It's because being able to easily convert her pokes via RC (5S>5H>RC) into solid damage and oki is a real blessing in disguise. Chroming Rose is absolutely going to be useful but given her nerfs to her pin, no airdash cancels, increased pushback from jH, it's definetely not a bad thing to be able to atleast make her pokes more threatening when she's got meter for a RC. Xrd Millia has a harder time creating momentum in terms of options available when she's in neutral, but now she has an easier time confirming out of them. So it's not like she's wasting her meter if you see japanese players RCing 5S>5H most of the times.

It was expected given that they've used #R as a "foundation" rather than AC. Honestly I still think she has plenty of interesting things, not to mention that it's only been like what, four months since release? There could still be new things being discovered just like it happened with all previous iterations (look at all the cool Chroming Rose setups and ways to abuse that super). She has been "nerfed" in a few aspects if you compare her to her AC iteration but her core gameplay is still there.

Since I'm moving to the UK in September, I guess I can safely say that I'll be there. I'm mostly interested in GG (I'm fine playing +R too if Xrd won't be available yet) and potentially UNIEL.

A lot of people who are new to this serie will often mistake Millia for a more "agile" version of Jam or any other rushdown character. If anyone is eager to press buttons and win poke wars they should be looking into playing other characters (like Sol). Millia's neutral revolves around space control/movement and baiting the opponent into situations where she can safely run in/dash in/throw the pin and score a knockdown. p.s. I'm back! Sorry for the absence everyone, I've been really busy with work, but now I'm finally on vacation and I can get back to helping out here, uploading videos and whatnot. I'll probably won't be hunting for the vids of these past 2 months (unless there are must-see vids that anyone hasn't uploaded yet, do let me know!) and I'll directly start from the current week.

I can relate to that. As I said, I'm not against having more characters right from the start, but in case it ends up being 15 characters total for the first release I'm still ok with it and I honestly wouldn't feel as disappointed as other users seem to be right now. We're getting the game this year, that alone is something that I would have never thought being possible as it usually takes atleast one year between arcade and home consoles release. -

It's not an "excuse", seriously I think this is probably the first time I recall the game being released on home systems within way less than a year since its arcade release. To read people being "disppointed" because the roster "only" has 15 characters is nearly unbelievable. But I guess people will find something to whine and cry about even when the game comes out so surprisingly soon. -

Although I do agree that "the more the merrier" I really think some of you are overracting about the size of the roster. 15 characters is absolutely not a small number, there's a good variety of fighting game character archetypes for nearly anyone. For a first iteration of a new serie it's actually a considerably large number. Think about BBCT, P4A, and other fighting games' initial roster size. -

Even if it were to be released in November it would still be quite an early release for a game that has been out in the arcades for less than a year. -

Sorry for the lack of updates guys, I've been away two weeks. First post has been updated with all the vids up till Kiba's post. I'm going to dig through NicoNico and YT and link/upload all the Millia vids of these past weeks.

I think it's fine that rose install doesn't lead to huge damage, that's not its purpose anyway. Its purpose is to get the opponent to keep blocking allowing her to mixup highs and lows safely. It's a pretty scary tool just because of that. The way it is now Millia has a lot of ways to spend her meter and none is significantly more prominent than another. I like it, it leaves freedom of choice to the player on how to make use of that depending on the matchup and opponent.

Yeah Chroming Rose seems really good, though it doesn't look like it gets used as often as I had imagined. I guess it's because even though the meter gain is really quick Millia may still benefit from YRC uses (oki, Turbofall, S Tandem etc). I've even seen some players YRCing Secret Garden to bait opponents into charging blindlessly.
