From FAB, his own explanation of how RC system works in Xrd: - As the RC occurs, the game slows down by about 2-3 times its normal speed - Everything slows down with the exception of the player who RCed, hitstop increases and projectiles practically "freeze" in place. - Slow-mo duration is shorter for Yellow RC and Purple RC compared to Red RC - Slow-mo duration for the Red RC seems to be around 30 frames - When an attack connects during the slow down window, the slow effect gets canceled and speed reverts back to normal

  6. I'd say it's better wait and let the game come out first, wouldn't you agree? There's just too many changes to be able to comfortably suggest any character at all. Let the game come out and let a few months pass and then maybe there'll be enough information and material for people in order to make up their mind on which character they might like using.
  7. Millia has never been about in-your-face pressure like Jam, I don't know where you guys are getting that idea from. She's always had crazy good oki but her pressure has never been anything to write home about, if the opponent guesses right she has to take risks if she wants to keep up the pressure and she doesn't really have any fantastic blockstrings unlike other characters. The only way she can try putting some pressure is when going for Secret Garden oki and that really works only at the corner and not even against the whole cast. She's more about moving around efficiently and create the right opening with it or through her pin rather than dashing and staying in while pushing buttons. It's also one of the reasons why she needs to keep scoring knockdowns, as she does a better job at oki than keeping the opponent blocking for a long time. If you play Millia the same way you'd play Jam you're going to get murdered. And in Xrd, if they're going to keep the changes they've implemented in the last loke test, they took out some of her gatlings and made c.S not jump cancelable anymore so to me it doesn't look like Millia isn't going to put any real pressure at all. She's going to to do her oki as usual and if the opponent guesses right it's likely going to be back playing neutral.
  8. Well I guess that's fair. Though I think it'd be cool if one could do it since it'd force anyone who's attacking to actively think and consider another layer of defence. But then again maybe the game would turn out too complex which would defeat the whole purpose of making it accessible for the wider audience.
  9. If you can do it out of nothing but standing still then I guess you could use it against "hard to react to" mixups? Like you could slow down the time and you get to see what the opponent is going to do allowing you to guard properly. If you can do that on wakeup then oki is going to be more interesting and way less autopilot, since you'll have to take into account the possibility of the opponent YRCing in order to "see" your mixup. But again this is wild speculation. I guess we'll have to wait and see if anyone thinks of trying this sort of things once the game comes out.

If you manage to land TK Badmoon or Iron Savior at the corner while this super is active you can pick up the opponent with one of the roses into a combo. However you won't gain any meter during the combo itself. - He played +R after trying Xrd and he felt +R was faster. He thinks in general overall actually there isn't a huge speed difference but it's more like moves having longer hitstop (he used Millia's pin as comparison) and characters feeling heavier.

The only time when it could be worth it is when it's used combination with Iron Savior.

  17. From what I've read Nakamura mentioned jD not knocking a grounded opponent down, but maybe it still does knockdown an airborn opponent? Also is it just me or they've removed the Millia-copter again?

Bearing in mind that I know little about Venom: - 2S>H Stinger FRC now requires a RC instead - after guarding Greed Sever if you don't have 50% all you can do as counter is 2S>H Stinger, the risk-reward is kind of screwed up - He feels the way RC works in Xrd it's going to be like this for other characters as well (about the risk-reward situations)
  19. Honestly the only real serious nerf IMHO is c.S not being jump cancelable as it does somewhat hurt her pressure, but other than that it looks like her gameplan still seems to be roughly the same and as long as it remains like that she'll be a solid character, IMHO.
  20. These are not severe nerfs at all. It's not like they're removing the most important aspects of her game plan. If anything, they're tuning some of the things that made her too good in the previous installments.

  23. The jp players on twitter were talking about it for knockdown purposes rather than damage.
  24. Nakamura and other jp players on twitter basic aerial combo routes: - jSjD > jc adf > jPjHS - jKjSjD > jc adf > jSjHS The second one apparently can be comfortably ended with her pin no matter if the opponent during the combo is upclose or not.
  25. It should be. It's simply not 100% reversal safe (but it never used to be completely safe in previous GG installments either unless you FRC'd it or used FB Pretty Maze). If you want to make it completely safe you need to YRC it.
