I'll run it back a few pages to Gravelneed's post: Judging from watching waaaaay to many videos and readings some combos, I'll pretty much agree with that. Though it's all opinion.

Can we get some more videos of the Punishment Arcana in action? There's only a handful on YouTube any they don't feature it really prominently. I don't understand it; it seems like a damn good Arcana from what I've read.

Guilty Gear was showing no signs of continuation. Heard BlazBlue was Arc's new project/used the same engine. So I bought it. Now ask me what got me out of it.

I'll concur with being surprised if Aksys doesn't localize it. They made the poll, they put Arcana Heart 3 up there themselves, it's leading by a huge margin. Plus, they have really strong business ties with Arc. It's just a question of: "how long will this take?"

I'll go with ArcanaBlaze.com. AdventAngels.com actually isn't a bad suggestion. Just not LolitaHeart.com. Nobody wants to get v& over Arcana Heart on week one.

Mm. Possibly. Say that's true, could anybody drop their two cents in on a "required execution level" tier list? Like top tier being a "break your hand to use them" character, bottom tier being Ryu? I'd just sort of like to know where everyone stands. Gravelneeds list was sort of deceptively simple. Or maybe I'm over-thinking it.

Okay, I have a general understanding of what "technical character" means in basically every fighting game, which is usually just some backwards way of saying "high execution skills required". Haha, any chance in AH3 this means something different? Just since "none of the characters are really that hard to play". Lulz. I just always seem to be attracted to "technical" characters, Testament/Venom/Dizzy in GG, and nobody in BlazBlue. And Lieselotte is far and away #1 at holding my interest in AH3. It'd be awesome if I could like a character that would allow me to relax for once.

No. No it hasn't been explained tons in this thread. It's been said that "LOL FRCs ARE AWESOME" and the occasional comment thrown in about how no FRCs would change the game dramatically with no further explanation. They're not needless execution barriers, but that's how it's perceived by a lot of new players. Totally badass combos, set-ups, whatever created by FRCing the applicable move is your reward for spending one or two weeks of your life pounding the points of FRC into your muscle memory. My point in the latter part of my post was that you should be able to opt out of an FRC and go for a different scenario rather than the current build of being much better off FRCing than you are by not doing it in almost every situation. But my biggest point was as follows: It wouldn't be as bad as a lot of people think. Or maybe the removal of FRCs from Guilty Gear is directly correlated to the warning of apocalypse in 2012. I know exactly as much as you do about the future of Guilty Gear. Which is dick. Certainly I'd favor it to be forever and always the Guilty Gear I fell in love with years ago. But the theoretical removal of FRCs is near the bottom of my list of possible changes to climb a clocktower over, of all the things they could potentially fuck up.

I think she's not that popular because her chain attacks have ridiculously thin hit boxes and zero clash frames. Of course I have zero basis for pegging those items as the reasons other than what I've seen in videos, but they seem the most likely. But the Scharlachrot players I've seen do quite well for themselves. Also, she's got a super that looks like Axl's IK. Resembling Axl Low in anyway is the formula for unpopularity. EDIT: And she's not low on the tier lists... there are some discrepancies between lists regarding her placement. But she's almost always up there. EDIT 2: Lastblade ninja'd me. Fuck.

I don't particularly care if FRCs stay or get tossed. But I've never liked them. They exist primarily to incentivize masturbation amongst the combofiends and piss off a sizable chunk of beginners to the point they don't even want to play. Keep in mind, what I'm about to say comes to you as a Testament player. It might be different for your character, but I doubt it: I'd be a huge fan of FRCs if they added depth. I can do a sexebeast and FRC into rape. Or, I can do a sexebeast and not FRC... and then do what (Badlands doesn't count, pretend this is #R or Slash)? My options are infinitely better on FRC than not, so there's no point in not spending that meter. Now if FRCs worked like: "here's the FRC point, I can hit the FRC and do A which will result in X or I can not hit the FRC and do B which will result in Y", then they would be so infinitely amazing your girlfriend would get pregnant just by watching you play this game. Simplifying the game's mechanics will result only in more people to play against. Yes, it will rob you of your ability to say "My fighting game requires far more execution skill than yours does, therefore, my penis is much larger." Say the mechanics of the game do get nerfed a bit, then yes, there will be some riff-raff (not a lot; this is still Guilty Gear), but you'll still be able to mow them down as goddammit, the mechanics were simplified, not your character. It's the simplification of the characters that you have to worry about. If that happens, we'll just be playing BlazBlue with hotter women and Bridget. BlazBlue characters are just gimmick'd out RTSDs and zoners as a general rule. Guilty Gear has a lot, a fucking lot of nuance that isn't tied to FRCs. Your game and characters won't get raped because of more accessible execution standards. Just the smug elitist sense of self-satisfaction that comes with playing possibly the most technically difficult fighting game ever created that every single Guilty Gear player has derived enjoyment from whenever a variation on the sentence "Being a Street Fighter tourneyfag is like being really great at having down syndrome" has left their mouths. What makes BlazBlue suck is not the game itself. You can trace the suckitude back to the fact 85% of the roster is so terminally boring that Russian Roulette looks like it would be more entertaining. A game consisting of the Guilty Gear characters that you all know and love with BlazBlue's mechanics (basically Guilty Gear - FRCs) and you've got a good game. But if they simplify the characters, or just change the more complicated ones into linear rushers and zoners, then yeah, it's pretty much over.

At this point I don't even care if Accent Core has a balance change if it hits current-gen consoles (Badlands loop is so gay, though - Lulz) just so long as the netcode is good. Or that it's even there at all. Lack of online support will make it really hard for most people to get into this.

Oh, I'm not admonishing any character here. When I first heard about this game, all I wanted to see was Kirakirakirakirakirakira. She's just a really awesome design. So is Eko. It's like the people at Examu started drawing shit after finding out a way to get high on Skittles and the adhesive on Hello Kitty stickers. As I saw more, I grew more interested in Lieselotte "You Totally Cannot Prove ASW Ripped Me Off To Design Carl Clover" Achenbach, Kamui "Haku(wo)men?" Tokinomiya and Angelia "Why Do I Bear Such A Strange Resemblance To Jirachi?" Avallone. And yeah, I've got a friend that really resents the lack of Nazuna videos.

I can get metric fucktons of videos for almost every other character, but there's a total lack of Angelia vids in comparison. Especially in the face of this Kira fetish that's flying around. Man is that chick popular.

Not a quality issue, it's just that I've already seen all of them (or at least 99%).
