1. But it makes the matchup in our favor even more! Because at first you thought you had no easy out, and no you have no out anyway! So Tager gets free busters all day. Pathological Science at it's best.
2. But the thing I see is that a Noel that gets hit by this realizes that they have no way out and they start blocking. Which makes my life easier in the long run.
3. Yeah I know what you meant. I'm saying that not every matchup in the game should be designated by tiers in a balanced game. Even bottom tier should have a favorable matchup or two (Tsubaki for instance)
4. OP will be updated weekly for everything that is gaming related going on in the state of Illinois as I hear/read about it. Time to get this community up and running. Goddamnit guys it's about time we got this area known for something again! With Bob Washington out of Illinois to run a business in Denver, it's left us with 0 respect in the Guilty Gear scene. I'd say lets rebuild it from the ground up, but it'll be impossible to regain it's former glory. Hopefully when the next GG is announced everything will be good as gold and everyone will come out of the woodworks to play. Alrighty then, let's get this show on the road! Gatherings AreaXIII 4N481 9th Ave Addison, Illinois Closed until further notice. Food and gas stations all over the place. Relatively easy to get to from every direction. Galloping Ghosts Arcade 9415 Ogden Avenue Brookfield, Illinois 60513 Opened up August 14. As of right now the Arcade is still being put up. Around 150~ arcade games of varying genres. If you went to arcades around you as a kid and enjoyed playing those games, they are probably here. Once they are stable and are a staple in Illinois they will start updating the arcade with newer fighters and shmups. There are 2 back rooms for BYOC sessions and for hosting events. One for PS3 has 4 televisions, 4 PS3s and a couch or two, and the same with 4 360s 4 televisions in the other room. Could be a place for good gatherings in the near future. Open: TBA Prices: $15 door fee. All arcade games are on freeplay. Console Rooms are $3 an hour unless a big gathering is scheduled there for the night. Then it's free all night long. Notable Games available: -SSF4, SFA2, SFA3, SF, SF3:3S -CvS 1 and 2 -XvSF, MvC, MvC2, MSH, MSHvSF, X:COTA -Tekken 4 =/ -Vampire Savior 2 (Vampire Savior is being built ATM) -Samsho 1-6 -KoF 94 through XI -MK 1 2 4 UMK3 -X-Men (4 player cab) -Simpsons (4 player cab) -AVP (2 player cab) -Primal Rage -Centipede, Roadblasters, Pac-Man, etc...if you played it, they probably have it. Easy access from the city as the train station is right there. Happ Buttons. Happ Sticks. SSFIV cab is laggy right now. Everything else is fine. MvC2 only has 10 characters unlocked. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Upcoming Events: Ultimate Fighting Game Tournament 7: Resurrection 2010 will be the last showing of Midwest Championships in Illinois. DreamTR requested the rights of the event back from Keits and was given the name MWC back for any tournament/promotion he may do in the future. But this doesn't mean the end of MWC or any Chicago Major. In fact Keits is continuing the legacy by starting a new tournament with a new name, on the same date. Same place as last year, and the games are to be announced as of yet. But this is THE Chicago Major. Best show up to this as it is one of those events that you must be at. As someone who participated and enjoyed the atmosphere, I can personally attest that there is an energy in the air when this tournament goes down. One of the greatest things to ever happen in the decades of Chicago area fighting games is about to get bigger and better for years to come. Useful Links: Edited Later
5. The arcade itself is $15 an hour. All games are on freeplay. The BYOC section may or may not be the $15 an hour. Unsure as of yet about that. They are 'Building' a SSF4 setup with a 42 inch monitor and a PS3 inside the cabinet with 2 sticks set up ready to go. When they start gaining momentum I'll put in a word about getting an AC and a CS cabinet as well. Maybe an HnK setup? Lord knows everyone loves some Jesus Beams.

6. And host a small $5 tournament to compliment the grand opening of course. Galloping Ghosts Arcade. Look it up.

7. Yeah. We are also trying to host weekly/bi-weekly ranbats there as well. I'm just letting you know because we found out today that the owners were willing to let us gamers in earlier than grand opening to playtest cabinets and check console tv's for lag and whatnot.

8. They call that a balanced game when characters have bad and good matchups. As opposed to 'only good' or 'only shitty' matchups. It means Arc did their job correctly.
9. There's an arcade opening up in Brookfield Illinois... Friday night is grand opening, SSFIV and BB players will be there. If you want to try and come out let me know I'll give you more details.

10. Matchup just got worse. Double Gadget beats all of your options besides block or Fenrir. Enjoy.
11. Double Gadget messes Noel up good. 2D gets gadgeted, 4D gets pulled back into range, Backdash gets pulled back into range, jump gets gadgeted, Reversal super however does not.
12. I'd have to guess GF RC as they fall time 5C so it hits them as they land, but since they are stuck in the GF animation they are counted as 'grounded' therefore you can special cancel to Gadget Finger again. But, they can't get caught by it because they are standing. Hmm...Then again I have personally caught someone in the middle of a tech roll with Gadget Finger. So I'm not sure if it's just glitchy or it actually can catch a crouching opponent or something like that on wakeup.
13. If he's doing a tech trap with collider just airdash backwards j.2DD. Just get the health lead and start turtling with 5D Gravity and blah swords. 3C is actually a very good normal against Tager from midscreen.
14. Wait for Bang to jump cancel a move and knock him out of the air with a basic combo and then pressure him. Seems to be the best choice of action.
15. Derp. Get some hype. Hopefully people find this thread.
16. If you want to know how to beat Tager, it's kinda simple. Bait and punish.

17. Good trolling yesterday. Good trolling.

18. 5D cleanly loses to Sledge. (Or 360A) See where this is going?
19. 4D trades counterhit with it. We get our combo. You don't get yours.
20. Let's give him unblockables too if we wanna make him AC Potemkin.
21. So you do what Tager does to a pre-50 heat Ragna. MTW clash XYH. 360B.
22. So the matchup is pretending you can zone him out? The only good thing in this matchup is that Noel can actually j.D through all of Tager's tech traps.
23. Ragna can bait your backdash on the way down from the RC. Ragna's mixup is really good in the corner after abortion punch. Then again if you IB 5D and try to punish, what if he cancels to Gauntlet Hades instead of dash canceling for more pressure? MINDGAMES.
