  1. CS2 Carl's non-loop resets are actually a million times better than CS1. It's just that there's not really a reason to choose to do them over the unblockable. If you weren't doing the unblockable, any combo could still lead into a DP-safe 50/50 mixup, which is something CS1 Carl could not do. Also, for CS2+: 2A 5B 623C 22D 2C 236A sj.A j.C 3D airdash j.A j.B delay j.A j.2C j.A j.A > j.B+3D I really hope ArcSys realizes that they need a better solution to get rid of the loop (and same as everyone else, I want more Nirvana health to compensate. Also they should probably just remove 6C full charge or something to make Hakumen happier)
  2. The combo works for sure on Noel, Rachel, and Tager. Just delay the first j.2C more until you get it. For the other characters, input the volante during the first j.B and omit the second j.2C to make it all connect.
  3. Something that will make it so that when you get to the j.A j.C combo reset, j.A has a slight amount more hitstun than in this video. Something like 5B 6B 623C, or sandwich 2A 5B 623C 6B etc.

  5. So I just figured out a way to bait Tsubaki's 623A during the unblockable reset so that she can't RC it or go into the followups. I am happy. The downsides: it requires a double jump, and if they don't DP, I can't do an unblockable. However, I get to continue to pressure her on block anyway. Might require 50 meter to go back into the loop on hit, need to test it more. I'm pretty sure I can also figure out a way to apply my universal DP RC bait to work on a Tsubaki with both 50 meter and 3 charges, but I haven't really played around with it yet. Edit: Paul, lol, I had no idea that even existed. I guess that puts me above players who are better than me in their main games than I am in mine respectively, simply because I play Blazblue.
  6. Can't be scared of someone who isn't even gonna be there! In other news, I think I'm just about done learning new things about Carl's unblockable reset and dealing with reversals. I still can't apply a lot of it correctly either due to the execution required or due to the fact that other people won't know what I'm baiting (or not baiting), so the 50/50 mixup is basically a 100/0 until people get used to it.
  7. Yeah, these video games are hard work. In other news, watching the videos of Tokido playing Blazblue at Shadowloo Showdown... I'm so sad. He's playing so much worse than he did at CEO. At this rate he'll start losing in American tournaments again.
  8. Anyone know the correct way to stop Arakune from backdashing out of j.B+3D? What I've thought of is input a forward dash during the hitstop of j.B, then 5B 6B 623C. I figure there's probably a way to pick up the combo back into the loop from there, but I haven't actually tried. And I don't know if there's a more efficient way (mostly in reference to Nirvana meter) to do the same thing.
  9. Well I mostly wasn't able to go due to being at a beach with other people instead.
  10. Actually the problem I've had with doing it on everyone else is that they hit Nirvana out of 3D and can RC even if you backdash (the only other exception I remember is Jayoku). I'll test it some more though.
  11. lol From what I remember I lost because of bad execution and blocking, but definitely not footsies (except in winners semis when I got blown up by 6A)
  12. I think that when you go for a j.2C j.A j.A j.B+3D reset on Makoto, you can do an option select backdash, hold 4, then 5B 6B 623C to prevent her from DP RCing out. The DP should whiff and then Nirvana counterhits her before she flies away.
  13. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=whhB0Fkijeo Here's the reset I was talking about.
  14. So has anyone else noticed that doing the standard unblockable loop on Bang ranges from hard to impossible? I've started ending my combos with j.2C > j.B > j.A > j.2C > (slight delay) j.A > j.B+3D omitting the second j.A at the end, but introducing a delay before the first one. This still beats Ashura if you're blocking, but I haven't tested to make sure it still beats everything else. EDIT: to clarify, I can still get the normal ender to connect from a 2A 5B 623C 2C 236A ... combo. But if I start with, for example, a throw, I can't get the normal ender to connect, so I started testing this instead.
  15. Don't know if anyone's mentioned this already, but get used to hitconfirming 2A 5B 623C; the combo tutorial video posted a while back used 2A 5B 6B 623C, but that doesn't work universally. As for j.A j.A j.B+3D, you want to release D before the first j.A hits, but after you hit the button and the move's startup begins. Ideally one or two frames after the move starts.
  16. I'm up for CS2 netplay since I'm no longer in Atlanta. Meanwhile, first impression of CS2 Carl after actually playing a few matches with him: He's dumb and I should switch to Litchi/Rachel/whoever.
  17. I don't think I'm going to Augusta Super after all. As for the "maybe other plans" thing regarding CEO, scratch that. I am definitely on the list of people wanting to split a hotel room.
  18. @Chris: What time would you guys be leaving Atlanta for Augusta Super? If it isn't too early, then I would be able to meet you somewhere and go with you, assuming that's okay with you (and assuming there actually will be BB of course). Also I would be willing to split the hotel cost, but I *might* have other plans. Not sure at the moment.
  19. I was going to ask about also hitching a ride to Augusta Super, but then I noticed that the thread on SRK doesn't mention Blazblue and became a lot less interested. Also, good thing I have LoL to pass the time until CS2 finally comes around.
  20. I'm tempted to buy CS for 360 and practice on pad until the time comes to switch back to PS3. This is probably a horrible idea and I wish I had a dual-modded stick like everyone else.
  21. I've been telling my friends that CS2 Carl is CT Carl all over again, but it's mostly as a joke. But yes, if Carl hits you in the right situation, he can kill characters from full health with this loop. It's pretty silly. The characters that can most easily get out of it are once again Rachel and Hakumen (well, I haven't seen a video of Rachel getting out of it, but I imagine it's possible with backdash + wind; meanwhile, Hakumen can guess and counter). And about the whole "almost unblockable 1 frame to guard" thing: that's the Guilty Gear way. That doesn't apply in Blazblue; perfectly timed unblockables are actually unblockable (and they're really annoying when you accidentally get them with 6B+2D, since you only want "almost unblockables" with 6B).
  22. No desire to practice Blazblue? I'm actually more motivated to play it than I have been the past few months. I even started learning Valkenhayn so people could get matchup experience. I'll probably still be here on Friday also.
  23. I apologize about yesterday Paul, I fell asleep at my computer while I was waiting.
  24. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0TuKXvNjeyI Not the most practical thing ever in CS1, but proof that Carl can in fact do a frame trap DP-safe unblockable reset.
  25. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=joSOqzOqobs#t=44m10s DP-safe unblockable that can reset into itself? I like this character.
