  1. What tool do you use to get the nice round front/back pieces for the stick? The Fighting Stick's are really bad, don't get one. Go for a Hori EX if you need a cheap stick. No.
  2. Everything I've been told says PS2 games played on PS3 will lag no matter what, even running at 480i. The 'ideal' solution at this point is a Dual PS2/360 stick since PS2>PS3 converters are fine and not too hard to get.
  3. He has red color when he is updated. But yeah I think 360/PS3 gamertags like SRK has is probably a good idea.
  4. Yes probably. They were turned on by default since they were a new feature so I figured I'd just let them roll for a while and see how things went.
  5. I think the ideal solution is adhesive vinyl. That's what they use on arcade machines usually anyway. Might want to check the thickness of the material though.
  6. Fighting Sticks are really nasty and you'll have to do a bit of modding to get your replacement stick in there. I have no idea if a Seimitsu sticks will work or not but Sanwa will. There's some threads on SRK about this actually.
  7. Those things are mega cheapo sticks and probably the PCB is damaged, the cord is damaged, some buttons are damaged, or a combination of those. The good news is those are easy to mod, so you'll want to swap out the guts for some real Sanwa/Seimitsu parts and whatever PCB you want to throw in there. Find someone with a broken Tekken5 HRAP and see if that plate is the same size. You should be able to swap them, although you have to do some minor tweaks to get buttons to fit.
  8. Working for me. Youtube can just be retarded some times.
  9. Not much of a trick to it, just timing on the cancel. Use a combo like this one: ...CD 6, 5C AC > 2369D, j.B |> 2C > IAD j.D j.236C, (j.2369C)*8, j.2369D |> 236236A All you do is cancel directly from the j.D into the special for the first one, and then for each one after you Tiger Knee the next one fast enough so you get no jump, the next move just comes out. What kind of a 'wiff' are you getting? Jumping up? Move just not hitting?
  10. Here's the full set that came from, and yes, that's the single most awesome HnK match I've ever seen. http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm4887300
  11. I will never get people who don't just do 6321473 for TK DPs. It's just so easy to do, and it does them really low to the ground.
  12. They can shake out of the Giganter before the bullet hits if you combo into it on the ground though, so be careful.
  13. Yup. There are some big differences between the two, especially for Heart. His throw infinite works on different characters between the two.
  14. Juda is practically top tier. He has so much insane bullshit and unblockable setups, he can basically run the whole round for free if he gets one good hit in. Kenshiro is good too, but he doesn't have the same level of insane BS. Heart kind of just depends on what version of the game you play and what player side you are on.
  15. Raoh has been in the top tier at least a few times over the course of the game. Frankly given that pretty much any random hit leads to an infinite, that shouldn't really be a surprize.
  16. Rei is generally assumed to be the best in the game at this point. Toki, Raoh, and Juda all pretty much sit on the Rape tier as well though, they are all pretty equally good at raping the shit out of you. I dunno what the exact way the lower tiers look, but Jagi is the worst in the game, followed by Thouther and then Mamiya.
  17. If you mean you can't do 6 j.Ds in a row by themselves, yes you can, you can do that on anyone in the game and it's not even that hard to do. Also feel free to link me to whatever '#Reload Astray' is so I can see how he does the combo without a j.S.
  18. You have to use j.S because you can't NJC from j.D to j.D. You can do it closer to the corner with just j.Ds, but you can do it from almost the opposite corner with j.S instead. And yes you can dustloop all of those characters. You just can't do it nearly as easily or get as many reps. Generally I could only get 6 j.D's on a character like Jam and only with tight timing, although I'm sure it's possible to get more.
  19. No character is too light to dustloop with a good setup, it just gets really hard to do with certain setups on certain characters, and the number of hits can be limited. With proper setup on some characters, you can also do: .. 2D, BR(1) RC, j.S, NJC j.D, j.D |> ... That Dustloop setup works from almost 2/3 of the way across the field because the Normal Jump Cancel keeps your air speed. I think you need to Jump Install in #R though so don't forget that. Also don't remember exactly where and when this is useful, but from some setups at mid screen you can do: ... j.D, air dash, j.K j.D |> ... Which gets you a no tension dustloop setup from mid screen, although the timing is really hard of course. Also don't forget Bandit Revolver loop. :I
  20. That is bizarre as hell. Very cool. As far as the Mayflash goes, you could probably just drill some holes in the top and mount it with bolts on the top. I haven't even seen the inside of one though so I don't really know the specifics of it. You might need a different mounting plate for the Sanwa to do so.
  21. I think they are two different things... NJC is kind of a glitch that causes you to not change direction or momentum when you jump cancel, and JI/JC on the ground doesn't do that.
  22. I dunno if this is still true in AC or not, but in older games there was something on moves where the first FRC frame was on the first active frame of a physical hit, if you FRCed too early you could actually get an RC during the FRC frames. You could do it with Baiken's j.D and Potemkin's Hammerfall among other things.
  23. I noticed trouble getting to the site too. Not sure what is up, I'll have to look into how to analyze traffic patterns and such ...
  24. What's the exact execution for doing those backwards specials? Do you want to input the special move on the frame you hit the ground?
  25. The only thing that might be a problem to mod would be if you wanted to swap out the stick and it had a funny mounting plate. You can probably work around that though, although the result might not be super clean (ie you might have to drill some holes for bolts). Happ sticks aren't anything remotely like Japanese sticks, they don't have restrictor plates or anything, they use completely different switches and the mechanisms are very different. Also Happ sticks are huge in terms of depth so you probably can't fit it anyway. Sanwa JLF sticks have octagonal plates you can get. The circular ones are JLW only, and you probably don't really want one of those. You don't want to use your sticks without some sort of gate. Seimitsu sticks have these weird 2-layer plastic gate things. The top layer has 4 and 2 way settings on them, but you can actually just remove that part as it doesn't do anything for normal 8-way operation. You DON'T want to remove the whole gate setup as that will fuck up your stick really quick. The short answer though, is get used to the square gates. Either that or buy/make a Happ stick and use that instead.
