay is. A lot of games just start becoming boring once you figure out one strategy that deals with any situation. This is why I will never look at gamefaqs again before completing an RPG. The music in FF Mystic Quest hits the nostalgia button so hard I can't hate it. Great for what it was. Final Fantasy II (NES) was a pile of crap though. Has anyone tried Atelier Totori? I'm thinking of picking that up because it looks absolutely gorgeous. Figure it would be a nice counterpoint to Dark Souls.

Magna Carta. Sexy art, but one of the shittiest battle systems I've ever seen. Couldn't bring myself to finish the game.

Yeah, this is what I've been noticing a lot lately. Pumpkin oki in general seems much weaker these days since wind regeneration encourages the use of a lot of wind at once and the regeneration of a lot of wind at once. This differs from CT days where it was generally better to do 1 or 2 wind combos and always maintain a steady stock for emergencies or pumpkin oki. In CSE (and probably ever since CS1) it feels like the best thing to do is always go for the corner carry combo when you don't have Heat. The amount of wind you regen and positioning you get by doing so always justifies the cost. Spending a lot of wind to do a non-corner carry combo is counter-productive and leaves you vulnerable or unable to do a proper combo when you do land a good hit. This basically leads to 2 optimal heatless combos if you have the wind to back it up: Midscreen corner carry - Any random hit into 5b 6c (8d x n) j.c 5b 5cc 236b 5cc frog (or just j.c 5b 3c frog if too many hits) Corner oki combo - Any random hit into frog > 5b j.c dj lv2 j.2c 5c(w)c frog dash 3c 236a dash 6b 5cc dash 3c 214c 3c frog If you do have heat, then the usual midscreen combo into BBL is fine since you get a lot of wind back. No heat and little wind? Just cut it short and go for 3c frog. I guess what I'm saying is that Rachel has a very clear gameplan nowadays. As much as I love zoning, spending wind, and making combos off random hits, not going for the corner carry will hurt you in the long run since wind regen can't keep up in the neutral game.

I can wait for this. Ever since CSE nerfed Tsubaki's DP>dive whiff combos, I'll probably be going back to Rachel and Rachel only again. Those were so fun - why did they have to take that out? So sad.

FFA doesn't have any arcade setups for BB currently. They do have console tournaments on certain weekends, but I'm not sure on the schedule. GG is actually bigger than BB at FFA nowadays since that still has an arcade setup. I want to go more but I tend to be busy on weekends. I happen to be an expert on this topic. Anime 14? No way. Anime 14 is like Rei or Asuka from Evangelion. When you consider that most Japanese don't consider middle school girls as lolis, Rachel is probably 12 years old physically at most. Anything in the 10-12 range would be accurate, imo.

Childhood friend Zelda is so anime. It's about time Nintendo. Now just need a tsundere, ojousama, milf, and some lolis and the harem will be complete. Also started playing UMvC3 and got bored within an hour. No motivation to play any of the new Capcom fighters.

I like Chihayafuru because you can't help but root for kids trying to start a club for competitive games. Karuta is even more obscure than anime fighters ; ;
