Well, the I figured out the reason that works so well. When you release armor lock, you are vulnerable, but you are still in the lock animation. So effectively, you have to guess when y=they are gonna release it. It's kinda stupid. Quite frankly, both Armor lock and Hologram (my favorite) are a bit OP.
