If you intend to use a stick in the future at all, get a stick as soon as possible so you can start understanding one and how they move and respond. Don't get used to a different type of controller such as the fightpad because that will only delay you further. Whatever you do, do not get one of these: http://img520.imageshack.us/img520/4669/img0126b.jpg They are trash and you'll need to replace the buttons within a day of use. Papstr knows this. I gave him one of my old ones. =D I really recommend that Hori you picked out, dude. That one is, apparently, the "Special Edition" of my personal one. It'll serve you well and it'll last. If you want to wait, I can let you try mine out on the 22nd and see how it feels. I still have some of the stock Hori buttons on there that I didn't switch out for Seimitsu's.

I was given the OK by Jason before when I asked him and I just now re-verified. The following is the text: "Website should be updated and that venue is yours that sat Yes that is taken care of u will get the spot". We'll be fine, guys. Edit: www.gamegalaxyarcade.com has been updated to reflect the $5 entry fee for the tournament and the $10 venue fee. @Cyner: it's good. It's very similar to the Hori I have. Recommended. @Eshi: we'll take care of you! Ask around if you have a 4 hour drive, I'm sure you can find one of our lovely players to house you guys for a night.

That looks very similar to my stick, however those are all Hori parts(which aren't bad) and i've switched out the buttons for my own. I've got Seimitsu buttons in my Hori, if you want my opinion. I like the click they make and their feel on taps. Sanwa's are a bit quieter and they feel different. I need to remember to get a new balltop.

It really, REALLY does. I don't understand why they haven't separated it into regions. Bring VTS and Seif, man! I already sent VTS a pm a while back, but he never responded. I'd love to see all of you guys again. Heck, you could even split gas. I know Fizz plays the game and maybe some more of Runaway 7 does. If you can get a hold of them and tell them about this, i'd love to see them all and play with them, too. I knew you were my Cyner. <3

Happy new year, MTNBB! May the Middle Tennessee Needs... community grow to be awesome and cool and let us do lots of awesome things! Cyner, bring lots of people! Don't you know Fizz and the rest of Runaway 7? ...Or am I thinking of a different Cyner?

I love this community. You guys are hilarious. Updated first post to reflect current venue.

New drinking game: Whenever Astaroth 360's or Atomic Collider's someone, you take a shot. 720s, you take two. Astrals, you take a glass. New drinking game 2: Whenever Midnight talks about winning, you take a shot. You'll be on the floor by the next hour. New drinking game 3: Whenever Milln says he has an idea, take a shot.

Ive just been informed that, not only can we definitely have the staging room, but (for those of you that have been in it before) there's nothing in it anymore which gives us even more room and outlets! I request that -everyone- bring a setup to play on. If you cannot, at least chip in a surge protector, please. Not booth babes, but I have a neat announcement system you guys might find amusing. COSPLAY AS BANG. WE NEED TO SEE DEM HIPS! It would also be amusing to see you lug around a giant nail all day.
-
Tyrant, you are my new friend. Okay, i'll get in touch with Game Galaxy and request the Staging Room and we'll be giddy with excitement. Teams is fun. I've also been kind of mulling over an idea in my head for another silly game type. But what I meant with "more options for me as a TO" was I can bring in more equipment and do more things to create a better environment.
-
Arakune and Carl can. *thumbs up* Dude if we can get everyone on board and realize how amazing the larger venue is, it'll not only open up more setup options but give ME more options as a TO to make this a crapton better experience.

Purple throws do more damage.
-
I took the liberty of producing a diagram to better explain the benefits of The Staging Room versus our current allowance of space. One would be able to make a more informed decision with this. I feel that this diagram is very efficient.

I think a certain Cool Blue Ragna might have to throw a couple thousand sharks at you, Midnight. Depends on if he's had his Pyramid Cafe Rice beforehand. Sup Pickle!
-
Tell people about it and they will. Awareness and Word of Mouth is usually the best marketing.

TOURNAMENT IS OVAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!! Top8 1st: Midnight(Litchi/Mu) 2nd: Kyle(Carl) 3rd: Naifunka(Bang) 4th: Matthias(Tager) 5th: Zeno(Hakumen) 5th: Astaroth(Tager) 7th: Milln(Ragna) 7th: JackieChandler(Ragna) Now with a youtube channel! http://www.youtube.com/user/MTNGNetwork for all videos of the happenings and goings on. ============================================================ Time for the second one! THE SEQUEL. Therefore: WHERE ARE ALL THE PEOPLE THAT PLAY BLAZBLUE IN MIDDLE TENNESSEE? AT COLLEGE? I call bs. I know that crap let out like a month ago. You're coming to the Game Galaxy Arcade in Antioch, Tennessee to beat the tobacco juice out of each other in some BureiBuru! Tell all your friends! I don't wanna hear any distance excuses. Whendafuk? Just like last time; Signups start at 11:30(approximately). If you're bringing equipment, I need you here earlier. Tournament should start at Noon(approximately). We will stay on schedule as much as possible. I need every participant at the scene directly at 11:30. Please be prompt, guys. Venue opens up at either 9 or 10. Closes at either 9 or 10. Hickory Hollow's Extended Mall hours aren't routine. Wheredafuk? Game Galaxy (inside the mall) 5252 Hickory Hollow Parkway, Antioch, Tennessee 37013 Rules n' Shiz Hosting on Xbox360, setups are encouraged. We want as many as possible. If you're coming, please bring a 360(we'll put your name on it in case we have some unsavory types) with a game, tv and component cable or better. Do NOT come in here with composite(That's the yellow stuff)cables on a flatscreen tv. Please confirm with me if you can bring one. If you have a wireless controller it has to have a sync cable attached throughout the whole set and must be turned off after the set is finished. - You may not pause during a match unless your hair is on fire. - First to 2 wins, Best 2 out of 3 rebels - First to 3 wins, Best 2 out of 3 rebels for finals games (losers, winners, grand) - Double elimination so don't get emo if you lose once. - Time limit will be at 99. - Makoto and Valkenhayn are allowed. - No Unlimited Characters - No Beginner Mode Food: Out and to the right is whatever food you can handle. We'll probably take a break after Winner's or Loser's Semifinals for some grub. That being said, please try to remember not to bring food or drink inside the arcade. Group vote for IHOP or Steak N' Shake afterward. Money things Entry fee is 5 bucks, Venue fee is an additional 10 Bucks. Money Matches can be scheduled in or out of tournament. Let me know and we'll hype that shiz. We will migrate to a much bigger room i'll call "The Staging Room" with more space and we can have all the setups we want that we don't have to take down. See below for a visual aid. Depending on how many people get signed up, we'll divvy the winnings differently. Looking like Winner- 50%, 2nd- 35%, 3rd- 15%. Figure A was our previous situation with a limit of three setups. Two needed to be taken down after the tournament, which doesn't conduce well for friendlies or screwing around with team stuff. Figure B, as you can see, is a much larger space with more room to GET HYPE in and allowing many more setups for friendlies, draft teams, and other junk. Obviously, The Staging Room is superior.

We had to go down to one tv because, even though the venue operators loved us and respected us and how we rolled, the Street Fighter players needed to play their game, too. We couldn't bust out any tvs due to space constrictions. HOWEVER, like I said before we started, if we start drawing a huge crowd, we can move to the (i'mma call it the staging room) and that'll increase venue to ten dollars, but then we can have as many fuggin' setups as we want. Also, don't make me 5B you in the chest for saying my name wrong. It's a cardinal sin. Hit me up for Boro BB. I'll play the crap out of some Mark of the Wolves, too. I'm glad this was so successful and such a hit.

oh, right. Sorry, forgot Tsubaki was a character.

Shoutouts: Astaroth: Of course, yo. As for giving you heads up when the Wheel of Hype is Turning? I can't promise that. XDD Middy: Good work, man. Next time will definitely be a whole new game. I'll actually be in practice and be able to get somewhere, and lots of new matchup information to discover. Niamat: Jin? TK that C Sword, man. I'm telling you it's where it's at. JackieChandler: Awesome on the recording. PM me or link it here when you get the vids up. I've already talked to you about Ragna and sharks. Tyrant Rave: Conversing with you was pretty fun. Thanks for helping out with trying to hype/commentate on Finals match. =D Papstr: You did really well, man. I'm proud of you and your group! LastStarSavior: You did really well for your first tournament! Congratulations man, we'll see you next meet up! Tad: Dat Noel. We need to play more often, dude. Talking with you is awesome. The Group as a Whole: Thank you very much for coming out and playing. I'm pretty sure everyone had a fantastic time. We'll do it again in January or February. Amon Networks: For having the only bracket application worth anything on iPhone. Couldn't have progressed as smoothly as we did without BracketBuddy. Pyramid Cafe: For having amazing rice and for having staff that went beyond the normal calling of a typical "fast food restaurant" and actually coming out to us and refilling our drinks. I was amazed and would have tipped if I could. ---- I'll be posting brackets and results up on the main post as soon as I make a cute little MSPaint thing for them since BracketBuddy currently doesn't have an upload function. Boooo. ----

And a grand time was had by all. Tune in next time for videos, brackz, and a more detailed This Was Awesome post with shoutouts.

OMG YOU GUYS IT'S TOMORROW. See you all there with awesome stuff. 11:30 is signups, 11:50 is cutoff and no longer accepting entries. 12:00 is start time. Hopefully it'll go according to plan. Random Arcade shiz. I'll money match anyone in Bust-A-Move Versus, or Come On Baby. Or we can do Nick Arcade Style MM's, which is to see who gets the furthest or has the highest score in a certain amount of seconds or lives in random games.
