  1. CT Tager - About 6 months (starting from console release) to stop doing super stupid stuff all the time. Hovered at (below?) average skill up to the release of CS. First serious fighter. CS Tager - Less than a day to learn not to drop new combos. A week to get decent. Still, always looking to improve. CS Mu - A couple weeks for basics + zoning. Her combos just really clicked with me for some reason. Except 6A>6B juggle Still learning otherwise Proficient but by no means good. Not yet anyways.
  2. Could be wrong but it's been awhile since there was a real DS game. Ratings and views on ratings have kind of shifted over the years I suppose. Last one I remember is some PSP port/something a few years back. Course I've never played any games in the series so Also assuming Cross Edge didn't feature Jedah. EDIT: Oh dear I didn't think Jedah was that bloody... bloody. Wow.
  3. Any way you slice it Jill Wesker and Chris are all either from RE1 or RE5 so yeah. I was going to say if anyone says SFI and SFII (Ryu vs Chun) are "different series" I'd punch them in the face but... Megaman is about the only series Capcom has represented right now that has different enough sub-series to make this kind of distinction. I doubt some people make that kind of argument for Dante + Trish or Felicia + Morrigan. The official site even lists just the first game in those two respective series anyways on their character pages. If anything it's strange there are 3 reps for RE (granted 2 not counting DLC) and only 2 for SF and X-Men, arguably the two most major factions of MvC (I dunno, X-Men vs SF was first right?). Not that I'm complaining really. Have they mentioned how ENG/JP voice select will operate? IE: either all one language or can toggle on a character to character basis? IF they're still including both that is, been awhile since I've heard JP voices in the previews. EDIT: I keep forgetting about Magneto when I think X-Men.
  4. Ryu + Chun-Li Wolvie + X-23 + Magneto Dante + Trish Chris + Wesker (+Jill) Doom + Skrull (arguable) Morrigan + Felicia Tron + Zero (arguable) She + Hulk Dormammu + MODOK + Shuma? (No idea, arguable) If you meant MORE than two, sure. I'll admit "I want x character in the game" is getting old but that's being a little juvenile.
  5. Shows how much I know All the better then!
  6. Shuma-Gorath = yay. Chaos Dimension was always my favorite looking super in MvC2, albeit impractical use of meter I guess. Wasn't able to get into MAHVEL 2 due to multiple reasons (sucking, no competition, sucking) but 3 is looking nice now. Hopefully running Zero / Shuma / ???. Ammy Jill or Doom perhaps. I dunno.
  7. To your post in the locked hatemail thread in BB general: plugging がっかり (gakkari) into Google got me "disappointed." Take that as you will, maybe to the context of "so close."

  8. Side note: I believe this was you: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OXUiE0eQ2fU Why so godlike Hakumen :vbang:

  9. In some matchups (Makoto off the top of my head) I use raw SoD as AA. It's certainly better when they are pinned by, say, 236D and the payoff isn't huge unless you score a lv 2 or 3 FC other than setting up more steins. Only problem is that it's at worst (lv 1) -10? on block. I have a video of me semi-trolling Ragna with it but I don't recommend it vs him or Haku especially. Pretty punishable on whiff as well. Basically what Zeromus said. It's probably better (safer) to just 6A, j.C, or 2C though.
  10. Yeah on reviewing I don't know why I advertised myself as being patient. Blocked a lot but not always well. Close match =/= better. Just means I screwed up and got away with it. You could watch an earlier video for comparison but I don't think I'd ask anyone to watch anything worse than what I already posted. Forgot to neutral tech at first due to not remembering this matchup. I tend to fish for 5C AC more often than this also. That aside I appreciate the Lambda advice. Not knowing what to do (punishing backdash, baiting DP) means I can't practice it.
  11. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-TGVq0LCwJk 0:00 - 3:23 -- vs Rachel 9:47 - 14:00 -- vs Lambda Wanted a little feedback since I've kind of gotten a bit more patient in my playstyle, though it probably doesn't seem that way with so many unpunished BSledges. Stuff I know (too many bullet points): -I know I do 5C > 6C a lot, even on block/non CH. I tend to get CH 5C a lot so I fall into autopilot mode I guess. -j.2C like 50% of the time I tech in the air = facepalm. -Odd Sledge use vs Rachel was attempt at yomi punishing Lobelias. Except I suck at it. -Dumbass moment at 1:23. Should've confirmed 6C into Collider, instead wasted a Spark and let Rachel out of the corner. -I love my wakeup MTWs and MTW RC gimmicks. -2:11 Missed a good combo opportunity off of j.D CH. At least made up for it a second later. -Throw techs. Yeah. -2:50 Dropped 5C CH combo. -(Lambda) Need to punish Act Parsers on reaction. I usually just use Mu for this matchup though, that's my (bad) excuse. -Shouldn't have tried whiff MTW > Terabreak. Desperation moment. -Back roll in the corner -Not really a complaint but where the hell did all that meter come from in Lambda round 2? -Lets just say I'm trolling at the end of round 3 instead of doing completely dumb things with my meter for no reason. Why would I do that? Many of the dumb habits I fall into in these matches can also be somewhat explained by my playing a lot of matches with certain Rachel/Lambda players and being used to -their- habits.
  12. I had no idea what the hell I was doing but Rachel seems kind of fun :v: Just always forgetting about HEY NEED WIND FOR 5CC

  13. Did more experimenting with FC lv2 SoD, found some rather appealing followups from pretty much anywhere onscreen, though there are quite a few annoying factors for this already too situational Fatal. A video to go with this I chose Lambda as dummy for no reason other than it works on her. And yes I use a pad Midscreen version: From midscreen you can followup with dash-in 2B but the timing is extremely tight. Certain characters make landing that 2B even more difficult, if not impossible at some ranges. For sake of shorthand, "match start distance" is what I refer to as a range where 2C whiffs (ignore Tager) but SoD hits. -From about match starting distance this hits: Ragna Jin Noel Tager Litchi Taokaka Lambda Mu Makoto -A step closer than above is required for: Bang Arakune Hazama Tsubaki -Almost point blank (don't bother): Hakumen -Forget it: Rachel Hitting the FC in the air will likely give you more a little more freedom to land 2B but I wasn't able to accurately test this. Personally I had more issues landing the j.B than the dash 2B, though. Midscreen: FC SoD (Lv2) > dash 2B > 5C > 6C > 5D > j.B > j.C > j.2C > dash 2B > 5C > 6C > [steins/whatever] [3553 DMG / 28 Heat] *Misc note: did this badly in recording after 2nd 6C but I tried it last out of all of these, was tired of trying for 30 minutes and thought it was good enough to make a point* Midscreen to Corner: Similar to above (with the same character exceptions) but by the 2nd Dash 2B if you are in the corner you can do a couple (extended) corner loop reps. A slight variation is recommended/needed if you want to end with Omohikane (632146C). M to C (no super): FC SoD (Lv2) > dash 2B > 5C > 6C > 5D > j.B > j.C > j.2C > dash > [2B > 6A > 2C > j.C > j.2C] x2 > [whatever] [4287 DMG / 45 Heat] M to C (super): FC SoD (Lv2) > dash 2B > 5C > 6C > 5D > j.B > j.C > j.2C > dash > [2B > 6A > j.C > j.2C] x2 > 2B > Omohikane [5840 / 41 heat before super (need 9 to start)] Corner variation: If the first dash-in 2B hits in the corner you can just do a bunch of corner loop reps for really easy damage. It's possible to do [dash 6B > 6A > etc] instead of dash 2B but you have to be much closer to the corner thus I didn't really experiment with it for these purposes. Corner (no super): FC SoD (Lv2) > dash > [2B > 6A > j.C > j.2C] x3 > 2B > 6A > 2C > j.C > j.2C > [whatever] [4349 DMG / 45 Heat] Corner (super): FC SoD (Lv2) > dash > [2B > 6A > 2C > j.C > j.2C] x3 > 2B > Omohikane [5929 DMG / 42 Heat before super (need 8 to start)] Again I realize, very situational. But pretty nice damage if it happens. Side note: in the corner this works CH 623C > 5A > 6A > j.C > j.2C > [whatever] Someone remind me to stop practicing impractical stuff
  14. Not doing anything at the moment if you want to get a few matches in.

  15. Yep that's Antelope.

  16. A few pages back I posted stuff about FC SoD combos: Ignore the silly lv 1 combos. I wanted to bring up a somewhat obvious point in regard to the lv 2s: since these build good meter you can do 2B > Omohikane after the last rep (ie: at the now-underlined bits, and maybe later in the combo, again didn't experiment too much for pickup combo purposes) for around 6k total damage. I wouldn't have brought it up again except I actually landed a lv 2 FC SoD the other day in a match and just sort of scrambled to do something with it. Air hits give you more time to reach the opponent, I believe. Side note: the combos I listed are still probably not the most optimal but most of them are braindead easy, at least. Of course this is likely to be irrelevant soon anyways with CS II's changes to Mu's j.2C
  17. Wait seriously? Didn't think anyone round here played FYTE GAEMZ, much less BB.

  18. I died a little every time I did Gadget. "Ok Gadget... WAIT SHIT WHY AM I DOIN- *GET BUSTAH'D*" Tager mirrors are the reason I have my subs so I'm always learning on the spot haha.

  19. Son you never said you had yomi :V Need a library card to check this.. book..out. Ok metaphor fell apart. Hilarious that I sucked hardcore with Mu and Lambda haha.

  20. Probably thinking of CH 2C > 4D > 214D
  21. Watched some scrubby dude play Litchi and Noel on YT. Wasn't sold. Watched Mike Z in this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1tHMe35gLNo) admittedly-really-old-now CT match. Tager comebacks + 720 = buy.
  22. My gimmicks aren't getting you as much as they did before... I'm doomed :vbang: Good games as usual heh.

  23. @Grey: Yeah, point blank 6Cs are messed up DPs. Mostly just mashing too hard/not hard enough. @FlyingVe: I -am- way too fond of laser super, I just like doing it with 4 steins out of (bad) habit. All of the super scrubby things (mash DP, random super) were mostly because I'd lost like 7 or 8 full matches in a row so I was VERY off what little game I had. Bad habits make me do [6C > xD > 214D] instead of [6C > 214D] when the chance presents itself. Only stein patterns I've done with any regularity are [5D>6D>236D] and, on Tager, [5D>4D>214D]. Never think I have enough time to fire off a good shot. On a side note I don't know WHY I did that DP after randomsuper. Like I said, losing streak nerves taking over I guess. @Silfer: Axis certainly taught me how unsafe my Cs were, to the point where I started IADing backwards from 2C (which now that I think of it leaves me open to Spark). I tried keeping high to the air because most Tagers tend to fire a Spark when they think I should fall, Axis didn't go for that and him not firing a Spark at all during my jumping laser nonsense was both smart (make me play too cautiously, something I'm not yet good at) and also a bit overly cautious (didn't realize he had Spark once or twice, could have hit me for sure). Thanks all for the criticism. Will step up my game a bit before I try for review again I would also like to add that nobody ever blocks 6B and I find that hilarious
  24. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gkq7a6n50CU - Vs Tager (Axis)x2 and Lambda http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4GhFrHh-XMw - Just first match, vs Jin Just wanted to see where I'm at from another perspective. Stuff I already know: -Mash DP much much much less. -j.2C on block vs Axis (and Jin I think) was very very bad, it's a wonder it worked, much less went unpunished sometimes. -Dropping combos, especially CH j.C and (not sure I landed any in these but) CH 2C. -Minor thing but I favor laser super a lot... and then don't really finish it all that great (j.C > j.2C > steins). -Worst thing: I rush that shit down more often and more predictably than I ever really should. You can probably count the number of times I -don't- approach with dash (6B / 2B / j.C) on one hand. -Too complacent (and not methodical) with fullscreen stein spam. Axis could have sparked me quite a few times I think. ...So yeah EDIT: another thing: I'm not really applying any Tager-specific stuff. Bunch of reasons (tourney nerves, not practicing) but mostly just haven't made time to commit to more than general things for Mu.
  25. GG earlier, always nice to see Mu from a perspective that isn't my (combo dropping, dp-mashing, predictable) own :v:
