6c is too risky at times, it's worth it if there's a big enough gap in a blockstring vs low mashers, but it's more of a matter of yomi than reaction, fun fact though, CH 6c (no rekkas) goes into 5a, j.a, j.c, j.d. With 6c's proration, you may be able to afford going for a dive cancel. As for 2b, there is one non CH follow up and it's vs grounded opponent's only, it also depends on range. 2b > 2a > 5b > 5d - close range only. 2b > 2a > 5a > 6b > j.6d - mid range. 2b > 2a > 2c (with 50 meter > RC 5d > j.a > j.c > j.d) - max range. CH changes the story, CH is the only way to follow up on air hit, refer to CT combos or CS1 Dive combos. Grounded CH can go into 5a > 6b, or 2d (lol, good times).

At least Tager has changes that are important enough to provoke discussion. 6B > 6D, lolidk

[CSE-CP] The Funny Things I Do With Ragna (A Guide To Tricks and Gimmicks)
Skye replied to LuminAbyss's topic in Archive
6d is airborne on F20, so the dash is highly unnecessary in most cases you end up getting counter grabbed. I've eaten more than my fair share of 720s trying that, it's best to not dash in, but instead build it up by 2aaaaaaaaaaaaa, then go for 2a > delay 6d, won't always work, but it's less risky than dashing in. If you got it made like that, try 2a, dash, TK GH. -

Community Project: BBCS2 Character Tutorial Videos UPDATED MAY 2ND
Skye replied to Spirit Juice's topic in Archive
New mechanics, new attacks, all sorts of things that change the scope of how the game is to be played for almost every character. It's a tough call, since when the latest BB is announced, no one is going to care much for the stuff that we're stuck with due to lack of a strong arcade scene nationwide. On the other hand, the new renditions get localized 6 or so months after arcade release, so for new people coming around it will be a treat, plus it will prep them for what is to come later. Another agreement with just getting it on and over with. We got some HD recording software in Michigan, plus a few of us are head of the respective character tutorials, Luna, Axis and myself to name a few (if not all), we already got a feel for our respective characters and can come out with all the required footage in a dedicated afternoon at the latest. -

[CS1-CSE] Road to Ikaruga - The Bang Social thread - Do you even 3c?
Skye replied to DaiAndOh's topic in Bang Shishigami
Well now he's slightly improved, so now the nerf seems fine. See, it doesn't work both ways, it was always stupid, justifying the stupidity doesn't really make it not stupid. If that was the case, CS1 Arakune would have been a-ok. -

Gotta admit, command grab to 5-7k is pretty ridiculous. -
Party hard, Tager players.

I love 5d buff. That is all. -
That's my birthday! But seriously, too soon.

It's tacked down to muscle memory, you have to press 66/44 later than expected, but you have to press it fast, if it makes any sense.

A fellow Arakune main, giving critique in the Arakune Video and Critique Thread. Who are you? His groupie? @Leo, I understand more than anyone the extra circumstances that factor in during play, but all viewers have to go on is the video content itself. I have to assume he's of (mostly) calm mind and playing under fair circumstances. Sucks to hear that though.

I don't understand the end of that sentence, but I'd love to head north to play some folks, my Arakune is far from perfect and even I have to practice what I preach, but the experience is always good.

This one's for you, kou. I got several things to talk about. First and foremost, you played very well, I like your movement pattern, it's very unorthodox, even for Arakune, that works well for psychological warfare. Also, I really enjoyed that curse combo set up you played out in round 1 of match 3, very solid, your defense is also on point, you blocked overheads, which is a luxury in America. Now on the other hand there were a few things that could have been resolved better. Your confirms need work, you did a lot of 5a > 6bs that could have served a better purpose like 5a > 2a > 5b > 5d at minimum range, or 5a > j.a > j.c > j.d on air hit (I'll have to see if you can get a DC 5d in there). You also took 5c AA for granted, when Ragna refuses to space his air hits, 2b will shoot any air attempt he tries to shit, it beats j.a/c/d clean, it trades with j.b in your favor, it low profiles under air ID and it recovers in time if he tries to feint with BE, at any time if he chose to start throwing out air IDs, 5c would have failed you. You also took backdash for granted as well, all Hsien needed to do was wait on wake up and react to the slow backdash that actually has recovery now, Hsien didn't seem like he was accustomed to the match up at that level of play, so you managed very wisely, Hsien was also very impatient which will throw that match up far in Arakune's favor. It could very well be EVO nerves, but you mess up all your unblockable resets and all of you 100% curse gold burst hitters. You also got thrown a lot. You seem to be a risk-free Arakune, I tend to take a few risks myself, but I do know that 5a > IAD j.a > j.a is one of my favorite pressure strings, especially if they like to Barrier. We also could have seen more rising j.b > j.4b or rising j.b > IAD j.4b if you got the exe down. Overall you played solid, but if Hsien knew a bit more on the match up, I don't know if you would have pulled through.

Tao is a retarded match up now. Gotta consider that, and Fumo was always the one who pulled through the most in bad match ups, not Souji.

The combo is so silly, and props to Dora for actually doing it on that scrawny Noel hitbox. -
5D is jump and special cancellable on block and hit, and it has like 43 frames of recovery, we have literally NO reason to not do either of the 2. You're wasting your meter if you hotenjin a blocked 5d, unless you are sure Arakune is trying to resume pressure. Arakune has frame traps for the mashing type, he has tool against jump outs as well, his pressure is far from the best, but don't count it out. The better Arakunes will do rising j.b > j.4b which beats mashing non AA/DP moves and jump out, it eats even Tager's backdash and is pointless to barrier, he can jump cancel any of his moves into a n IAD j.4aa string which gets around barrier blocking, and it's a decent mix up tool.
