  1. I would like to discuss this match up, this is the only one, so far, I'm having trouble with. Distanced ground neutral seems to be in Litchi's favor: being able to low profile under some of his pokes and then combo into good damage is definitely strong. Also, it seems like his ability to pull in from counters on opponent's long distance poke moves is now weaker? I feel like I got away with some 6Bs and 6Cs from near max range that I don't remember being able to as often in older BB's. Throwing staff and going in behind it at a distances feels scary and somewhat useless because it's just giving him something to counter upon your own entry, or something to create a Black Hole with, stopping your approach. Mid-range is where I feel like I get stuck. Haku is either in range to counter everything or at his ideal poke range, which beats out Litchi's range. It also ruins Itsuu with his normal approaches (either his sweep or his jump-in C to Black Hole the Itsuu~A projectile). It's here I'm unsure if I should stay at poking range to stay somewhat safer or if I should go in and force mix-ups and try to hard bait counters/his Hotaru(? whatever his jump kick DP is which is, thankfully, now unsafe on whiff and block). After writing down my thoughts here, I'm feeling I will be better off just going in for the close range mix ups and baits, but I want to hear other's thoughts too.
  2. Oh my god it's that's far/long for traveling? Damn you Google Maps. Ugh, never mind lmao. I'll just not be cheap and go for convenience. Thanks!
  3. To help any fledging Colorado players find people to play with, we have created ourself a sub-group of extrafresh.net: Mile High Burst You can follow, and get in contact with, the group through Twitter: @MileHighBurst We get together weekly every Thursday and Friday and stream on twitch.tv/MileHighBurst. Anyone and everyone is invited to the events!
  4. I'n looking into make this. While flying into PHL Airport is FAR more convenient, flying to either New Castle or Trenton-Mercer via Frontier is literally half the price (AND I have a $40 off gift card). So I was seeing how plausible/implausible it is to get from New Castle/Trenton-Mercer to the venue was. Anyone have information to impart? Thanks!
  5. I played... some Yosuke and multi-character player the other day hahaha. GGs to those two, fun matches. Can't say I enjoy, and thus play, online a lot. Though if you wanna add me for when I do, feel free.
  6. This is not a nice match-up. After playing with our local Yukiko player for a few months now (MiracleKnight), it's more about knowing what Chie (and in-general what the system) can do in very specific situations. This is one match-up that does not gain very often from 5C. Yukiko has a lot of options that blows up the mid-range (5A, 2A, 5C[?]) quicker than Chie can. I've found more success trying to go to full length and getting in with 5A, 2A, which is precisely where you wanna be. Your human normals are faster, if not even, with hers. If you can get a 5C and force a block, as far as I can tell, you're safe on the following dash cancel even on IB; she has nothing that can truly punish it. So look for an R.Action bait or grab after 5C dash cancels, as they are her fastest/safest moves in face-to-face. Chie has the nice ability to R.Action unblockable fires. This is something you'll have to learn on your own, but try to find the good situations to R.Action them. In some situations, it's hard Yukiko to fully punish due to the distance moved, speed, and ground recovery of the move. I have not seen a situation where I am really punished from the air yet. Furthermore, if Yukiko is close enough and you touch her, you have the option to R.Action super cancel into either install or meteors, both are the bane of her existence. Install keeps you close and in her face, and every move of yours should beat hers out, minus R.Action or if she already has a move out. Most likely, you'll actually counter-hit her. So go into your R.Action Install punish (which should be: buffered dash 5C, 236B->236B, Ender; OMB for 5.5K which is HUGE for this fight.) I say your main goal is to land high damage combos. Try not to burst out of combos unless you get fatal'd in corner and the Yukiko knows their ish AND you're going lose the whole match if so. That way, you have OMB combos that take 50%+ life and avoids her Awakening hopefully which isn't a TERRIBLE situation imo. Try to get the Yukiko to burst so that they're free to be combo'd to death. Practice air CH combos too, because it's not always easy to time her R.Action landing on ground for an easy 5B, 2D Fatal. It's possible to do: 5B, 2D, buffer dash, 5B, 5C, j.C, dj.BB, j.8D, 236B->236B, 214C, 236236D though. But if you really need to kill her and/or make her bleed (also it's Burst baitable at the start and easier IMO): 5B, 236236A, dash 5C, 236B->236B, 236D, OMB, 5C, 214C, 236236D for 6.5k; 100SP. You can style on them if you're close enough to corner and buffer another dash 5C, 236B->236B, before the 236D OMB... but it does like 50 more damage. I also decided to mess around with it, you can do two Installs after the 5B CH before going into the combo for 7.5k; 150 SP instead if dire straits are there. If she gets Awakening and she uses her Awakening super (the fire pillars) you have a couple options: Run at Yukiko: best used if she does the pillars raw or doesn't instantly buffer the pillars after a knockdown/burst while you're at the fullest of full screens. If you buffer your run properly, you can outrun the pillars if they're behind. If they're ahead, slide through them and punish/pressure her. Jump block: Safest of all options as it gets you off the floor, and thereby high low mix-ups, and gives you air-dash movement afterward. Once again, only if she doesn't buffer D version (from behind) pillars right after a good knockdown. Block: Forces you into whatever position she wants you. But it's Yukiko, so that may not be so bad :d... Either way, just block and be prepared. If you can get a good R.Action from her using the D version pillars, then destroy the girl for her ignorance. R.Action her 1/2/3D unblockable setups. She HAS to be close to make it work, so your R.Action should at least tap her. INSTALL CANCEL IT if you have the meter because you can also be baited in that situation, and once again it puts you right in her face. Jump cancels are probably one of your better friends for this match-up as her R.Action is so slow you can jump and block before you get nailed, or bait it that way and get a punish. If you jump above her, her 2B fans will miss also. So feel free to play around with that some. This is all I can think of at this time. I still have trouble with the match from time to time too. Once you get in, do your best to stay in, basically. R.Actioning for Awakening meteors is a good option if you're lower on life. Getting in once can be the end of Yukiko, especially with no burst. This is one of the main match-ups I use burst damage instead of defensive (well...I do that in a lot of match-ups, but this one, I glorify it.) ALSO, punish the Persona whenever you can. Yukiko minus Persona = more predictable moves (not necessarily worse, a good Yukiko will use their normals appropriately, still making it somewhat hard for Chie). You can slide through her 5B fans, but you run the risk of doing it too late and getting punished. Try to rule the maximum mid range during her Persona Break periods. Any closer, and her 5A can still wallop Chie and Chie's persona. Hope this helps fill out this thread some.
  7. So I tried the actual combo again and I just was being too slow. The combo posted works fine, but doesn't mention to buffer a dash after the first 5C to hit 5B > 5C afterward. It also allows you to confirm from a bit further from the corner due to that extra dash. Just wanted to fix my face on that.
  8. In my experience and understanding, if you get the install you're doing it too slow. (or really mashing 236236 when you hit the ground, but that's really fast). I try to imagine just doing 236AB236A/B/AB before I hit the ground, and I rarely get the install (I get it more often online, which makes me think that you'd have to be doing it too slow to get install). My personal advice: just get both inputs before you hit the ground, as the second one will just act buffered, and control your inputs well
  9. While impractical, yes, I actually never considered doing the 5B 5C 2B 2C repeats into themselves to get the threat of a Level 2 install. And the good thing about the reset is if it's blocked, you're safe. If you're playing against a masher then obviously you should play around it. I dunno if you can combo into 236A236A (or AB) to make it legit combo then work from that reset. I'd play around with it, but I'm refusing to turn on my 360 until I'm done with my project :P I like the fresh idea though. I'm gonna play around with it at the next gathering here. Thanks
  10. I played around with FC 214C today and was trying this combo: 214C (FC) > 236236A > Dash 5C > 5B > 5C > 2D > Backdash 5Cx4 > 5B > 5C > 236B > 236B > 5C > 5B > 5C > 214C > 236236D (100%@7432) I don't know what it is, but at the "Dash 5C > 5B > 5C" I cannot do it. I'll hit 5C, and no matter how much I delay 5B, I can't get another 5C out before the opponent lands. If I do Dash-In 5C > 5B right away it shortens the tech time way too much and I can't hit with the following 5C. Anyone have any tips or suggestions on that? So in response, I tweaked (simplified) it to: 214C (FC) > 236236A > Dash 5C > Delayed 5B > 2C > 2D > Backdash 5Cx4 > 5B > 5C > 236B > 236B > 5C > 214C > 236236D (100%@7197) Less damage :8/: but a LOT easier to do.
  11. Hella GGs to OMGItzMendoza and more character variety than a box of chocolates on Valentines day. That Naoto did me in for daaays! I need to really study up on that match up, first real good one I've played.
  12. Still looking for people to play 1 on 1 sets with. Gonna sign on here in a minute. I'll see if you're on when I get on.
  13. Anyone looking to play? Now or later, preferably later so I can mash out some homework. I am in Colorado; U.S. southwest. Mains I am looking to play: AIGIS(!!!!!!) Chie(!) Yosuke Elizabeth But I'll play regardless of above list. Just want a good, long, 1 on 1 session (and when that sentence is taken out of context...!)
  14. Now maybe this thread will magic revive with new faces and people :D... ... Yep, Colorado still hates Blaz.
  15. Just wanted to pop by and say hey and all that and it was great meeting those of you that I got to meet. A++++++++++++Would visit again .................... All of Arizona loses a + just for that.
  16. I admit, the tournament was poorly run with should-be easy to fix solutions and expectations of DLC. It did run kind of slow, started extremely late, and we only got maybe an hour and a half to two hours on stream. Not even good prize money either for the entrants and furthermore that checks will be received in 30 business days? Geez... Still, despite all that, I'm super glad I came. Having 50-ish people sign up? I was lucky to even get get 8 people on a 5 dollar side tournament out of pity. This was super exciting to me despite the many flaws. And I guess I was more on vacation, so I probably have a more positive outlook as it gave me plenty of time to hang out, get drunk, and be hella belligerent on Saturday night (which, yet again, I apologize for that hahaha!) I hope for another chance to come out there if I'm welcome BlazBlue players are only a two hour flight away? I'd be willing to take every now and then. Hahaha, and thanks Tony. I'm surprised you still check Dustloop for anything ever . Hope you're well, and feel free to PM me for random chat. <3
  17. Alright, I sent that number your way Zoog. Hope to catch y'all soon
  18. It's an anime convention over Memorial Day weekend: http://animazement.org/ Since I visit NC pretty often, I've gone a couple of times. The gameroom is surprisingly sick (the only part I really care about any con lol). Many cab fighters and other console fighters. Looks like Blaz is gonna be a no show though =/ or at least short and nearly irrelevant. And ooh! Keep me updated Zoog. Mind if I shoot you a number to text me with so I know what's going on? My aunt doesn't exactly have a (good) computer/internet set-up.
  19. 'Lo there! I'm gonna be in NC next week. I'll be in Greensboro from Wed May 25th to late Sat 28th or early Sun 29th. I plan to attend AniMazement on Sunday with a friend, but she's gonna be drawing and shit. So if anyone is attending that on Sunday, that'd be tight. If we don't go to the beach after, I'll be in Raleigh til Wed June 1st if anyone is around there (I assume I'll have some hours to spare). Hit me up and I'll be checking the thread. I'll play anything, but I'm only good at BB. EDIT: Read through the latest page. If you run corner tournaments, save some for Sunday (Of course, do what your heart desires!) And man Zoog, I haven't played you since CT/ way early CS. Lol. Well if you're Gboro, would be awesome to get some matches in, along with whoever else is around. :D
  20. Truth buddy! Truth! Happy New Year all!
  21. Personally, I think the biggest worry is getting OUT of the drives. You can get your damage later while she's not in a position to get hers (like the rest of the positions on the screen lol). Plus, that's damage that's racking up still for every drive you block and/or predict. Otherwise, jabbing or your meatiest move would bet if you wanna really beat it. Most Noels (the few, and varying quality) claim they run out of invincibility before the actual attack comes out. Going off that assumption, as bad as doing that it is, If you know they're gonna do a grounded move, I'd figure a block -> pre-inputed 5C [m] would work fine for most situations, but would probably trade or be countered on the overhead one. On that, probably best place for jabs to come in. I don't think 3C would have the speed and AA hurtboxes to stay safe. /theory fighter Still, that's more of a riskier guessing game just to get damage. I'd rather stick to block -> DP. As long as they don't rapid their drives (can they?) I think that's just a free hit. Also, important question: Should I just call you Daigo now with all them psychic DPs?
  22. Lmao goddamnit ATG. AT LEAST make it worth your while and ride the damn camels!
  23. Hell I even posted in the other thread, soon after he did, about the next EFL tournament. Big missed hint there
  24. LMFAO SHUT UP! YOU STILL GOT HIT BY IT AND THE PROCEEDING COMBO! Thanks for the many games LK. and the many many MANY MANY games GreyFox (god, like 4-5 hours of straight play, seriously.) I feel like I picked up a lot (of OTHER things) that I can probably prepare in time for February tournament, and just in Litchi life in general. Thanks a lot again guys. You're wondertastical! Beginning of match IAD -> Gold Burst. Confirmed combo.
