Y'know there's also the kind of people who are able to complete a high school education in less than four years. Given Ky's gifted talents, and supposing the Order was well supplied with classes and/or tutors, this could also be possible. As far as his post-war education goes, a two-year Criminal Justice degree is generally good enough to get into most forms of local enforcement. However, again due to Ky's unique situation, being former Commander of the Order probably vetted him in. Then again, Ky is a bit of an over achiever, so who knows?

GG official art and sprites (and chibi GIFs) thread
Raging Tofu replied to Nekich's topic in Zepp Museum
That is a fanart, it's done by Noir Croix; amazing stuff but their site shut down last year or the year before. There isn't a wallpaper verison of it (it's full size is only 800x500) but there two versions- Clean Battle-worn -
Specifically, it says "Characters of [2]". The bit between them translates to "prior knowledge of/acquaintance" ...something along those lines. I'll double check my notes when I get home. Also, if anyone was curious, a blue line represents a negative relationship [minus image relationship] while an orange line means a positive relationship [plus image relationship].

I second the idea of having a Fanfiction Thread. Story Thread is for cannon. Let's keep those lines from crossing shall we? There's already enough fanon mucking this thread up.... For the challenege/contest idea, there may be something like that happening in the near future on the GG community on LJ, but it's be neat here too.

lol, thank you for your concern. Actually though, it's not all that difficult considering the information's all out there; it just needs to organized and analyzed (and in some cases, translated). Mostly, it's just time consuming.

It's a project I'm working on, with Blade's assistance, among other things we're doing. Bascially, I'm redoing the entire timeline for the games. Rather than just show the years and major events that have occured (which is all the current timeline is) I'm showing what every single character was doing during those events. The goal is to put evertything into its proper perspective as a lot of the information concerning the storyline and character's back stories have been rather disjointed. I've been calling it the Rainbow Timeline because each character's line is a different color and it's quite colorful. At the very least, it's not going to be anywhere near as complicated as say, the UNIX history timline, but don't expect it to be all cut-and-dry either. All story paths from all the games are being included, with notions to mark which ones are the probable "true" path connecting the events from one game to another (as well as the events of the Drama CDs, novels and manga). To echo something Blade said earlier... Rainbow Timeline is part of that "something" but given that there's a decade's worth of games and information, don't expect anything soon.

Um...did you not read my post? I included sources, direct ones, at the end of every point. No. Dizzy does not leave the pirates at all. Yes, she does take some time to visit with Ky, but there is nothing to state that anything more (i.e. any kind of a love relationship) develops. In one of her story endings for X+, it's set 100 years later and Dizzy is the leader of the Jellyfish. She's leading an attack, along with the Third Holy Order against a Gear force. Sol's there too. (SOURCE- GGX+ story.) The Jellyfish Pirates are her family, she's not going to leave them. Also! There is nothing saying that Ky and the "wife" get married. In fact, they ARE NOT married. It's been stated, by Ishiwatari-san himself in the interview from the MC book. This is something I've already pointed out but here it is again- Ky is not married. Not to Dizzy or anyone else. THIS IS FACT. The "Dizzy is Sin's mother" is speculation. This is NOT fact; quit spreading lies. Until we have a direct source saying that, we CANNOT assume it is true. Who won the fights in GG1/GGX+ aren't really that important. It's like that old saying, "It doesn't matter if you win or lose, it's how you play the game" (lol). The winner does not matter, plain and simple. The events (story) are what's important. Even if Sol won or lost the fight, Dizzy still ends up with the Jellyfish Pirates either way. WIN!

I think it's safe to say that being "nice" isn't on the list of things Sol likes doing. Regarding the rest, I'm going to take this chronologically. 2172 Sol's first encounter with Justice is back during the Crusades. He wasn't able to defeat her, and she spared him because she found him "interesting" (bascially, she was toying with him.) At this time, Sol did not lose or break his Limiter. (source- AC+ storyline) 2175 Sol's second encounter with Justice. At this time, Sol had the Fuuenken, which enabled him to finally weaken Justice, enough so, that Ky could seal her up. Again, he does not break/lose his Limiter. (source- GG Complete Bible, Justice's story in XX) 2180 is the last time Sol encounters Justice. Again, it takes Sol's full strength and the amplification abilities of the Fuuenken to kill her. At this point he does indeed have his Limiter off (whether it was by his own doing or if it broke off during the fight is unknown). (source- GG1) In summary, Justice has always been stronger than Sol (normally). Dizzy on the other hand, is a bit more complicated. 2181 is the first time Sol runs into Dizzy, in the normal timeline. He notices that she's a Gear right away and it's actually a small series of bouts, but with different outcomes. In the first fight, should Sol win, he spares her. This is the only part where Sol might be regretful, but that can be linked to the relation between them (that both he and Dizzy are Gears, created-weapons when they desire otherwise). However, if he loses, you get the second ending... Note that this is the ending where he gets impaled upon crystal-spikes.(source for both- GGX+ story) Since it is a multiple-path storyline, it's unclear just which path is "true" (though I am working on cross referencing everything). Based on this, I believe it's safe to assume that Dizzy is a likely match for Sol's power and may have the potential to exceed it. For the most part, Sol does not engage in fights he can't win (his early fights with Justice being the exception). Now if you were to consider the original timeline, where Dizzy would rise to take over the war against humanity, it was still a close contest between the two. Put simply, Ky died in 2173 and passed control of the Order to Sol. Sometime after that, but before 2183, Dizzy takes control of the Gears after Justice is killed. In 2183, Sol and Dizzy meet (it is unknown if they had ever met prior to this) and duke it out, Sol going into Dragon Install and using Volcanic Viper (so we can assume he had Fuuenken in his possession at this time). The outcome of this match is also unknown, as I-no jumps back in time to the Battle of Rome (2173) to set things straight. (source- Drama CD Side Black) This still shows that the two are on the same level of power, though you could wager Dizzy as the winning force since Sol has to rely on a Jinki. (ftr, I really hate Dizzy.) I'm inclinded to believe you're wrong. Granted, all I have is a theory based on a hunch, but yeah, you're wrong.

Junta, few things bub. Firstly, STFU. Seriously, get your facts right before you start hammering away on your keyboard. Also, if you present you theories coherently, then they are more likely to be considered. Instead, you've just set yourself up as batshit creepy. Good job there. Secondly, learn to fucking edit your posts. There was no need to have your run-on ideas carry out to more than one post. Again, if your post is collected and coherent, it will be better received. Now, after cutting out the drivel, let's talk about what you said: You are both correct and incorrect here. True, there isn't any fact stating that Sin's mother is indeed Dizzy. Most of what's been shown would naturally lead people to believe that it is Dizzy, and there's no harm in speculation. However, Ishiwatari-san specifically said, in an interview from the most recent artbook, that Ky calls Sin's mother his "wife" but they are in no way officially married. (non-zipped version, posted recently in this thread in fact) Let's jump right to that- At the very least, from this, we know that Ky is a man of conscience. (In other words, he felt guilty about having a child out of wedlock, so by calling the woman his "wife" he's able to put his mind at ease.) I'd like to know where you got the notion that there is more than one Maiden of the Grove. Granted, this could entirely be possible, since there is not, as of yet, any translation for Lighting the Argent, Blade did provide us with a good synopsis. And there's the thought that the term "Maiden of the Grove" is really more of a categorizing phrase than referring to a single person. The "cripple in a wheelchair" by the way, her name is Marina, something you should have known, had you been following this thread (but judging by some of what you say, you apparently have not). As for the "strange powers", Marina never displayed any "powers". The closest you could come to this would be when the Gear cells in the medicine she had been given reacted with Solaria's singing (which could be considered a "power" since it only affected Gears). For the record, you mean X+, don't you? X did not have a story mode. Emotional reasons? Really? Sol didn't even know Dizzy was a Gear until he confronted her then. Sol hates Gears and has made it his life's goal to eradicate them, so tell me, how does an "emotional reason" deter him from destroying something that's clearly on his kill list? If anything, Sol chose to spare her because he recognized how powerful she was and didn't want to deal with it. He's also not exactly warm toward her once she is defeated (she starts to cry, he says it's annoying and then brushes her off). And Ky hating Sol for letting Dizzy live? You sure it wasn't the other way around? I mean, have you even bothered to read the GGX+ Plot FAQ? Dizzy never says it's a feeling of love, just that she used all her powers and felt warm. The Jellyfish Pirates show up to collect her, so Sol quietly fades out. If I had to make any kind of a guess here, it would be that Dizzy was out of sorts from having been shoved off an airship and with Necro on rampage, fighting Sol returned her to a normal, "at ease" state. You could probably even draw on the happiness she felt when May, Johnny and April showed up. You offer no reasons on how "her conditions" cannot possibly be linked to Dizzy. The "wife" is disappearing because she is a Gear. Dizzy is a Gear, so why wouldn't she disappear as well. As far as Sin's age and rapid growth go, Gear physiology is largely unknown. There have already been some theories regarding how Gear pregnancies might work, but it's still all up in the air. Uh, no. Not in the least bit possible considering that LtA happened in 2182 and Sin is most likely to be 2 (based on his intelligence when factored by 'known' Gear/human growth rate, i.e. 1 human year = 7 Gear years) which means he would have been born in 2184. You're insinuating that Sin was born around 2181...don't you think if that were the case then there would have already been mention of Sin in XX or any of the games after it? Sol has shown himself to Dizzy, but he's just not friendly towards her and keeps his distance much like how he keeps his distance from everyone else. Sol's promise to Justice was to defeat That Man, so how does that fit with keeping away from Dizzy? Your logic there is faulty. Also, there really isn't anything that points to a Sol/Dizzy pairing, and what was said in the X trailer does not support it either. Sin's mad at Ky for a number of reasons. Ky handed him off to another person for raising, he doesn't really talk to his son much, and when they do communicate, Ky is rather cold towards Sin. In the first mission of Overture, Sin comments that Ky "doesn't care about the people at all", by which he means Ky's more focused on keeping his family safe (i.e. sealing up the wife and handing Sin off to Sol) rather than concerning himself with the safety of the Illyrians. (As King-elect, he certainly does try, but it's clear that it's not his main worry.) Sin loves his mother, because unlike his father, she doesn't emotionally neglect him. (So he's a bit of a momma's boy, lol) You mean these scans I did and posted? Because those are the only official pictures of Ky and Marina. EDIT: Thought it was in there, but you mean this picture, don't you? Are you aware that there are multiple paths in each game and that those mean the actual story could go off in any direction? There are still many plot holes between the events of all the games that need filling and sometimes the artwork reflects that. That does not mean that ALL artwork is cannon. Any artwork in an actual artbook or mook? Sure. Game ending? No. And it's a trailer, an advertisement. To get people interested in the games. Nothing in it gives cannon to what happens between X and XX. Case in point, if it was really providing a connection between X and XX, then why list Zato-1, as he died after the first game? Really....do I need to add any more. Here's some advice for you: Don't wrestle with pigs in the mud because 1) you'll get dirty and 2) the pigs will like it.

If you've got money to blow, it's available online. Shipping will cost more than the book though. I've started scans of it and I'll have the rest of it done shortly. Also- friends of mine who were able to speak to Ishiwatari-san and Arksys guys at TGS clarify a few things: - That "pen" Frederick is chewing on; it's really a fake cigerette. It's mentioned in That Man's story that smoking is prohibited within the lab building. Arksys guy mentioned they're filled with mint (and presumably come in other flavors) and didn't know if they existed in other countries. - Dizzy being Sin's mother; Ishiwatari-san dodged giving a direct answer (since that'll spoil things and he'd get in trouble) but the fact that Ky and Sin have the same image of a women in their Master Ghosts- "that could be just a symbol". The storyline in AC+ isn't meant to clarify anything in that regard.

Whoops, it's really more like a nose, I guess. (I was distracted by the expression it made o_o). There's actually a really clear drawing of it back in the GGX Artworks 2000-2007 book (in the extra section) and it looks like a nose there.
-
That's Chimaki. Not a mustache, but a rectangular nose. (thought it was a mouth first because of the expression it makes) From the MC book's interview, translated by theria: Q43: What is the “chimaki” that appears in this game? A43: It is a character born in the magazine’s reader’s page but since even the Guilty Gear series would like to establish a mascot, it is a character made from adult idea (発想). There is a tentative background that he was an incredibly strong person, a warrior part of an organization called C1000Gumi and that after completing his goal he was fired (お払い箱)…

Yes it's for my sewing, specifically the bias tape that I need to redo my Sol cosplay with. (I find what I used originally is really too wide, been meaning to replace it). What about other little details like, King Ky's sword orginally saying LORD KY on it instead of AQUILA? Okay, not seriously for things like that BUT! I've misplaced it, but I was running a list of everything I found that Ishiwatari-san might have used as reference (just small things to back up why he did certain things) For example- Ky's sword has AQUILA in it's crossboard. Aquila is the name of a constellation in the northern hemisphere that's said to represent an eagle. An eagle and the constellation can be found in the emblem on his cape. Under the rules of heraldry, an eagle is associated with empires, persons of noble nature, strength, bravery and alertness or one who is high-spirited, ingenious, quick-witted and judicious. If the eagle is displayed (meaning wings open) then it represents protection as well. Even the colors have significance- blue is for truth and loyalty while the gold for generosity and elevation of the mind and the sub-ordinary (a red inescutcheon) means warrior or martyr; Military strength and magnanimity. yeah... I know random stuff. Just some references for things like that... may or may not be true, but it interesting.

Now here's a thought- KnK is partially disappeared, most notably her legs. In Lightning d'Argent, Marina, who took the Gear infused medicine for her legs (iirc) later had a reaction to it (in the art, it looks like her legs are getting ripped apart while some Gear creature emerges from them) and then there's Solaria, another command-type Gear....who also looks remarkable like Marina.... To argue Dizzy-Kiske's points here Firstly, who the hell is Kyrie? Secondly- ---love of ribbons - that's a general girl thing, meaning, I think it's safe to assume that most girls would like ribbons and just because the KnK artwork features ribbons doesn't mean RIBBONS=DIZZY ---ponytail - people with long hair tend to wear it in ponytails. Examples inclued Sol, Baiken, Johnny, Jam (kind of) and I guess Dizzy, but her's are really more hair loops. From the art, Solaria has long hair, so why not wear it pulled into a ponytail? Just speculation... ---who has a bounty - most Gears have bounties on them, and iirc, so did Solaria because she was another Command-type ---wings & tail - KnK art only shows those features while she's frozen in the crystal. Plus, what's to say there can't be other female Gears that sprout such appendages? ---GEAR DNA - Solaria's got that too, all Gears do ---large boobs - most GG women sport this, so it's pretty irrelevant ---recent bond with Ky - while there's no direct bond between Ky and Solaria, he does seem to grow close to Marina. This one is still kind of up in the air since translations haven't really been down, but if someone wants to tackle it, I can scan that book once I'm done scanning the MC book. So, what do we know for sure, about Solaria, and in turn, Marina?
