Sub Zero all the way: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m9qUn4NyP44 Here's hoping the game turns out to be great,
-
In this match you don't really Drive spam that much, especielly when she has 50+ Heat. It's more about learning to punish her stuff up close. Which ones? And when she gets close to you, mostly just wait for her horrible mix-up and punish or go on the offensive yourself. Slightly annoying that both that and 214D~B doesn't work, but just do 214D~D, 5C, bnb or 214D~C, bnb. Spam it and do some fake-outs until she gets 50+ Heat. But this is not really a fight you can win by Drive spamming. Also be mindful of what BS her j.2C can result in (clashes with a lot, like your 214D~B, for example).
-
Biggest thing is that he can get in on her so quickly, stopping her from throwing out her stuff. There's a bunch of other stuff as well.
-
The key to Hazama's big damage is Jayoku Houtenjin, the sensible thing would be to nerf that move or something. Hazama's other big damage combos are character specific and would be fixed if you nerfed the Drive speed (which was rumoured?) or something.
-
Some changes don't make much sense, like why the stuff with the throw? Or break apart his current combos? That isn't what makes Hazama good.
-
It's just loketest at the moment, nothing is set in stone.

Cacpom, King of Trolls. They used Spencer from one of the biggest flops of the century over the one from the PSN/XBL hit. Pure gold.

Some quick thoughts: Try to keep your Drive varied, you tend to always jump up high and do a j.(6)D and let it travel full-screen. Throw out both standing and jumping D's and do some fakeouts by recalling them before they extend to their maximum range. Try practicing on more varied pressure (you do 5B then 3C and then stop, almost always), you do it so much that it's hurting your hit-confirm (like when you hit someone in the air with 5B you follow it up with 3C, which will whiff). Learn where the holes in his pressure are and if he ever throws out moves such as 6C on your block then you can punish him with ease since he can only dash cancel to make it safer. While it's not a good idea to throw out all the time, try doing a few 214D~A, otherwise he can just block low unless you want to risk a 6A or do a slow jump in attack. Likewise, try grabbing and 236C in your pressure more (236C has slightly better reach). On air hit with your Drive, try doing j.D~C, j.C(x1), j.c., j.C(x5), j.214B over your j.D~D, j.B, j.214B. Jin's pressure is actually pretty bad, his only overhead (6A) is very slow and punishable on block while his jump in attacks are also slow (j.B and j.2C), practice on reacting to them, basically just block low while keeping your eyes peeled for anything that doesn't hit low or mid. Also, use barrier and when he's pushed too far away for normal pressure people tend to do something unsafe just to get in to continue pressure, keep your eyes peeled for this. If he tries to ice car to break your primers from far away you can react to it with just throwing out a Drive chain or 214D~B (better). If he does a C icecar close you can snuff it with a 5A or simply avoid it with 2A spam (since it lowers your hitbox, making his C icecar whiff). Icecar B and C is very punishable on block, so learn to IB the last (preferably both) hit and teach him that he really should stop doing that. If you IB the first hit you can do a 236236B, if you are on you last primer and you either fail to IB or a IB 236236B would kill you on the trade, do a Counter Assault. Can go over some more later.

@ SolBroken On Neutral throw on Tager, try: B+C, 6D~A, 6D~A, (6D~A), 623D, 66, 5C (don't cancel the dash into the 5C), j.c, j.Cx5, 2C, 4D~D, j.214B# Solid damage and doesn't depend on pink throws. It's also pretty easy to do. It's very difficult to do. Here's some useful pointers Personally I'd hold off on learning this combo atm, since if they will indeed nerf Hazama's Drive speed with the upcoming patch, this combo will most likely not work anymore, making all the time you spent on learning it useless. If it's still there after the patch then by all means learn it, in the meantime there's tons of other stuff you can learn.
-
Fat characters. Tager, Taokaka, Rachel, Arakune and Hakumen. If you fight a lot of Tagers there are easier combos you can do that still deals tons of damage, that will also (probably) function if they nerf Haz's Drive speed.
-
Just barely, on certain characters. Might not be worth practicing if they're gonna nerf Haz's Drive speed with the upcoming patch (meaning this and a couple of other combos will no longer work, or work as they did before).
-
You can actually do 3x 4D's on most of the cast (gonna check tomorrow if it doesn't work on say, Carl, and I'll edit this post). Also, the "Adjust" part doesn't have to involve any movement on Hazama's part, you can just stand still and get pushed back by the grab until you reach the range at which 4D will cause long hitstun. Edit: Yup, 3x 4D works on everyone. Does 2895 dmg.

Well, Hazama has a j.214B loop vs. Tager aldready

lol whoops. Don't know where I got those numbers from. I'll use "it was late and I was tired" as an excuse Thanks for the correction.

^What Seifuuku said If they do a Hell's Fang they're at -4 on block (if you IB, -8). Gauntlet Hades is -11 (-9 if they TK it). Which leaves you with lots of frames to get out (for example, by spamming 2DDDDD) or punishing. Hell's Fang and Gauntlet Hades can be punished with a 214D~B if you see it coming into a sweet corner combo, with meter you can go for a Fatal CH 236236B. The way you learn IB into Houtenjin is by practicing, a lot. Record common blockstrings and practice.

Arcana Heart 3 - Out Now, Best Fighter Ever
ZhePrime replied to MouseWonder's topic in Misc Fighter Central
Was AH3 only in SD? If so, ArcSys seems to have "solved" the problem and at the same time created another one, if you know what I mean. http://www.gametrailers.com/video/tgs-10-arcana-heart/704765 -
I trust this is the combo you're doing? [5B, 3C, 214D~C, 5Cx1, 2C, 4D~A, 4D~D, j.214B#] If it is then it should do 2826dmg (I'll leave the charged 214D~C out in case you can't do it consistently, so you can check the combos yourself later). If we swap the first 5B for a single hit 5C and do the rest of the combo we'll get 2946dmg. If we instead do 2 hits for each 5C (the one at the start and the one after 214D~C) then we'll get over ~3200dmg (can't recall the exact numbers). 2 hits from 5C pushes the opponent further away than if you simply did a 5C with one hit. People try and remedy this by doing a dash after the 214D~C mid-combo.

Quick thoughts: Be more mindful when using your D's, keep an eye on Tager's Spark meter(!) and space yourself properly. You can bait Sledge. Learn stronger BnB's, doesn't have to be Tager specific but at least try and do [5B/5C, 3C, 214D~C, 5C, jc, j.Cx5, land, 2C, 4D~D, j.214B#] for added heat gain and damage. A decent air-to-air D combo is [j.D~C, j.Cx1, jc, j.Cx5, 214B], not great, but it beats doing [j.D~D, j.B, 214B]. Now, I'm off to bed.

236236B, 6D~A, 6D~A, 623D, dash, 5C (don't cancel it into the dash), jc, j.Cx5, land, 2C, 4D~D, j.214B# ~5800 dmg, Tager only Haven't tried a FC version yet, but you should be able to break 6k easily with some tweaks to it.

Valkenhayn will be released on the 21st of September (at least for PSN, but 360 owners will probably be able to download him on the 22nd). Translated with ImTranslator: Valkenhayn=R=Hellsing, perso second in DLC of Blazblue: Continuum Shift, will arrive September 21st on Japanese PlayStation Store, at already announced price there is a while (about 8€). Information comes from a planning PlayStation Network of Sony, but they can probably bank on upon an exit in the same waters on the market of Xbox Live. http://www.gamekult.com/articles/A0000087311/

I'll split my response into 2 posts, one for each person. I'm saying that Hazama will not always have 50% Heat or even 100% for that matter, which is accurate. Assuming he will always have 50% heat in a match? Okay? 236C can easily be avoided (and is usually done so unintentionally) due to its short range. And 214D~B still won't stop a ton of stuff that normal DP's can and it also has an additional window of vulnerability. As I've been saying up until now, In your opinion sure. Strange how suddenly everyone flared up after some pretty random tierlist popped up. Some of you are not trying to justify his position on that list, but literally trying to tell everyone else that Hazama is our new god. It's as if you woke up one morning with the idea in your head that is so unbelieavably good compared to everyone else, that he has no weaknesses etc. A single or even 2 people can't make that call and a forum (and this thread) is meant to discuss the matchups and characters. People are still people. Take it easy. So basically all of his normal move list consists of some of the best pokes in the game? Not trying to offend here, but are you joking? I've followed this thread since around page 100 (and before that I've read select posts). So I have read most of the stuff up till this point. But it is extremely common in a discussion when some people get heated to say "X has already been discussed before, are you [insult]?" When someone makes a statement, a very bold one at that, he or she should expect questions. If they can't answer properly the credibility drops. Answering simple questions shouldn't be this difficult. Or let's say that it had been explained indepth, the normal thing to do is to direct said person there, not flail away on they keyboard (this is probably due to your current ire, so not really your fault per se). So j.B and j.D are his great AtA tools? Meaning a bunch of other character have something worse than this in the AtA department. And really, take it easy. If you can't hold a discussion with someone right now come back later when you've calmed down. And as I said, he's at his best at short and long-range, at mid distance he's not very strong And what was implied was that he's never in harms way, that he never has to enter the fray. An example, if Hakumen has a health lead are you as a Hazama player gone sit there throwing chains at him all day until he gets 8 magatamas and you get negative penalty? You won't get any random hits there unless you fly or dash in (on block and him ready), which is not safe at all. I have done nothing wrong, but what I wrote obviously irritated and angered you, for some reason. If I have done something wrong, by all means pinpoint exactly where I did something wrong and what it was. But you really need to take a little break (a recommendation, not a command) from DL if you can't discuss calmly, it's not good for any of the involved if someone gets angry, it will only boils down into namecalling and who's moter is what in the end, which isn't my style.

Did it slip your mind that he has no reversal without meter? That without meter he can't do squat and on wakeup he doesn't have any solid options, etc.? Stop trying to make Hazama sound like a god while trampling everyone else into the ground. He's a solid character, that's it. Which ones? 2C and 214D~B are solid, 623D is okay. But what are his great GtG or AtA attacks? Hazama will never get pressured? Never get caught in oki? Is that what you're saying? He can't run away and zone all day either unless you like Negative Penalty for some reason.
