Codes are always region locked to the region of the game it's for. Been that way forever with games.

Note to everyone about game sharing and online passes. You can game share the game just fine digitally, but you can NOT share the online pass. The account that didn't purchase the game digitally will have to buy the online pass for 1000 yen (no clue on HK price) through their own JP/HK account. That means if you want to play online you have to use an account with the same region as your game (JP/HK). Of course if you have no plans on playing online then you can use whatever region account you want to play the offline modes. When you try to go into a Ranked/Player Match you'll be prompted for your online pass. The left option is for manual code entry (if you bought the physical version), and the right option is to purchase the digital online pass. If you are using an account that purchased the digital version of the game then just pick the right option and go through the prompts to get your online pass at no cost. If you game shared and are on a different account then pick the right option and pay for your pass.

Arcades are getting the update in March. Vita is April 24th. PS3 most likely will be a month or two behind the Vita.

EU is different. They have to do LE's to make people purchase two year old games.

I don't remember the portable ones getting a LE. They usually get drama cd's as the preorder bonus.

The same thing happen with CS1 to CS2. Portable and arcade had it exclusively for almost 2 months. Thank heavens I been playing pad. \ o/

Your question fueled it and there has been no announcements of any more patches. If you don't see a lot of people talking about it here then it's a fake rumor. If you own a PS3 i'd recommend either importing BBCP or waiting till the US release of BBCP in March. BBCSE and BBCP are a lot different. BBCP is a much better game overall. You won't find much to anyone left playing BBCSE on PS3. If money is concerned then maybe try picking up P4U cheap. There are still people playing it and P4U2 should be out on console in the middle of this year.
