  1. Maybe Hakumen was your character all along. Look at those counters.
  2. That is what I was thinking.
  3. Wait so. Arakune is your sub? I thought he was your main.
  4. Oh right you are at home. That means we can use...
  5. nooooooooo I was expecting to get bees. I guess it's all the same to Hakumen though. @SWD: does spectating cause lag? I always feel like it does. In any case, let's play and see if it is not laggy today.
  6. We should play a FT10. Assuming our connection is not terribly laggy.
  7. greatest disappointment of the year
  8. has science gone too far
  9. this sounds oddly familiar...
  10. I'll have to try it in training mode, but that "non-perfect" Hotaru just looks like they were TKing it slow.
  11. It was pretty terrible for a while though, with everyone. PSN, how does it work.
  12. You mean me? I am done for the night. I didn't do anything... it just somehow got better. Might be more of a person to person thing than just my connection. Or it could be the time of day we played.
  13. We could with the 50 20 second wins I was planning.
  14. We could have played our set.
  15. Pretty much every Lambda does 4D (blocked) > 4B.
  16. Hazama can run it back way easier because of his meter and damage. The reversals Hakumen gets, his counters and Hotaru, don't offer nearly that much damage. Hakumen has more individual options (6D, 2D, Hotaru) but Hazama hits a lot harder when he gets you. His character encourages mashing from the huge rewards he gets (just in general). That is all I am trying to say.
  17. You forget that I pretty much agree with everything Lich said, he is just couching it in different terms. I said you can't be afraid, that doesn't mean just mash anything all over the place. I said that because the entire reason I was having a hard time this time against Nemesis on wakeup, is that I was backing off too much for fear of his DP, and letting him get out. Somehow Lich took that to mean "ALWAYS MASH YOUR FACE AGAINST THEM EVERY TIME."
  18. Then we can start the OD train.
  19. I think I saw you trying for 720 a few times and getting caught out of it before you could finish. At least during my Renkas. you need to go back and play CT
  20. Also I totally get the mindset of playing it by the book, because you don't want to give them free damage. But in those matchups where they can kill you so easily, the way I look at it, you are bound to make a mistake sometime, and the odds are so in their favor, the only way to win is to shake them out of their comfort zone. Like Nu, everything she had beat Hakumen's, even her up close game was better than his. When you play it straight then you are just letting them use their superior tools against you (unless they just straight up play bad). So you have to put them in situations where they can't use their superior advantages as easily.
  21. That was just one example. You can use it against pressure just as well. It's like Tao's 2A, why guess with a counter when you can just straight out beat a ton of stuff? It doesn't need to be on wakeup, it's still great. Plus like Lich said, he has all that damage off every little thing. Hakumen has a ton of off stuff too but it's funny to me that you always complain about him, Lich, when Haz is worse. I guess we are all blind to our own character's faults. It reminds me of when ArcadeFire would complain about Nu's matchup against Arakune.
  22. Nemesis, why don't you tell us what you think. Do you have more trouble against me when I am more passive, or not?
  23. I didn't say they're not worth it, but it's way more of a call out to use his counters than Haz 2A, are you kidding. 2A is still an attack; if I decide to just block on your wakeup, now I'm in pressure. You do that to me, I am sitting there like a retard and going to eat a huge combo. His 2A is also one of the fastest, has a great hitbox and with iB you can pretty much punish a ton of blockstrings. You don't need to guess between throws, highs or lows either. But yeah, part of the reason I like to use counters is because they help condition the opponent. (But so does a lot of other stuff.) It is also the only way out in certain situations. For instance, sometimes just blocking a move means you are in trouble now, and a counter is the only way to push your advantage. Really it just boils down to personal preference, not strategy though. I mean, they keep nerfing it every game, if I was using them purely because of how great they were then I would just block all the time. I just enjoy making it a RPS game.
  24. Hakumen's counters are rolling the dice for like 2k, going to eat a punish if you mess up. Hazama, mash 2A, mash anything into huge combo because he always has meter, then build it all up during that combo and start the whole thing over again. He doesn't need a good backdash. Hakumen's normals are great don't get me wrong, but it's like S tier with Hazama.
