Was looking at the ground throw combo listed. Any hints for getting that to connect on a back throw? Currently i'm just doing 214B after the throw because its easy to connect with and has similar damage. Also, if you throw into a corner, replace the 6C with 2C because they'll bouce off the wall over the 6C. EDIT: I got it on the back throw, wasn't waiting long enough.

He has two drive attacks that aren't clouds. One is his spitting thing which if you aren't cursed already isn't much of a threat, though I think it is a low attack. the one that always gets me is his jump drive that attacks out of the ground. Its quite unpredictialbe though he has to be almost directly above you. Its the one reason that 2C is a bit of a dangerous anti-air against him.

3 stars isn't bad? Thats almost as much as an over drive. Is his spitting attack a projectile? It might not be, thats the only thing that might be counterable in his corner trap.

Sorry, I meant octo then. I've tried playing on sticks with a square gate, and can't input anything right XD. I'm kinda confused as to what models/brands/price ranges I should be looking at though. I read the first page of the thread, but I really don't want to be apending 200$ on something I know almost nothing about.

A reasonable* overhead? *reasonable being defineind as one that does not use stars.

Is it possible to combo off of Haku's air throw? I've been doing 2147B-> air throw, and currently I can't find anything that hits before the person can tech, but I think I'm not throwing low enough to the ground (I know that I can get it lower with practice).

Thats the best description of Haku I've heard. Also, He might be patient, but he also has an epic air dash.

Can anyone point me towards a good starter stick for PS3? Compatibility on other systems (especially PC and wii) would be a plus. I would prefer an 8 way gate If anyone even sells them...

yeah, I still don't know all the links. My stragety in this is usually let the opponent close, and either go for a counter and start blocking and look for a gap for a low counter. Usually j.C is pretty easy to counter if you jump into it.

5-5 you kidding? this matchup is 10-0! Haku always wins! (as it should be) Ironically I lose agaisnt other haku players more than even against arakune or nu.

From what I've seen online, this matchup basically involves waiting for arakune to make a mistake and punishing it. I like super jumping in at the start of the match to see if I can catch arakune if he tries to make a homing cloud at the start (no idea if this is actually a good idea, but it seems to work outside of the competitive level). If he manages to curse you and trap you in a corner, do whatever it takes to get out, even if it means taking unnecessary hits. If he starts his spitting loop, theres very little haku can do. I'd take this over Nu or Rachel any day.

Her lockdown can be broken through with proper timing. Arakune and Nu have to make a mistake before you can get in. Even so, I'd take Arakune over Rachel any day. Fighting him can actually be fun because of the mindgames he plays with teleports and shit. Rachel is just annoying. I've only fought three Nu players online. Only one of them was competent though. (one of the others was the shortest fight I've ever had. She was dead before she hit the corner.)

This match seems pretty even even if I hate it. (Ragna's the only character i hate playing as and against.) I can't comment much as I've only seen one competent ragna player online.

Any suggestions for this matchup? I'm currently playing it ultra defensive and waiting for a counter, but that means taking a beating in the process.

Different characters have different life totals. V-13 is the lowest in the game, and if she had bursted thats an additional 30% damage.

Are there any specific moves that I should be looking to punish on guard? I still haven't figured out her block strings.

I haven't seen a single v-13 player online yet (well other than the two times I used her). I love haku because of how simple his inputs are, so I can concentrate of screwing the opponent over and not fighting with my controller. (god i need to get a stick...) I'm wondering if we can get some more matchup specific threads? I'd like to see some stuff of haku vs. jin because of how common jin players are. I need a better way of punishing his 236D. Currently I'm just blocking and following with 3C. I can never seem to time my counters right to hit it for some reason.

EX Anji is arguably worse than his normal version. Venom and Axl having charge moves as 236 is a bit insane though.

Why did noone ever tell me this before?

Just had something kinda strange happen with this move. I was playing against venom in arcade mode, and I don't know if I dashed in or not, but I did 63214S without FRCing (mainly because I sti,l haven't learned axl's frc windows other than koku). Anyways, when it hit, the move didn't cross up, sending venom flying in the same direction I did, but I landed on the opposite side of him as if it had crossed up. This cause him to push against me, giving me a KD that I could have punished without FRCing Raei. I don't know if anyone could reproduce this, but it seems like it might? be half-useful? possibly?
