Hey, correct me if I'm wrong, but I think I remember hearing that Terumi and Kagura were supposed to have gameplay coming out a few days after they announced them. Any word on that? -

From what I can tell it could go either way with 360 release. I mean on one hand it has not been announced yet for the 360, but then again every blazblue gets announced for the ps3 first and then the 360 a little later. This case is a bit odd though. Any news of a 360 release has been delayed if its going to happen. But then again, they've been extremely tight lipped about everything after the initial info they gave out prior to arcade release. I'd say if we don't hear of one by a month at the latest of the time they give out the release date, its not going to happen, until then its up in the air in my book. -

Been a while since I've checked in. Anything as far as console release at all? They have been oddly tight lipped on this one. Also since you guys are already talking about it, any news on a new 360. I've sort of been away from the gaming world allot so about all I know is sony announced their ps4 and the new FF will have crazy homeless guy beard details. -

I have to disagree with the destroy comment. I cant speak for characters like hakumen or makoto as I don't really play them but bang I feel has very much benefited from his nerfs in terms of how he plays. The wall bounces made combos much more repetative and in CS overpowered him. Now hes forced to use allot more of his tools in combos and they look much more interesting and can have much more spontaneous innovation since you aren't chained down to wallbounce > rising combo > air wall bounce > ender format. Not to mention the nerfs he got made it so you actually have to use the tools at his disposal that make him unique. Back in CS you COULD use his bumpers.......or play normal and it wouldn't matter because you had so much damage and were so great overall that you didn't really need to play right in order to win with him and could play far worse than your opponent and still win. It was very unsatisfying. I personally haven't gotten too far into extend, but from what I could tell and what I played in cs2, bangs changes have been great..... even if I do miss nail frkz dashes and the mobility in general. -

Ya , I've been playing allot of non arksys fighters lately dabbling in 3d moving back to 2d with this and persona. But anyways to stay on topic I do wonder how different it is going to be. They do say you can shift between characters involved in the story arc......sorta like how you shift between characters when you select them in ct or cs story modes. I wonder if they're just saying that they're going to try to make 3 different arcs involving the characters tie into 1 but keep the idividuality. Sort of like one group is bang and his group, one the ragna squad trying to figure out stuff so on, and one the sector seven group doing their usual stuff. If thats the case then thats fine and it would be cool to have that many plot lines swirling around as long as the game is forced to linear without alternate circumstances. But oh well I guess we are left to twiddle our thumbs for now and wonder for quite some time on anything story related. EDIT just read SOWL's post. Are you talking about sort of how I'm saying here. I mean I just dont see branching stories working out to well for all characters if they're going for a storyline like 3 MK storylines essentially. Alternating paths would conflict and make it convoluted that way. I suppose you could have something of a map that you navigate the story line by so progression is still made clear and alternate paths are still available. -

Everything looks really cool, and as a bang fan I am happy hes taking a greater role in the story, but I do have one concern. They say they're are only 3 story paths. Now in one respect this makes the story more coherent and easy to follow. But I feel that they run the risk of losing allot of the games charm as a result. I would say allot of what defined the characters was not as much how we saw them in the main story ( don't get me wrong that of course is important as well ), but also the joke and alternate storylines. They allowed us to see the characters in ways we would otherwise not and therefore break them out of their shell and make them less 2 dimensional. Not to mention they were just a ton of fun. Ya they made things a little harder to follow, but not much. But more importantly they made the storyline much more vibrant as you slowly got to know characters and pieced together a puzzle of what was happening slowly, trying to tie up all the loose ends, it was allot of fun. Anyways just my take on it. I'm sure that arksys will do a good job on it regardless, I just hope that they don't forget that humor is one of the driving factors of the BB storyline in many ways. At least to me it always has been. -
Thanks for all the helpful posts, hes a bit of an odd pick for me. I tend to end up picking the super fast rushdown character that has meh damage but tons of options. Sounds like he'll teach me to play a little more barebones.

Rather than wade through all these posts hoping to piece something together I figured I may as well just ask since I couldn't find one in the gameplay discussion thread. What is akihiko's general playstyle. I really have not paid attention to this fighter much until now and am trying to choose my character. Its between this guy and the guy with the 2 kunai's. Just wondering how people would describe him. If I had to guess seems like a rush down heavy damage based char but I honestly don't know what I'm talking about in this game.

So, the info says they're making a brand new bb, but it pairs that with news about bbcs2, so is it a new game, or are they trying to pass bbcs2 as a whole edition of the series when its an update.

Gotta say, never thought I'd see something in a DL thread that was interesting and not taken from somewhere else, but this thread was pretty lol and showcased DL's core assholes quite nicely, quite entertaining, thanks for the read.

Nice work katz managing to make ragna look interesting is something I didn't think was possible, much less to that extent.

I think what hes getting at is the fact that while its not entirely new to fighters, its not something many other characters have and in most cases outside a few characters like arakune, overheads are not that fast and as such it makes her mix up exponentially stronger than others since in most cases you can just watch and react.

* sigh * the honest appraisal of abilities is not in any way stupid, and thats all I'm doing, not my fault you get mad when I call out an exageration. I'm just stating reality, not saying he doesn't have the ability to go to 5K or that hes not broken, just that its not every hit meterless. Why is this so hard to grasp? Either way thats enough off topicness and the root of what I'm saying is so basic it should be obvious to anyone.

4.6k iirc, and at that point it may as well be a super combo, one that does not build up any heat for meter use since the RC is at the beginning. So like I said, strong, but 5K meterless off everything is an exageration. Why is it everyone gets mad when people say top tiers don't have full screen unblockable meterless instant kills.

5C is one of his slower pokes that people were less likely to fall for not on punish or set up. Saying its off every random poke is highly misleading as that implies the easier to land moves give it too, when they usually yield about 3.3 - 5k, and not all do yield the meter needed for super. Theirs no denying hes broken, but getting 5K off anything he does is really exaggerated.

Why don't we just make arakune the new rachel. EVERYONE , but arakunes would be happier. The bastard is too hard to balance anyways, it seems every time they try he just finds a new way to be broken later on.

blasphemy, hes awesome. Hes got all the great shenanigans going for him with a really cool honorable hero thing going for him as well. I for one am a fan of the big hero types, and hes got that going big time, with all kinds of laughs too, and even a little bit of a mystery in his story with his nox , ikaruga, masters son so on and so on. Sorry but generic angry heroes ( ragna ) , nervous wimps ( noel ) , whore types ( litchi ) are much more boring and unlikable to me than bang ever would be. That said I like most the characters, but I thats mainly because of the story, personality wise everyone else is rather bland. Also can I get an update. I know bangs looked uplayable for a bit, now apparently hes got a decent corner game. How decent are we talking and are we talking off of 5B, because I could see that being a bit tricky to get off with appropriate range in a corner. Either way, what super combos does he have going? Whats the damage output / oki / set ups mid screen and corner looking like? Hows FRKZ doing with the shorter dashes, has it killed the crazy damage combos that made it worth using?
