So basically, he's trying to avoid gaps where Ragna can DP out of. I think this is a good idea, as a momentum shift in this match-up can be bad news for Relius. It's also worth noting that he uses 236D oki in corner instead of a more traditional 214C or even a safe jump set up after 3C. Again, to defend against DP. I'll check out the rest of the matches tomorrow.

Unless Coopa was trolling during that entire match, regardless of who 2GB Combo is, 2GB Combo was James Xie in that match. James Xie plays Platinum though, and while he can play other characters, it looks like he only mains Platinum. I actually don't like how Relius approached that match against Bang to be honest. I thought he was a little too aggressive without Ignis to cover him in neutral. If you notice, outside of his 2C usage (and one time with 2B), he loses in neutral every single time to Dacid and is being forced on defense way too often. Relius was getting almost all of his damage either through defense or momentum shifts from defense directly into offense. If it weren't for his solid defense in this match, it actually would have been a lot more lopsided than it actually was. EDIT: I saw the first match with Shadow against Hazama. He approached it exactly the way I thought Relius would (very difficult to battle at neutral, goes on offense ASAP) which is also how Onii approaches this match-up. This is also a good vid to highlight how hard it is to get a clean hit on someone with Relius during pressure and how much meter you have to use up sometimes to get it.

Mmm, I think the biggest problem in those matches was my lack of character knowledge of Platinum and Jin. I didn't know what either character could do at any range at neutral and I didn't know how to defend against their block strings. I figured that I wasn't going to beat you, so I ratherswell study one aspect of the match (defense) and see how you react to certain things. I saved a few of the replays and I'll be studying them up. This isn't to say my offense was great either, but I'm more concerned about defense and what I can do in neutral right now. Offense is something I can practice totally on my own. I'm just glad you didn't play like other people who come into my room by trolling me with half the cast. I can't learn any match-ups if people are constantly switching characters...

GGs Moy, I'm sorry for being so free, I'm still a beginner to this game.

GGs 830, those matches were fun. I know you liked my yomi full screen super to beat astral. Hm, I still think I'm pretty awful, but I think I'm making ok progress for playing the game for a week. -
I want to hear your guys thoughts on this, reading Dusk's latest post made me think of it. This is assuming that you are midscreen, Ignis is not out, and you are starting the combo with 2A (I guess the most common scenario this would be is on defense). I personally don't like the 2A-2A-6B... combo listed on the combo page because you have to be basically point-blank for the 6B to hit. I've been using 2A-2A-5B-(3C)-236C-214A, but I didn't like the meter/damage/positioning trade-offs you got from this combo because of the horrible proration from 2A. So I've been toying with the idea of doing 2A-2A-5B-3C-214C. This forces them into an emergency tech situation, where if they don't tech, they get tagged by the 214C into an ok combo (but more importantly, better oki position). If they do tech, they are forced to block (aside from reversals) and you can go straight into pressure. What do you guys think? Is this a bad idea?

GGs to KisekiUnmei who bodied and trolled me with half the cast and killed any kind of confidence I had in this game, lol. Maybe one day I'll learn this game...

GGs RIL, I got bodied by the guy for the next 10 or so matches after you left, so you didn't miss much. I think we're playing the wrong game, lol. Shoutouts to BBQ and RIL for being the first people I've played that intentionally tried to TRM me, lol. We need more footsies. -

Hm, Blazblue netplay feels really unstable. I keep getting disconnected with this guy. EDIT: GGs BBQ, it almost felt like we were playing a different game with all those footsies, lol. Too many time out wins too. -
I made a mistake, the gold burst combo I posted is not what Kaigu was attempting on doing. He was doing: Gold Burst-5B-2C-6C-214A-IAD-j.A-j.B-j.8D-sj.B-j.236C-j.214B Which is what I've seen Tori do. It actually does 100 less dmg than the combo I posted though and uses more Ignis meter. It does offer better corner carry though. I guess it's a nice coincidence that the combo I posted still works though.

@Dusk: Yea, Onii makes some ballsy plays sometimes, and I do think you need to have that mentality on offense with Relius in order to be successful, but there are times when his arrogance backfires and costs him the match. He's definitely one of the more entertaining Relius though. @Kurushii: Sure, I specifically look out for Relius matches that get posted in the general video thread, so I'll post them all here when I have the time for convenience sake. EDIT: Here's Kaigu's match. Player: Kaigu VS: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IRQ9ok0toqQ Kaigu does some cute stuff.

GGs to everyone who bodied me tonight. I am learning, kind of.

2GB Combo is James Xie. He plays Platinum. EDIT: Player: TORI VS: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X4iqzw7PJ9Q#t=3m24s TORI losing to Platinum. Player: Onii VS: & http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bbKnyqUxPYs Onii putting on a show. Player: Kyuu @ ninja (what an odd name) VS: & http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=an8bMmv1xEI I actually like how he played in these matches, although he makes a few critical errors against Ragna that cost him the match. EDIT: Fixed the smilies, also posted Kaigu's match down below.

Does anyone have any advice on hit-confirming a 5B straight into a 236C? I find that the majority of time, I can only do a 236C follow-up after my 5B, but I'm having a tough time confirming straight into it without something else inbetween. I don't have as much trouble hit-confirming into 3C. I'm already trying to practice on random block, but if anyone has any tips or tricks, then I'd be much obliged. EDIT: A non-CH 5B that is, I can hit confirm a CH 5B.

I'll netplay with you sometime. EDIT: RIL, I may be good for the 16th, what time will you start up? EDIT 2: lol, I am so free at this game, 1-22 for the night. -
Thanks for the combo, I'll gladly take 4.6k. You can do 236C-66-6B, but it blue beats on 2C, at least, it did for me.

The j.B-dj.B-j.C version does 2739 dmg.

I didn't see this listed in the technical or combo threads (and it isn't on the wiki), so I'll just post Kaigu's gold burst combo he did in a vid that someone posted recently: Gold Burst-2C-6C-214A-66-6B-sj.B-dj.B-j.C-j.236C-j.214B If you want to save an AD, you can do j.8D-j.236C-j.214B instead, or cut out the j.8D altogether.

If you hit the opponent with a 214C OTG in the corner, what are your best options to follow-up? I'm looking for a meter efficient option, and a damage option (it would be great if they could be both...). Note: You can't follow-up with 5C-236C (236C whiffs), 6C-236C (236C whiffs), 2C-236C (see a pattern here?). You can't combo 214A after 236C raw (Ignis still recovering from 214C). 5B blue beats, you can't delay 2C or 6C a little or it'll blue beat. You can 6B-JI-j.236C, but you can't 2C-6C-4D (2C blue beats), although you can do raw 4D afterwards. Am I stuck with a 6B jump cancel combo or a gimped St1ckbug special as my only follow-ups?
