  1. That's ok, we accept Toan in here as one of our own.
  2. I disagree with that. In my eyes a "bad" character is either flawed on a fundamental level or someone who just isn't playable at any kind of competitive level. You can win with Relius, just like I feel you can win with Makoto, it's just that your odds of winning with them at the highest levels are lower compared to a stronger character. This isn't really the case with say, Sean from 3rd Strike, you can't really win with him at the highest levels unless you're just so much better than everyone else that it didn't matter who you used. In my eyes, you're referring to an underpowered character, which I agree that Relius is. That's just my opinion.
  3. Hm, I guess I'll just learn Bang then...I either need another character to learn or a different game to keep myself sharp, but I just can't find another character in BB I tolerate, I guess Bang would be ok.
  4. Relius isn't a bad character, it's just that other characters can do what he does more efficiently and with better rewards. Relius just needs a few tweaks and he could easily be a strong character. Compared to Rachel from CS1, Relius is pretty good. I'm not quite sure I would say he's on the level of Tsubaki/Makoto, but if he's better than them, it's only marginally so. When I win with Relius it's either because the other player didn't know what was going on, or because I was the better player that match, that's how I feel at least.
  5. GGs cookiehour and batousaij.
  6. Alright, my staph infection is going away, so maybe I'll play fighting games again. BBQ, how is MBAACC? I'm thinking of trying that out along with getting worse in BB. I think I had it when it came out, but I couldn't get it to work on my computer... GGs to antibiotics, BGs to bacteria.
  7. How many guys usually come to your room Arc? Maybe I'll come out of retirement and play some games.
  8. When I'm not sick, let's play some games Judgelight.

  10. Well guys, I think I may have contracted a skin infection. If that's the case, I'll be MIA for a few weeks.
  11. Is there a reason why 6 NJ players (and if you include Batousai, 7) have posted on netplay threads but have never shown their face here or voice interest in offline meet-ups? Having 6 additional players would be kind of cool.
  12. IMO, Relius only really needs two things to make him significantly better: -A way to control space horizontally in the air. If Relius had an option like this, his 2C, even as is, would become more effective as an anti-air since they can't neutral jump->AD for free against you if you don't have Ignis out. Right now, unless the opponent is reckless, or their own air tools are garbage, they have nothing to fear from Relius. -A better overhead. These two things alone would dramatically improve Relius' worst match-ups and even the playing field compared to other characters who can do the same amount (if not more) damage with half the effort that Relius has to put in. It would be nice if Ignis had more super armor properties, if 632146C had a better vertical hitbox (making it a much better reversal), he had a command throw, etc., but imo, those are things that Relius can live without (well, better vertical hitbox on the super would make me much happier). As it stands, with my limited experiences, I think Relius is only marginally better than Noel/Makoto/Tsubaki at the highest levels, and if he weren't such a pimp, a lot more people would have probably dropped him for more rewarding characters. I'm not a good player though, so take whatever I say with a grain of salt.
  13. The Japanese date is official (8/2), the American date is not technically official to my knowledge, but it's widely speculated to be since multiple vendors are using the date and it's coming out on a day when PS3/360 titles normally come out. Usually when vendors have placeholder dates, they'll pick something like "12/31/12" or "8/1/12" (if it doesn't fall on a Tuesday) or "8/31/12", they're basically guessing. This is more specific.
  14. None of this information should really come as a surprise to anyone. Chie/Mitsuru were identified as the strongest from the very beginning, and the only difference is that Chie is now considered (slightly) stronger than Mitsuru. Yu was also identified early as a top character, and Yosuke has always been a character people felt could move up. There would probably need to be major discoveries made in order for the top to change, the only thing I can see changing in the near future is the arrangement of B tier, and if anyone else from B tier can jump to A. Of course, this could all become irrelevant with the May update if it does in fact alter balance.

  16. @SKD: I think Dacid is talking about the 2nd hit of Hell's Fang and not the first, which is ridiculously unsafe. ...or maybe he does think the first hit is really unsafe, in which case I'd love to play against WC Ragnas... EDIT: On a happier note: salomeharras's name means: 1) Skilled at cross-dressing. 2) Shotacon. http://en.shindanmaker.com/215156 wtf is this shit. I deny it all.
  17. GGs BBQ, I can't block overheads or tech throws anymore.
  18. @Justin: Labrys is perfect for us Fiona players. I probably won't be playing her though, I don't think I'll be able to get people to rage enough at her.
  19. salomeharras's fighting game waifu is Leona Heidern from The King of Fighters. #fgwaifu http://en.shindanmaker.com/214848 That's all that needs to be said.
  20. A little slow lately, but a new vid has finally surfaced: Mizonokuchi Taito 2v2 Onii vs: (Kurosa Yume) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7zgoVWF6sR0 vs: (Uchiyama) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7zgoVWF6sR0#t=2m21s vs: (Ryuu) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h3YDKFbnoP8#t=4m18s vs: (Ozu) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h3YDKFbnoP8#t=8m16s
  21. @RIL: Ok, that's cool, we'll play some other time.

  23. Hm, so Skullgirls is more fun than I though it would be. I may have to buy it. May 11th is a pretty godlike day (my birthday), and I don't know if I'll be busy that weekend, but Saturdays are better for me to go down there than Fridays (Fridays are ok if it's RIL's). In other words, May 12th would be best for me, but I'm not sure if I could even make that. On an unrelated note, RIL, do you want to get some BB in this weekend? I haven't played in awhile, and I think I'll be done with everything I want to do in Tales by the end of the week (maybe).
  24. This Ragna is awful. That being said, your decisions at neutral are only working out here because this Ragna is absolutely awful and has now idea on how to use the tools he has available to him. You should be using doll more at neutral to cover yourself so you can get in and apply pressure more consistently than relying on footsie games with 5B alone (it is dangerous to engage in footsie games with Ragna anyway). You're only utilizing air dashing in terms of mobility in the air, and that isn't a good idea, especially against someone with a good anti-air like Ragna (or, he could have just air thrown you all day, that's what I would have done). Zeron is right, generally speaking (especially against Ragna), you should be using meter for counter-assaults and RCs (to recharge meter, sometimes to kill), and only should be using a super at the end of your combos if it'll kill. You CAN use 632146D to catch people or their whiffs sometimes (which you did in round 3), but that isn't the rule of thumb, and you can generally get better damage or positioning off of other starters. It's really hard to say anything else because your opponent was just really bad, or really, really new to Ragna or BlazBlue.
