This gives me time to prepare. To save for a trip to Japan when the game comes out. Learn how to edit videos, stream, etc. -

I literally cannot stop watching it. So much for my aspirations in life. I feel like a vampire who is tasting blood for the first time in 1000 years... -

That's the old animation for Grand Viper. They also showcase the dust-loop being performed in the corner. It's a call-back to old fans who have been waiting for a long time. It's time to open my coffin. -

I'm dead. -
It's the Under Construction "music" causing it. Every time you reset the stage, the game changes tracks (there's two; one for night and one for day) and causes a stutter. Change the music to something else and you won't have this problem.

Oh word? Sorry, my bad, haha. The game offline feels very comparable to PS2, but I will need to play it more to really make a decision. If Teyah will be running side by side comparisons, then we will have a better idea later. Insofar as my personal experience, the game feels perfectly fine.

I don't know why you assume that my ping was 100ms, because there's no indicator for that in-game as far as I'm aware. I wouldn't lie about input like that, as I posted that literally right after I played my ranked match. Either I have a shitty connection, he had one, we BOTH had one, he was far away, or any combination of those elements. It was at least a whole second, believe me. There is a way to filter opponents based on connection type and area, it seems. I may be forced to playing "local" players, which means more than four hours away from me. I really cannot stand online play in any game. My patience for online in this game may be incredibly thin as it is, because of years of offline play and my hatred of how lag affects games like these in general.
-
Online for this seems pretty trashy unless you have a really good connection with your opponent. I had a ranked match with literally 1 full second between button input and character response. I will keep trying it, but will only be playing player matches so that I can filter out opponents based on connection quality.

Robo's 2H definitely needs to be FD'd. "The Rule" should really be, "if the attacking character is grounded, then that attack should be considered air-unblockable." Sol's HS VV for example, is air unblockable even at the apex of his upwards movement. His air VV however, is not air unblockable. Johnny's MF is a good example of the projectile rule as well. Potemkin can flick the visible "slash" portion of Johnny's MF. As far as Robo's 6P is concerned, I imagine it works like Johnny's MF. The "projectile" property and the "air unblockable" property are mutually exclusive, and can be assigned basically however they want to be. I-no's far 5S for example, is not air-unblockable late in it's animation. I'm not sure about early on, but I want to say it just isn't an air-unblockable move period. Another thing about Potemkin's FDB (flick) is that it breaks a lot of standard rules about being a projectile. Namely that it can be RC'd when the attack fails to reflect anything. The game is weird. For the most part though, the "while grounded, physical strikes from a character are air-unblockable" concept is very very consistent. EDIT: Yeah, Robo's 6P can nullify other projectiles. Use stun edge as a reference.

Gotta agree with Chojin. Kliff looks like he seriously has way too much. He isn't bugged, just really really strong. If he isn't as strong as he looks, I hope it's because some glaring weaknesses are found. This is just #R Robo all over again, and the only reason he wasn't the best was because there were other characters even dumber than him. As fun as #R was, I don't want to go back to that level of stupidity. It is the first new GG in 6 years though. Cheap stuff is going to be found and there are going to be adjustments. Kliff's stuff might just be week 1 abuse from strong players. He does look like the "scrubby low effort" character right now. New character, etc. Only time will tell.

Spit ball not being an overhead anymore seems really unlikely. You sure he wasn't just timing his guard switch as a just-frame? It was possible to do this if Eddie tried it mid blockstring, by doing spit+22D. I've seen the same thing done in this game, but I haven't seen anyone block a meaty spit ball+22D.

I don't see the point of this post, except for the last sentence. You applaud Kensou and LK for their initial efforts to get the community to band together and their attempt at MLG support. Then you imply the game is stupid and beneath the people that play GG (implying it isn't worth supporting), which is contradictory to the spirit of the thread in the first place.

GGXXAC+ Rebalancing, Features, and Overall Wishlist Thread

When comparing Bridget to everyone else in the way he enjoys the use of AC specific system mechanics and the useful(less)ness of his new moves? He's trash. Ruu or another super sick character specialist being good with him is not indicative of how good the character is. I agree that the character is very hard to play, and that Bridget's movement and ranged options give a lot of characters trouble on principle. The problem is screwing up one time and losing because you guessed right 20 times and Slayer, or Eddie, or Potemkin, or Jam, or May, etc etc guesses right once and negates all of that work. I honestly think if he did a little more damage, he would be fine. -

Eddie already gets a virtual free refill off of a triple unblockable (if they live). I am removing the third unblockable, and thus the 100% he will get in idealized setups. You're talking about something that already exists. Two separate mach drill unblockables (that lead into themselves) off of sweep (or CH gold burst) will lead to damage that high. There's no debate, because it exists. You'll notice that the nerfs to Eddie I suggested were in response to way less reasonable nerfs that other people are suggesting. I agree with you in that Eddie is not as much of a problem as he was before, due to the high skill ceiling on playing him, and the numerous matchup specific advantages other characters have come to enjoy over him in certain situations. I am not advocating nerfing Eddie. -

Yeah, I mean I agree that Johnny isn't as bad off as a lot of people make him out to be. Maybe not I-no either because of her offense, but starting it and executing it well are extremely difficult. I feel like if you changed even a little bit about her, then she'd jump up like crazy. Of course I think it's ridiculous that people would even be afraid of that with a character like her, but that isn't the point. You see good I-no's winning all the time (like good Johnny's), so I don't really think those two characters are a problem. Bridget, however, truly does need help. He might be the only character in the game who needs it? The thing about Johnny, Bridget, and I-no though is that their new AC stuff is kind of underwhelming. The fact they can compete at all (I still don't know about Bridget) is mostly a testament to the game's engine and the myriad of options each character has for dealing with things. Their options are still not as good as better characters, and I question the decisions made in balancing them for this game, but that's how the cookie crumbles I guess. I like the idea of toning down meter gain on problematic moves for really strong characters. It makes them slightly less ridiculous and you don't end up messing with the finer properties of certain moves and risk upsetting anything major. Minor nerfs to top tier characters can be as problematic as minor buffs to low tier characters, and there's no way to know until the changes are out in the wild. Unfortunately even small changes like meter gain values are things I don't think we'll be getting. It's a nice dream though. -

Eddie's biggest problem is shadow hole and mach drill. If shadow hole launched, he'd still have unblockables but they would not lead to another knockdown without using sg Frc, and even then he couldn't set up another unblockable due to spacing. He would have to take his aircombo and not a shadow hole combo (stun, meter gain, another unblockable afterwards). Mach drill should just not hit low. It prevents easy mode, reversal safe unblockable loops with half meter that do 300+ damage. Aside from that, Eddie is fine. These nerfs would address the points people complain about the most. Realistically, Eddie is really hard to play. Tons of eddies can do all of the autopiloty trap mixup stuff, but get owned because their footsie and situational knowledge is ass and Eddie's defense is so bad that if he gets knocked down even once, it could be a wrap. If any changes need to be made, it is to the lower tier characters. It is remarkable how hard it is to win (against the top 6 or so) with characters like I-no, Bridget, Johnny. -
What is your schedule like? We actually have some fairly strong players here, but because we don't use the forums a lot, people don't think anyone in STL actually plays BB. People don't bring setups to the weekly meetup at Danno's Pub, and that kinda hurts the scene. I think we have six (maybe seven) people here who play, but a lot of them either just play online, or our schedules don't match up, or they're occupied with other games. I would like to see people playing the game on the regular without resorting to hosting a get together every week (as in, people get together and play each other without me having to set it up), but I don't know how feasible that is. It seems like if I am not hosting hookups for the game, then it isn't getting played, period. I like the game a lot, but it is hard to get people together. It's even harder to pull people who play it away from games that are easier to find comp for (Marvel, SFxT, etc). So again, it doesn't seem to happen much if I am not hosting. What system do you play on? If you're on 360, that's great, as I'm sure we'd have a great connection. I prefer face to face games though, but whatever works for you. Send me a PM if you want my number, or we can arrange to meet at Danno's or something in order to get some games going.
-
Yeah, totally. We don't use this site to arrange things for arc systems games though. We usually just text or call. What games do you play? Where are you located?
-
Yo Grendy, welcome to St. Louis! There isn't a lot of activity around here lately, but we can always get something going, especially with a welcoming hookup or something. Wright City is about 15-20 minutes West of me (I live in O'Fallon). Just post up whenever you get into town and we will set something up.
-
Sol Bumguy - Hey no worries. I think given the circumstances, you guys did a bang-up job. Thanks again for running this and here's to another tournament next year!
-
Ky-Sama - Just to clarify, I was standing behind Zeero and pointing at him while he reported the win. I specifically remember that, but as far as anything beyond that I am unsure. It is entirely possible the match was reported to the wrong person? But I know for a fact that the match was reported. Sorry for the confusion.

84 entrants I think? Top 4 IIRC: 1. RF 2. AKA 3. ElvenShadow 4. Hellmonkey

Man I post on SRK and rarely check this board at this point but I thought to and hey woah people posted. Hookup at my place this Thursday night. Marvel/BBCS2/GGXX/MK9. Two rooms, one CRT, one lagless (trust me) HDTV (360 VGA hookup), and plenty of room for another setup (or two). Kinda short notice, but this thread is generally not where I make plans. Next time I host a hookup, I will post it here as well (I swear!). Blargh, when exactly are you guys planning to come down again? Let me know. PEACE
-
I'm signing up for singles. Teams are also a go.

Ohhhhh shit someone posted blargh, that's totally cool. My number is in this thread, so let me know what your plans are.
