Brio was absolutely air unblockable in CT; barrier would not save you. Airthrow brio loops wouldn't be an issue any more than they currently are. Either way, I doubt they'd put it back to how it was in CT. Actually, during the CS1 loketests, even I was hoping they'd change it to stop being unblockable, but just need barrier.

I still am very interested in going to NEC. Also, I intend to learn new combos with Carl to test a different playstyle for a bit. Hopefully I'll actually remain motivated to do that. -
Volante doesn't have same move proration, so the damage is pretty close to the same either way. On the other hand, doing volante x2 takes a greater amount of Nirvana meter than volante 4D (difference of slightly more than 5% of Nirvana's total).

Things like 3C 22D > air dash > j.2C allecan > sj.2C ... work on everyone. Alter the airdash and summon timing based on the distance from the opponent and who the opponent's character is. Superjump is required on Rachel, Arakune, Hakumen (IIRC), Hazama, and I believe Valkenhayn (although I just do the superjump against everyone now because I find it easier). If you're trying to do j.2C allecan sj.2C]D[ combos, be careful not to get 22D instead; I avoid this by rotating the stick starting at 2, going up to 9, and ending at 1. I don't remember if launching the opponent with something like 2D or volante (or fermata), then doing j.2C allecan sj.2C works on everyone. Rachel and Arakune are the only problematic characters. Will test and edit this post later. EDIT: 3C > fermata > j.2C allecan > sj.2C > j.C > 2D does work on Rachel/Arakune/Valkenhayn. Should work on everyone.

And there's no reason for them not to be crouching. There is absolutely no reason for the j.B to connect against an opponent who is trying to block, which makes this useless.

If you ever find yourself doing a blockstring on an aerial opponent close to the ground, letting them land during blockstun gives you a fuzzy guard setup (example: do 5B, opponent regular or barrier blocks in the air, do j.B as opponent lands. They'll be in standing position). Obviously this isn't something you would generally aim to get, but if the situation arises, it's nice to know. Does not work. Crouching causes the j.B to whiff in every situation.

Yeah. Both can be done in the same situations, except this one does more damage (about 900 more) and most likely works on all characters (2C combo does not work on Hazama and has issues working on Arakune; I haven't tested this combo on all characters yet, but it works on those two). Edit: I'll record it when I get a replacement AC adapter for my laptop, hopefully before the weekend.

I dunno if everyone already knows this or whatever, but Carl's 5C has 85% P1 on counter hit and 100% P1 on normal hit. A strange little detail.

Maybe he meant to say he discussed it with Ivysaur and Crushr. He's talking about two separate gatherings. Today's would be the main one, filled with lots of playing Blazblue, probably at Jewdo's place. Tomorrow, the NorCal Install tournament will be streamed, and he was talking about watching that together as a small party for anyone interested (and also bringing a setup for some more Blazblue or whatever). I don't know where that one would be. Also, I probably won't make it to the gathering today. We'll see. -
Good job, Zoogstin. Looking forward to the videos. I won a tournament yesterday as well, although there aren't going to be any BBCS videos because we were all tired and wanted to get it done as soon as possible; we didn't wait to switch the setup to one being recorded/streamed (I didn't want people to see how sloppy my Carl is after getting 5 hours of sleep total in the past 2 days anyway) The Carl in that video is the one who made the Ambivalent World combo video. It's a shame that he lost the SBO qualifier (or qualifiers?) he entered, I would've loved to see him in that.

You can reset a sandwiched Lambda with 5B 6B j.B > j.C+3D; she can't backdash or DP out, so it's much stronger on her than on the other characters. If she crouches, force standing: j.C+3D > 5B > 2B > 6B > 6D > 6C > 5B > 6B > j.B > reset

Corner meterless oki idea 8D knockdown, CNO positioning Wait to see if the opponent emergency techs (this is the immediate neutral tech upon hitting the ground). If they don't, do 3]D[-3C-tap 9. If they neutral teched, 3D hits meaty and you can start pressure (you don't jump since 3C whiffed). If they did anything else (quick getup, forward/backward roll, or nothing at all), combo into j.B dj.2C j.214C 8D j.2C j.214C 8D for over 3k and back into the same situation. Basically, this is a meterless way to force the opponent to stay in the corner or take a nice chunk of damage for trying to get out. I did the testing with the training dummy as another Carl, I'll try on more characters some time later and try to put a video up if there's interest. Edit: 3D doesn't hit twice on all characters, which makes j.B whiff. Followup combo should start with j.2C j.C dj.2C allecan 8D (this was only tested on Hazama so far). 3C 3D j.2C j.C dj.2C allecan 8D j.2C j.C 2D j.2C allegretto 8D cantata 8D = 5.1k

Update! It works on these 4 characters if you do j.2C allecan superjump forward j.2C j.C 2D. However, you have to make the command interpreter not give you a 22D instead of 2D. I don't know how exactly this works, but I'm consistently getting it with a quick 360 motion starting at 2. I imagine as long as you never hit neutral, it works? On another note, DP punish combo, or any other situation where you can land 3C starter: 3C 22D > IAD j.2C allecan j.2C j.C 2D > j.2C allecan 5C volante > (optional j.2C allecan 5C volante) > j.2C allecan j.B j.C 8D > j.2C j.C 2D > j.2C j.B 2D > j.2C allegretto 8D > (optional 214214D) With all optional parts, does 6.7k, net gain of about 20 meter (gains about 70 meter without the super at the end) 3C 22D > IAD j.2C allecan > 2C 214214D > j.2C allecan j.2C j.C 2D > j.2C allecan 5C volante > j.2C allecan j.B j.C 8D > j.2C j.C 2D > j.2C j.B 2D > j.2C allegretto 8D > (optional 214214D) 7.1k with super at the end, 6.2k and oki without it. Gains enough meter to use the super at the end regardless. Combos transcribed from memory, possibly not 100% accurate. I'll check later.
