  1. I can't wait to see everyone Friday! HYPE HYPE HYPE! Final round HYPE!
  2. Xrd works fine, it's the borrowed copy of UNIEL that doesn't work, even though I thought PS3 was region free.
  3. It just doesn't even show the disc inside my PS3. No error message or anything.
  4. So UNIEL will not run on my PS3 for some reason. Sigh...
  5. Well, with the release of Xrd, and a bunch of other games this past year, I'm starting a new Stomping Grounds thread. Post up in here if you're in Kentucky. Give me the following info, and we'll use myself as example: Name: John Handle: TheSlyMoogle Characters: Xrd - Ky ; ACR - Anji PSN: theslymoogle Location: Mount Sterling, KY Just give that info up and I'll add it to this post. Happy Gaming friends. Name: Nick Handle: Yasha Characters: Xrd - Ky Sin ; ACR - Ky ; Blazblue- Hazama PSN: yashanyu1 Location: Lexington, KY
  6. Those are all good points, but I doubt Arcsys has the money to throw at stuff like other companies. Honestly a nice gesture would have been to invite the guilty gear community to come to an event and have tournaments and stream it. Blow it up on streams, get websites to post up about it, get that hype out there. It doesn't have to be on such a large scale. I honestly got into this game because I saw a small add for it on a website back in 2004 and went "Oh wow, this looks like an anime, I want to play it" I already had a love for fighting games, and that one anime looking add did it. If I could have seen good footage of the game back then it wouldn't have taken me so long to actually get seriously into it. However at one point it was one of, if not the biggest fighting game in the scene for a couple of years. Around the days of slash and AC releasing. We had a final round after AC dropped with over 150 entrants to GG and this was when we still had to import that damn game and use some sort of PS2 hacks to play it. The game hit a street fighter style lull in new versions. I think there are enough people who loved GG who will play Xrd. I mean 6 years without a new version got boring. My character isn't even in Xrd and I'm excited enough about it that I will probably take the time to travel to tournaments for it again. I'm OG and I'm all hyped up for it.
  7. We got our start in Morehead. Most of us have moved on though. What games are you playing? I still live in the lexington Area so it's not too far from Morehead. I pretty much only play guilty gear though.
  8. As far as I know they're not posted anywhere yet.
  9. It's generally best to just guard low after KD against faust anyway. His overhead shenanigans are generally not that great against Anji, and his best bet is to use 2k after KD and try for a mixup from that. You have better options than trying to autoguard with 3s or 3k if you just guard and prepare yourself for what's next.
  10. Well when +R hits PSN I'll be down to play. Just figure out what character you want to learn.
  11. Kinda far away, and I definitely don't play any BB anymore. If you ever want to learn GG, that trip would be worth it for you.
  12. This. However if you do it fast enough 6236H will also work as well as 2366H. 2366H is by far the easiest in my opinion though.
  13. Where do you live?
  14. At what point did I tell the guy to spend all of his time practicing this combo? I just said practice it if he liked the combo. So let me correct my statement: Learn the basics of the game. They're deep and amazing. The options in this game are outstanding and knowing how to utilize them will improve your over all game tremendously. Learn how to use your character. Know the ins and outs of your character completely. Learn your basic BnB combos, learn them hard. Learn all the specific things your character can do. This adds an extra level to your game. Learn all the advanced character stuff that's still competitively viable. For example, Anji has a combo that requires you to run for a few frames before you fuujin. It's necessary to complete some BnBs. It's advanced, but you should learn it, because it's important to some of your match ups. Last, learn all the advanced, high damage, situational bullshit you want. If you think it's awesome, learn how to do it, and practice doing it. It's better to hear "Wow man, I can't believe you just did that" than to be saying "Yeah, I tried to do this combo, but I haven't practiced it too often, would have been awesome there though." For the record, he didn't ask "Is this practical" he asked "How can I train this combo" I'm not trying to argue that you shouldn't be practicing all the other things, that is correct. However, Awesome combos are awesome, and being able to do them, is awesome. I've lived in that world, a lot.
  15. Hmm, honestly don't crush the guy's dreams. I've watched a lot of ACR+ videos since my last post and they're doing a lot of IAD after ON combos. A lot of corner setup stuff too with them. Seems fine to me now. Don't crush someone's dreams because you don't deem it competitive/can't do it. The strongest competitive players are those who understand the character, the situation, the combos they can do from said situation, and the ability to execute said combos. If he wants to practice his heart out on those things, whose to judge?
  16. Didn't see anything on the opening page of the thread, so I'll ask, Has a console version of this game been announced for Japan?
  17. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q5-F3MPCgek AGF vs Ruu casuals.
  18. Also, if you see something in a video and you can't quite figure out an easy way to do it, usually the answer is to input something early. Like how GG will store that initial jump input while you're falling from ON. Even though you wouldn't actually jump if you landed on the stored input, the game will register 2 inputs of up anyway which allows for the fast IAD from the landing.
  19. Always try to flair up your GG game. That's part of what makes it the best fighting game. If you think those combos look flashy and cool, then practice them until you find what feels right. Practice them over and over. TBH I haven't followed AC+R changes that much, but I've seen a lot of IAD combos from Anji. I don't have the time to look it up, but perhaps the properties of ON have changed slightly. As far as a way to practice them, jamming out the IAD after the On isn't that difficult. Tap 8 before Anji hits the ground after On, then tap 7 or 9 the frame after he lands. If done right you'll IAD immediately as he lands on the ground. After that each character usually has a specific 2-3-4 hit air combo that ends in j.HS that puts you landing before they would. In AC and previous games there were character specific ways to do a second ON, but the combo shown in this video actually looks very practical as it looks like the timing on the j.k after the air dash isn't too strict. The hardest part of the double ON combo in AC and previous version was getting the second ON. At least for me personally. I'm excited to try the airdash combos when the patch drops. Keep on practicing the cool stuff Lynxfort. You got dis.
  20. No because if they don't I'm going to an MTG tournament instead.
  21. I'll be there if they patch GGAC before that.
  22. Didn't see this until just now. I went to D20 a few weeks ago to play magic.
  23. All of those things were possible in AC. They were just incredibly timing and spacing specific. The HS Fuujin into 5s was dependent on spacing to the corner and character weight class. The jHS, jD, jHS was entirely dependent on how large the beat counter was, and the delay of the hits in the air gatling through all of it. On Ky and Axl you had to delay each button press in order to be at the right height to hit their aerial hitboxes with the jHS. Hope that clears that up. However still confused on the fuujin because it seems much easier to do, and it seems quite different from the way it had to be done in AC.
  24. Don't forget you can dash forward and on after a shitsu. If they jump, you'll catch them and get another shitsu setup. If it doesn't hit you should be inputting the FRC anyway because the beauty of ON is it will always hit if it's going to and if not the FRC is a frame or so after it would miss. In other words, always put in the FRC when you ON. If the FRC comes out you have time to react and still do a bit of mixup. Including a falling HS which should cross-up if pressed at the right moment. :D
  25. Zinac and Myself have always played Guilty Gear. Played P4A for a little while. If you live in Lexington though, we could always throw down sometime.
