  2. hahaha such truth in that video. You know, I was kind of getting bored of Tao and was considering trying other characters in CP but you guys always make me come back here and in the end I still keep playing with her.
  3. So I guess it's just a matter of practice. It's weird though, I get the feeling that by the time I am pressing the other three buttons it's already too late. Oh well, time hit the lab then.
  4. Any tip for S Tandem Top FRC? It's on frame 3-4 and I honestly can't figure out how to do it that fast. Nakamura makes it look so easy
  5. I don't know if it's been posted yet but I've found an interesting midscreen pin combo: 5S2H jKjSjH adc j2H(3)-S pin r.5S2H n.jSjH adc [j2H j236P] or [jH adc j2H] IT WORKS SMOOTHLY ON JOHNNY. I know we can attempt a classic jSjH adc j2H into relaunch but as you guys know it's not easy to adjust timing on him especially when coming off a match against a different character. This combo maintains the usual timing that Millia's bnbs have and we can still deal enough damage and get oki. The only downside is that the pin is "sacrificed" early so she won't be able to pick it up at the end. But it's still a good combo that might come useful, given how bothersome it is to combo midscreen on Johnny. Also,it seems to be working against other characters, which I'll be trying against later. [edit] Another easy combo that works comfortably on Johnny, does slightly less damage but still has good corner carry: 5S2H jKjSj2H(3) S-pin r.2H n.jSjH adc J2H [j233P] (it's not necessary to do Badmoon if the combo ends at the corner) or, for even more corner carry 5S2H jKjSj2H(3) S-pin r.2H b.jSjH adc jH adc J2H Gosh, I love how modulable Millia's combos are. [edit2] Well guess I never considered trying it out but this also works really well against Johnny: 5S2H n.jKjSjH adc j2H 5S2H jSjH adc j2H [236P or S Pin ender] after the relaunch it's possible to do jSjH adc jH adc j2H by slightly delaying the jSjH bit
  6. I'm not really looking into high damage (not that I'd complain if he could do that), but if he's able to get real oki even off basic hitconfirms and in midscreen that'd be really, really sweet. The only thing that kind of puts me off is how incredibly slow his dash is. I'm not expecting him to be a mobility character but seriously he's really slow.
  7. Tried Kagura for a half a hour and, unexpectedly, it's the one I seem to like the most among the new ones (well, until I can try Kokonoe too). Is it just me or does he seem to have a lot of potential for some sweet oki? Even midscreen. If he really turns out to work that way (okizeme oriented type of character) then I might consider having a new main. :o

  9. I don't think she really has any real bad matchup... against the other top tier character it seems to be mostly even. Rachel maybe? The way she is in CP can make things pretty frustrating even for Tao.
  10. There's really no character that plays like Millia in BB. If you're looking for that type of oki you'll hardly find anything close to that, as BB has a different type of ukemi compared to GG. But if you're looking for mobility and mixups, then go for Valk. Though it won't play like Millia does.
  11. I wouldn't mind if this game showed up on PC rather than consoles. It's true that it probably wouldn't be a tournament-friendly solution, but at the same if the game were to show up on Steam it could attract the attention of a lot of people and hopefully create new fans, both for the game and for the genre itself. And I am not saying I wouldn't want this on console, but if the game were to come on PC first, I don't think it would hurt at all...quite the opposite.
  12. finally got my artwork printed, and applied on my HRAP v3 stick I like it, but a certain amazing anime has recently begun and it sort of made me consider immediately doing a new artwork and this is what I came up with so far... :v
  13. I'm really having a tough time comboing on Johnny. Yesterday versus our local Johnny player I started going for a simple launcher > jK jS jH adc j2H BM without even attempting a relaunch. I tried doing the delayed jSjH sometimes but it's not exactly easy given how situational a lot of combos can be depending on what they were hitconfirm from. :<
  14. Why should I go against a given advice if I am learning the game and looking for different point of views? What's the point in asking for an opinion if I am going against it?
  15. reaVer I honestly don't know where you see an elitist behaviour here. A few months ago I got interested in learning GG after getting tired of BB and when I asked for advices I got useful tips and replies in return, without any hint of elitism. It may not be as active as it used to be years ago but honestly there's no way I could ever say that people here do not provide help or insight if anyone needs it.

  18. Kokonoe looks potentially like a fun character. It'd be nice if she could end her combos with knockdown close to the opponent rather than sending him away, given that graviton thing could turn into an interesting okizeme tool.
  19. You'll probably have to check the mail later, unless you've bought the actual physical card. As others have suggested japan-codes.com is a trustworthy alternative to play-asia and other notorious online import stores.
  20. Not really. "Abare" in japanese fighting game communities is used when talking about characters getting out of pressure/oki through a move (a reversal, or just a fast normal), interrupting the other player's momentum. It's also often used during japanese commentaries during matches. The term used for the scenario you're describing (which is simply the ability to efficiently impose your game during the neutral phase) is "tachimawari" (立回り).
  21. WIP of the artwork I'm creating for my Hori RAP v3 SA Kai, Xrd Millia Themed I'm pondering whether I should leave it as it is or if I should add a few more elements. I'd like to keep it not too crowded given that the area for the artwork on this stick is pretty narrow. [edit] added one more element and made a couple of small changes
  22. I really hope they're going to make them ADCable again in the next loketest, it's one of the most fun aspects of Millia.

I'm fine talking in here, it's not like this subforum is so crowded to warrant its own separate video discussion thread, unless it bothers anyone else of course. :v Also JUN is gradually becoming my favourite Millia player, maybe he's not as insane as Woshige but he's so fun to watch, and for some reason I think he's a lot more useful to study from for someone who's learning the character like me.
