wait, was this in response to me? Im talking about the affects of the burst (not color) depending on offense defense. Color changes with barrier, yeah. Thats why i mentioned offensive gold bursts instantly breaking libra. But the green offensive doesnt break instantly, but does some libra damage, and so on for blue. Offensive/Defensive has no influence on color except in CS, but it sure as hell makes a difference in the burst's properties. i guess what i was saying was lazily worded though D:

nuh uhhhhhh you cant combo for good damage off of a defensive burst, which is done during blockstun or while getting hit, and it does no libra / barrier damage. Offensive bursts are any time you arent in blockstun or hitstun / wakeup - recovery. You can combo off these for solid damage, they do libra damage depending on how much barrier gauge is left. It also is much slower. Gold bursts break libra instantly, or deplete barrier gauge if its barrier'd

It had to be an attempt to tech, a roll. Because thats the only way it can kill, you cannot kill from a burst. Anyways, that had to be defensive burst regardless. it does piss poor (extremely so, like, hundreds of damage) damage when combo'd from, even when gold. So now we go onto offensive and defensive bursts. If i need to tell you about any of this, it just means you have to learn basic system mechanics in bb.
