Ah, there we go. So did what Zeromux_X said, and got her from the PS Store website, then I closed Revelator and restarted my PS4, and she unlocked. I tried just closing and re-opening Revelator, but she didn't unlock until I restarted the system. Thanks for the help.

Any word on this? I've seen some people playing as her, but she doesn't show up in the store, or in Gallery mode. (PS4, btw)

- Slayer can mix it up between short and long dash. It's not useless, especially when the difference between the two mixes up whether you cross up Axl, or whether you're in or out of throw range. If the Axl player is constantly throwing out hitboxes to tag you, punish that - the whole chain is a hurtbox. - Slayers should know/learn the range to Dandy->punish both 2H and Rensen. The Slayer I play against often does it all the time. Axl has to YRC to make it safe against BD->Dandy and whatnot at certain ranges - he has to commit to covering either air or ground, or spend meter. 2H especially has quite the recovery. - If you're struggling against the 8/9 follow up for Rensen, go into training, and practice the timings and range to jump over the follow up and punish it. When you jump over Rensen, it should be a mixup on whether he does the follow up or doesn't. - Axl's 5P whiffs against Slayer's 2D, so if they get predictable, you can always do that to avoid being frustrated. Or you could just crouch, and whiff punish with Mappa or just get close and mix-up on him, or use 6P. The thing the Slayer I play against finds most aggravating is how many of Axl's moves have hitboxes slightly behind Axl. It's more of an amusing/minor thing, but you should still keep it in mind when crossing up Axl and punishing his stuff.

Mikado stream today had a bunch of Jack-O' vs top-level opponents: http://www.twitch.tv/joniosan/v/17200961 2:09:22-2:11:20 - Nyowa (15) vs kmd's Sin (7) 2:24:43-2:27:28 - Kachi (11) vs Mephisto's Millia (8) 2:27:56-2:30:20 - Kachi (11) vs Koichi's I-No (18) 5:09:43-5:13:14 - Kachi (11) vs Jonio's Johnny (19) 5:17:48-5:20:27 - Kachi (11) vs Hase's Slayer (20) 5:26:03-5:29:36 - Kachi (11) vs Hase's Slayer (20) 5:33:25-5:36:49 - Kachi (11->12) vs Hase's Slayer (20) 5:37:27-5:41:14 - Kachi (12) vs Hase's Slayer (20)

As of today, the top 5 ranked Jack-O's are: Dei (20)Metro (20)Sharon (20)Tsujikawa (19)BLE (18)Full Rankings and Info as of 2015.09.22: (apologies for any mistakes the names - my Japanese kinda sucks) EDIT: The top 5 tier list is more just for fun and interest than being serious. Axl was bottom by a lot, though, but it reflects more of a combination of win rate and usage.

What I find really interesting is that he considers Ramlethal a (slightly) bad matchup. It didn't seem that way in the Ram vs. Jack-O' matches I'd seen.
-
Ah, I figured it was something like that - thanks! I'll be compiling a bunch of the Jack-O' footage and uploading that for everyone here, since the Twitch VoDs now go away after 2 weeks (I think?).
-
I'm pretty comfortable with command lines. That said, I must be missing something, because Livestreamer doesn't seem to have any download functionality. It just plays the stream through your media player.
-
Haha. The reason Ramlethal struggles in a lot of matchups is because her neutral is now kinda weak. But Ram's oki is still fantastic, and Jack-O's defensive options are really bad in that situation. In the huge vid post I made that you're referring to, there're even more Ramlethal matches if you're interested around that timestamp. But I highly recommend everyone watch the vid - so many amazing matches (and not just Jack-O', either). EDIT: If anyone knows a good way to download Twitch streams, please let me know. I want to compile all those matches together before the past broadcast gets lost.
-
That's certainly true. I haven't seen anyone throw Chipp out of his DP, so I'd forgotten about that - good point. But it does seem extremely weak in situations like Sol/Zato command grabs during block pressure. I can't wait to play around with it, though.

Jonio's Mikado stream for today: http://www.twitch.tv/joniosan/v/16427078 There's A LOT of TORI's excellent Jack-O' today, so I'm gonna try something a bit different with the timestamps, lol. I had planned to download the matches with TwitchDown and compile them together, but I kept running into desynced audio issues, so I had to give up on TwitchDown. If anyone knows a good Twitch downloader, let me know TORI vs Jonio's Johnny 1:41:57-1:47:16 1:47:45-1:54:34 1:55:03-1:59:58 2:05:34-2:11:03 2:11:37-2:15:30 2:16:13-2:19:25 2:24:19-2:28:26 2:44:42-2:50:59 This is a great set of matches. TORI is getting really good at managing his ghosts and their health, and exploding the servants for pressure. When Jack-O's getting chased down with no ghosts out, it looks pretty rough. But if you can get Johnny in the corner with ghosts out, he has almost no options, lol. Getting the timing of your servants hits down for block pressure looks pretty important. Also, at about one point Jack-O' just crouches in the middle of some ghosts, and she's practically invisible, lol. You know exactly where she is, obviously, but it's just funny to see Johnny alone on the stage whacking random servants. TORI vs TA60's Potemkin 2:28:54-2:35:16 3:25:07-3:29:34 3:33:21-3:36:24 3:41:50-3:45:04 Throwing boxes looks real bad vs Pot - he can just flick them for free. The counterplay between Servants+AF vs Pot's Slidehead+Flick is really interesting. TORI vs Suke's Elphelt 3:02:27-3:05:25 3:20:40-3:24:44 You can see the super fraudulent "4D~8, FED" that abuses the FED height glitch. TORI vs ? Ramlethal 3:06:08-3:09:47 At one point, the Ramlethal does her beam overdrive right into Aigis Field for some reason. Aigis Field seems real good (as usual), but it looks like it's tough to get out when Ramlethal's going in on you. TORI vs Ramzu's Millia 3:36:52-3:41:04 2D is REAL bad against Millia's oki. Kaeru vs ? Zato-01 4:10:51-4:14:01 TORI vs Kyo's Elphelt 4:35:26-4:38:15 TORI vs Sin 5:54:08-5:58:01 5:58:29-6:03:57 TORI vs Karinchu's Johnny 6:04:27-6:07:47 6:32:14-6:35:19 I can't believe Karinchu's rank 22, already, damn. It's no wonder though, if you watch the rest of the stream. He just goes on a wrecking crew through everyone (except Nage, lol). Let me know if I missed anything, or messed up any of the timestamps.

Jonio's Mikado stream for today: 6:25:56 - Umecha vs Nage's Faust Pretty good match. Calvados can be YRC'd and still get the projectile, which is cool. At 6:28:56, 6K beats Faust's aerial, which is weird. 6:42:54 - Umecha vs Nage's Faust Some more good examples of the counter-play Nage's developed against Jack-O'. Faust seems to have an easy time killing ghosts while pressuring. Faust can low-profile j.H.
-
But that's only from knockdown, though. Every other DP in the game is full invul, so I feel like it might just be a typo. The closest thing is Pot's Trishula, which is only above knee, but that's a pretty special case and not really a reversal. Your opponent having 9-14 frames to throw you out of your reversal in tick throw situations and neutral is a pretty huge weakness.
-
Does that mean it's not throw invulnerable? Do you know what frame it's airborne on? 2D being throwable on startup would really suck.

Jonio's Mikado stream for today: http://www.twitch.tv/joniosan/v/15479394. Today has, like, two straight hours of Johnny dittoes, lol. Not really any Jack-O', just some interesting stuff in training mode, which is the only reason I posted it. 28:40 - Nyowa in sparring (practice) mode goes over a couple of cool things, like: (j.S, j.K, c.S, 5H, jc, IAD, j.P)x2, 3H 2D, RC, 3H to crossup, c.S(?), etc... Mid-combo Ghost placement in the corner 6D corner combos and setups There's a Jack-O' match later on (1:00:51), but it's pretty awful. Unless you want to see Jonio 5H/6H thirteen times in a row, lol. Going forward, I'm only going to post interesting Jack-O' matches, rather than just all of them.

I feel like it's fine to discuss matchups at this point, as long as you're using concrete examples rather than just generalizations, and that you're taking everything with a huge grain of salt. It's interesting and fun to talk about, but everything's fairly early. If anyone finds any notes from Japanese players trying stuff out from Jack-O', I think that'd be fairly interesting, and worth discussing. Axl has several moves (like Rensen and 5H) that hit slightly behind him. If he's on top of a box, he can destroy it while throwing out some pressure (though he'd have to be careful the Jack-O' doesn't just IAD over his Rensen, for example). Other players (like Nage) have simply IAD'd backwards to kill the box and let Jack-O' wake up, or gone for shorter pressure strings before backing off to deal with the servants. Many of the good Japanese players I've seen (at least out of Mikado) have started to prioritize killing the ghosts, rather than going in on Jack-O' with ghosts still out. For characters like Ky, Venom, and Zato, who have more lengthy block pressure, it's essential to get those out of the way, in case the Jack-O' manages to block for a couple of seconds and gets saved by her servants. Killing the ghosts is a lot like opening chests in M.O.M. mode - especially how you only get 1 hit if you do multiple hits in too short of an interval. Even the size is similar, but videos suggest the ghosts have a larger hurtbox than the M.O.M. chests. Another Jack-O' thing from M.O.M. mode is Aigis Field, which was an item you could use. It looks a bit different, but I believe it functions similarly. So if you want to mess around with similar things, you can do it right now in normal Xrd - I wouldn't be surprised if the mechanics are fairly similar.

Jonio's Mikado stream for today: http://www.twitch.tv/joniosan/v/15315538 6:07:09 - TORI vs Maruhan's Sol (TORI does a really good job maintaining the health of his ghosts) 6:10:14 - Kaeso vs En's Slayer (Kaeru? Kaero? I can't tell which character it is when the text is that small, but En demolishes them anyway. The commentator even starts talking about Mario Maker midway through, lol) 6:15:26 - comic LeO vs Konsome's Potemkin (Konsome does a great job just patiently blocking servants until he can Flick out of it - servants aren't enough on their own, you have to back them up with your own pressure. Also, Calvados comboes into Calvados, I guess, lol) 6:24:31 - TORI vs Zato-01 (rank 17 Zato? Is it Ogawa?)
-
Seems like Koichi has more or less gone back to I-No, but TORI has been playing quite well, including that all-kill on Nakamura/FAB/Nage last week.

Here's an example of the FED height glitch that's being patched out: http://www.twitch.tv/joniosan/v/15174547?t=3h52m9s

Jonio's Mikado stream for today: http://www.twitch.tv/joniosan/v/15174547 (today kind of sucks for jack-O' matches, btw) 3:44:02 - ? vs Kimun's Ky (pretty lame match, honestly) 3:51:33 - ? vs Venom (example of the FED height glitch that's getting patched out with Jam's release) 3:55:28 - ? vs ? in Jack-O' mirrors (kinda just spammy, lol, though there's a good example of making j.2D safe with servants out to approach at the end) 4:01:50 - ? vs Venom (Aigis Field is great against Venom, but needs to be used sparingly since the cooldown is so long - the Venom can just patiently wait it out) 4:09:47 - ? vs ? in Jack-O' mirrors (more spammy Jack-O' mirror matches, lol)

Jonio's Mikado stream for today: http://www.twitch.tv/joniosan/v/15022113 00:00 - Nyowa vs Slayer (good example of using servant pressure to re-place and heal your ghosts) (they play a couple matches in a row) 1:45:20 - Nyowa vs May (getting hit at any point while holding a box counts as counter hit, I think) (they play a couple matches in a row) 1:58:22 - Nyowa vs Chipp 2:03:07 - Nyowa vs May (same May from before) 4:58:10 - TORI vs Leo (it looks like TORI's gotten way better at the matchup, Leo doesn't seem to have any good options on wakeup if there're servants out, and Zest is cross-up indifferent) 5:00:20 - TORI vs Kasutera's Zato-01 (Aigis Field wrecks Eddie, but you have to watch for shark out of drill, etc.) 5:04:11 - TORI vs Millia

I can see Sparrowhawk being a bit frustrating for Jack-O' (Axl main here), but I'm with Rurouni. "Just-Block -> 2P/5P" should be able to handle it the same way other characters do, but it'll take some time to get used to. Axl won't want to use Sparrowhawk into active servants, since he'll probably just get hit out of it. The bad parts of the Axl matchup are (or will be) Rensen ([4]6S), 2H, and 3P.

Potemkin can't flick the servants while they're idle, only when they have a hitbox out (example). To be more specific, he can hit them with flick, obviously. But they won't actually trigger flick unless they're hitting Potemkin at that moment. It looks pretty tough for a Potemkin player to do consistently. If boxes clash with a projectile while being thrown, they stick around but take 1 hit worth of damage (example). 5H counts as airborne. In the example, she doesn't get hit by Slidehead at the tail-end of 5H's animation.

TORI's Jack-O' is tearing it up in Jonio's Mikado stream for today: http://www.twitch.tv/joniosan/v/14194448 5:22:13 - Koichi vs TORI in Jack-O' mirror match (the mirror looks stupid, lol~) 5:49:27 - TORI vs Potemkin (doesn't seem like Potemkin can flick the servants while they're out normally, but if he catches them hitting him, he gets the fireball) 6:03:41 - TORI vs Karinchu's Johnny (good match, but Karinchu's rank 15 already? damn, son) 6:11:39 - TORI vs Rion's Ky (3H goes under S-Stun Edge, if boxes clash with a projectile while being thrown, they take 1 hit worth of damage) 6:15:14 - TORI vs FAB's Potemkin (crossup J.D, J.2D looks really good) (they play a couple of matches in a row)

At 4:01:30 in the match between ComicLEO and Jonio, ComicLEO triggers the explosion countdown, retrieves the ghosts, and then re-places the ghosts. If you retrieve during the countdown, the ghosts lose the countdown, and you can re-place them while all the servants still countdown and explode. This looks like a cute trick for forcing the opponent to block while you place across the screen.
