Actually Fairfax is a pretty cool place, and if you're lucky some fighting game tournaments will pop up while you're there. One of the first tournaments I ever went to was in Fairfax. Was a lot of fun, and also alcohol :p

I don't know too much about Dante but pretty much all the top players who were using him at Final round were comboing into devil trigger mode or whatever and then wailing. I estimate the combo does like 850k and built quite a bit of meter. I don't know the combo, and I can't find it really, but it was what PR Balrog was doing all day.

Or pick 1 character and just learn your match-ups good and bad.

Pretty much. I've now seen fights over every game I do believe except GG and Melty Blood, but I'm going to take the time that weeaboo threw his stick down at the floor after I beat him as a fight since that's probably the best he could. Everyone is chill as fuck when it comes to GG.
