Usually if they're trying to camp full screen and throw stuff out, I just stay put until they run out of meter. Watch carefully to make sure you don't get hit by something, especially close cloud > edge teleport shenanigans, but otherwise just wait for curse to run out. EDIT: It also helps if you're not trying to IB bugs in laggy online play. Q.Q

I'm not sure what kind of Jin you've been trying to play, but a LOT of that is just flat out wrong. 1) If Jin has meter, he has EASY ways to hurt bang in bang install. If he doesn't, he still has dp and j.b, which is more than some other characters have. 2) Jin functions better keeping him out of his preferred range, Bang has a rough time getting close without spending nails. 3) High priority air normals? Jin's j.B beats anything he can do, except jump over the top of it and j.C downwards, which is difficult for any character. Jin's j.B is one of the best air normals in the game, AND gives him combo/reset on hit. Good luck finding something so easy to apply with Bang. Oh and you have a dp, on top of that. Bang's only reversal is his super, and his only anti air is slow ass 2D which can be double jumped away from easily on reaction, or being psychic and jumping command grab. That's provided you don't just j.B him out of that too, mind you. If you have that much trouble with Bang, you're doing it wrong. It's winnable for Bang, but he's gotta be a step ahead in every facet of the game.

This. When the answer to every move Bang has is to just 2a, and Bang's answer is to sit there and instant block a 6f jab, then add on his lackluster air game against Tao flying all over the place, things get a little hairy. So catching her means that she can just 2a and combo on hit (or CH since it beats everything he does) or on block run away again. But so far the only advice I've gotten is "drive nails are really good, hope you don't run out!" and "dude just instant block EVERYTHING!"

Your stupid fucking crouchwalk and 2a mash beats every single move Bang has that doesn't cost nails, INCLUDING j.C and j.D. This match should be fucking free for you, you don't even have to be good at fighting games. Prove me wrong, please.

Bang player here, couple easy things to remember against Bang. Your 2a low profiles under his 5a, although his 5a is a frame faster than your 5a. Aside from drive nails, most of his rushdown you can just jump backwards and barrier. His only real answer for this is to jump after you and try to command grab. Abuse j.B, don't just use it a lot, I mean really abuse it. He has nothing to beat it straight up, just be aware that he has extra mobility in the air, and be ready to double jump if he tries to guard point through it. Force him to beat just straight up j.B whoring first, and then work from that. If he runs out of nails, he's fucked. Just mash 2a and jump backwards a lot, he's completely helpless. The whole match really plays out like this, except you have to be careful about nails and.....that's it. Bang without nails is fucking useless, if you know how to mash 2a and jump away. His only reversal is his super. He has no other reversal, just watch for his guard points and jump cancel away, or hit him out of the uppercut (2D) with a low.

Safe to say you can spare the meter to do D ice car if she's close enough to the corner, to tack on the 6c>combo afterwards? If Nu is just turtling from full screen trying this crap, she may very well wind up close enough to the corner for this. Getting used to not having the extra air movement like I do with Bang has been tough, Bang's got a much easier matchup against Nu than he does against Ara and Rachel. But Bang doesn't have a full screen ranged low crush lol.

I play this matchup constantly, good friend of mine is a Jin player. His j.B is just a pain in the ass, but you can look to hit him from above, and remember you have an extra airdash after your double jump to work with. Gotta be ready to use the extra air mobility, his j.B is gonna beat your moves clean unless you're mad early. But as far as moves straight up beating it, no he has nothing as far as I know. j.B has a ton of range and priority. I started playing Jin recently, and I'm seriously just DOING j.B whenever I feel like it, without any real thought behind it. Obviously that'll only go so far lol, but Bang doesn't have an air normal with that much clout behind it, so you gotta stay on the move.

Yeah I had blocked it at range that time, and didn't close in enough to avoid the followup. I think that's where people here would use lol. Tested it in practice mode, you seem to have enough time to dash into a 5a for the sliding effect if you block it at farther ranges, keeps you from getting noggin donked by the 2nd hit. She still gives me trouble, but I really don't play against her that often, so that's got a hand in it.

Well so far we know that 2a beats every move Bang has (correct me please for the love of god) and that catching her in the air requires us NOT to get beat out on priority, and land CH j.B, j.D. Which at the height we're chasing this bitch in the air, probably won't net us much? Again please correct me here, I'm looking for some real answers to this. Did I mention I really fucking can't stand anime catgirls?

It also beats his j.B, at least j.B has more range than a j.A but still. You think they could have given him ONE high priority air normal, it's kind of hard for me to swallow that I'm just doing it wrong at this point. And on top of all this, I fucking HATE anime catgirls. Nobody's found a vid of Bang beating this bitch yet, eh?

Thanks for the help, if I don't figure it out on my own from here I'll get some inputs on what they use to link into it. I NEVER tech after getting pushed away by him, this was purely a problem with being launched up into collider, and having the combo counter say it wasn't guaranteed. It was probably what you described being close up when he tries to collider, should I wait until right before collider would hit me to tech, in order to try and avoid it? What direction should I be teching in that case?

Does the combo counter read Tager's collider combos accurately? I'm saying this because while magnetized, after certain setups (green hand > 2c maybe?) that end in collider, the combo counter will turn dark to signify it was escapeable. But so far teching has gotten me sucked in, and not teching has gotten me grabbed by collider as well. Also tried teching and hitting his hand with j.c while being sucked in, that didn't work either. Is there some way out of this that I'm missing? Or does magnetism mess with the combo counter?

I had Tao's 2a anti air my j.C and duck under a ton of j.D's in a tournament, I was TIGHT. Any vids of a Bang beating Tao? I searched, and I saw Dora and Nezu both lose to Tao, couldn't find any of Bang winning.

Someone had mentioned to me (not sure if it's true) that her guard gauge gets crushed quicker than other characters? If that's true, on a knockdown it may be worth working as heavy a guard string as you can to either guard crush or force her to deplete her barrier gauge.

If only all of life's problems were this simple, lol. Anyway I see now what you guys mean about jumping our and barrier guarding. Friend of mine who plays Jin in NYC was doing that, helped me get used to countering that when other people do it to me. Now I just need to do it to other Bangs. Any of you guys play on XBL? I'm lookin to start playing more experienced players.

If that was the case, I wouldn't be upset about it lol. But whatever, it's a new style of fighting game for me so it'll be a learning process. It's just hard for me to stay calm enough to think that way sometimes lol.
