  1. @Leo7, the japanese users at stream chat were saying that Nasubi/NSB = Kyaku, but I wasn't sure wether they were joking or not (I honestly don't know how Kyaku looks like IRL, whereas I do know how Chou and Tsujikawa look like). And yeah, "NSB" is also the abbreviation for that tournament, Nagoya Street Battle Anyway, tournament was pretty damn hype, lots of intense moments and most of all finally lots of character variety and not just one or two characters dominating the brackets. I liked people doing well with Mu (Blacky, on a roll until he faced Chou) and Tsubaki (Shachou), Platinum, Tager players... Eesuke's Carl was almost on the verge of doing a reverse OCV as well The only one that got me facepalming was Sakkaishi's Noel, shamelessly mashing that 2D like there was no tomorrow
  2. Yep. You can look at the Best 8 teams brackets here: http://photozou.jp/photo/photo_only/1230371/61877977 Team that won was team NTT (Chou, Tsujikawa, NSB), second place team is the one with Donchan (Litchi), SUB (Tager) and Shachou (Tsubaki)
  3. the Tsubaki player, Shachou, was pretty amazing
  4. Freaking Platinum, even Astroll'd Donchan looks like the Platinum player is NSB good god NSB is trolling hard and showing off, haha NSB OCV, amazing Platinum too bad I didn't get to see Tsujikawa play neither in semis nor final nevermind, apparently the Platinum player is NSB
  5. Chou bodying Blacky in round 3, CS2 Litchi is still looking pretty damn solid [edit] Chou OCV'd the whole opponent team Now it's the final
  6. Chou's Litchi on Semifinal 2 on the stream right now jeez freaking 2D-happy Noel [edit]Litchi's j.B FTW, glad that Noel lost, it was unbearable to see so many 2D's thrown nonchalantly like that
  7. Versus and training mode is all I need.
  8. They can't remove it unless they remove the 2D~6 > cat2 link as well, and she'd end up with no valid combo enders. Besides, cat2loop isn't really an issue damage-wise. However they will likely remove the j.8D~A loop sooner or later.
  9. I've been looking at the website's BBCS page but the date on when the BBCS Solo tournament is going to be played is a bit confusing. In your posts here it's reported that the solo tournament will take place on Feb 26th, while on the tournament's website it says the solo tournament will be spread between Saturday and Sunday (Feb 26th and Feb 27th). Could you clear this up please? Because if I can save a bit of money by booking one less night at the residence/hotel that'd be great.
  10. Haha yeah, the best thing about it is that people can practice this on CS1 as well and will hardly have to adapt at all in CS2.
  11. Thanks! Besides the infos posted in the previous page there's an other interesting one saying that you can get 5 reps with j.8D~A with the 5B > 6A(2) route when done at the corner (it's 3 reps when done midscreen). Honestly I'm kind of surprised ArcSys overlooked this. As Taokakaism pointed out this stuff existed in CS1 as well but never got used simply because the taunt loop was a better option. Likely they never bothered to research into it seeing that none of the players at tournaments would use j.8D~A combos. They will most likely remove it, considering that now even the coin-op can be easily patched via online system, and considering ArcSys' stand when it comes to same move loops.
  12. Riku, can you link me the posts is the japanese BBS, I can have a look at them and tell you if there's more info stuff we're missing on Tao's j.8D
  13. Pre-registered! I should be able to make it this time, provided that I find a place to stay at a reasonable price. Other fellow players from my local scene should be joining up both for singles and team tournament.
  14. Wow. Has the burst mechanic changed or something (proration)? And how exactly can she skyrocket that damage this much? Taunt has awful proration, drive gets same move proration... I'm really curious to see how that's even possible.
  15. Still doesn't look too safe though. In one of the recent vids that have been posted in the video thread in general section Tao got easily DP'd after she drive canceled a blocked 3C > 236A
  16. I'd say her pressure is even better, her "new" j.B hits pretty deep and looks plenty useful both for jump-ins and for 2D~B mixups. If she can pressure this well it's not too bad then even if she deals less damage she still is going to be solid. People will simply need to rely less on j.D and more footsies/air footsies to get in or bait shit. Her throw combos deal 3.5k, and that's pretty good given that her ground throw range has been buffed a little and that she is one of the characters that uses airthrow the most (thanks to her air mobility)
  17. Well, more like that Arakune wasn't that great either. Tao doesn't look that much different except for her combos using 6A > 22C as launcher string, and with the damage being considerably lower.
  18. found it! http://bbcs2.net/index.php the ranking you want look for is the PSR one. Apparantly Tsujikawa switched to Makoto (but there still other notorious players playing Tao, like Izayoi Matoi or Kazu)
  19. I'd like to check it out, link!
  20. IMO It makes a lot of sense. Her air to air game has been brought back to what it was like in CT (less neutral j.D, more air footsies > j.C), her j.C should still have its some damn good range and if opponents are aware of that option it'll make them more honest when approaching in the air. In a lot of matchups this could be a really nice tool (especially against Arakune, as long as his air-game doesn't get as retarded as it was in CT).
  21. buffed 5C is good, ground footsies with her should be key given her speed. People will still have to respect her from midrange even if she can't drive mindlessly anymore. Doesn't look like it. It looks like they kept her CS1 cat2 enders, meaning that most of her damage still comes from cat2x5. They might still find a way to use her j.B like cat2 worked in CT to score a knockdown but likely that'll mean sacrificing damage. If this kind choice/situation will pop up then it could be useful in specific matchups (against zoners, for once).
  22. Guess we won't know until people in Japan try that! But again, even if that was possible would that really make it safe? You can't barrier guard right away and 214D basically throws you on the opponent's face at the end of your blockstring, given that opponents have 5B/5C air unblockables... it doesn't look like a good way to reset/end pressure to me. Besides, if it's true that 5B and 5C have been raised back to their CT level (more blockstun/hitstun) hitconfirming with them shouldn't really be a problem as long as one is not blindly throwing blocked 5B > 3C at point blank. Really, this is a non-issue, it's just a good incentive to be less lazy and pay more attention to hitconfirms before going into 3C>stuff
  23. fair enough!
  24. If she can't cancel 3C into drives she shouldn't be able to cancel into 214D, right? :\ Unless I missed it in the jp board I haven't read about anything like that. Anyway, even if you cancel 3C's first hit into cat1/cat3 it's still going to be easy to IB and it doesn't really push her out of the opponent's range either. resetting with her drives from close distance means she could eat an air-unblockable poke as well. I don't know, on paper it doesn't look like a safe option to me (it wasn't that safe in CT/CS1 either). As I said, if it turns out like this it's not a serious nerf. It's actually a good incentive to learn proper hitconfirming rather than blindly autopiloting 5B/5C > 3C Besides, it looks like 2A > 5B > 3C fully enters when hitconfirmed, and if it's true that hitconfirmed 5B > 5B works too it might mean that getting into 3C is not going to be too dramatic. There'll likely be atleast two chained normals you can hitconfirm with.
  25. Sure, but I think you're forgetting how bloody easy is to IB both a full 3C and her specials. Even if they nerfed the IB, by the time she uses cat1 the opponent has already IBed atleast two of the three hits of 3C, and can IB CAT1/CAT3 first hit as well. Not saying you can't do that, but is it really worth the risk? They way it looks right now using 3C in blockstrings is going to get her severely punished. That is good, because finally players will stop being lazy and hitconfirm first.
