GRAMMATICAL ERROR DETECTED.
-
I was planning on picking up C-W.Len, but now all of a sudden I have the urge to pick up F-W.Len as well. I wonder what that's all about?
-
Sounds good. I'll bring Extend just in case, though.
-
So I noticed. Are you still good for Mario Party casuals tomorrow?
-
But you know it would be awesome if you didn't need heat. @C0R: I'll try it with 236D, thanks.
-
I tested it on a crouching opponent set to block everything, and the rising jA was hitting the hitbox of the opponent in a fuzzy (their animation was crouching, but the marker indicating where they hit was far above the crouching hitbox). Like you said earlier, regardless of it working or not, it isn't an instant overhead so it is not as effective as it could be. Also the falling jC -> rising jC fuzzy works, but won't lead to a combo without Rapid Canceling the second jC. When I tried it (meterless), both 6D and 2D did not allow for enough time for you to recover from the rising jC and continue the combo, and an air D move would not combo either.
-
You sure? It was working fine for me. Either way, you're probably right about the rising jC, which would be better to use anyway.
-
Well, it's not exactly an instant overhead per se (I should have used different wording the first time around, sorry about that), but it still acts as a fuzzy and the jB will hit overhead soon after (but still most likely in time to react to). It's a good way to extend pressure after a blocked 3C if you cover your jump with Ignis and allows you to go for more mixup afterwards. I will see if I can find a true instant overhead with a similar fuzzy setup as this one.

Speaking of recording equipment, what would be ideal for recording playthroughs with voice commentary (while still having the option of having the commentary recorded both during the playthrough or afterwards separately). I'd like to record some playthroughs of some N64 (and other) games in the future. I know where I can find info on the software, but I'm just not sure what hardware would be ideal. Would getting the same kind as Luna be good? ALSO LUMIN, YOU BETTER NOT FORGET YOUR CAMERA ON MONDAY. EVERYONE'S COUNTING ON YOU TO RECORD MARIO PARTY.

After testing the fuzzy/instant overhead combo, I confirmed that it does indeed work. Here it is: jC (as low to the ground as possible) -> 6D -> rising jA -> jB -> 5B -> combo of choice In order to make this work properly, you must land the jA before the 6D connects, so you must activate the 6D while you are in the jumping frames. Also you must hold the jA for just enough hits to make your momentum begin to start carrying you down so the 5B can connect after the jB. I would advise not using a very Ignis-demanding combo after the 5B, since you probably used Ignis before the setup in order to land the falling jC (unless the gauge was full or near-full beforehand, in which case you might try something larger). Using a followup of 3C -> 2D -> 6B -> sjB -> JC -> jB -> jC -> j236C -> j214B does around 2.5k with this setup, but uses a little over half of Ignis' gauge, assuming the bar was full before you used Ignis to set up the falling jC.
-
I've been working on seeing if I can turn a fuzzy setup (jC as low as possible -> rising jA -> jB/jC) into an instant overhead with the use of Ignis. I haven't been able to finish testing it yet, since idk if it will act as a true fuzzy without throwing in a 6D before the jA, but if it does then I think inputting a 2D the second you land might work. I'm going to be gone for a few hours, but I will test it out when I get back unless someone else already does by the time I get back.

Basically Kurushii got the game day 1 and poured a TON of info into all of our existing threads, and I couldn't do anything near that amount of work at the time since I didn't have it yet, so all I could do is sit there and at least help plan future organization. Now that I have the game too, I aim to help with both. Also it would have been upsetting if Kurushii didn't get to be mod after all of the work he put in. He definitely earned it. Skye, why don't you have another Arakune mod yet, since isn't it generally better to have two mods just in case one is gone at some time? Have you considered anyone if you have thought about it?

The unquoted part of Lumin's sig is definitely a reference to Mario Party.
-
You can also throw in a 6C instead of that pause for a bit more damage before the reset. It basically times itself for you so you can just go into your air attack as soon as the recovery on the 236D ends.
-
I am currently looking for a combo even easier than the combo, and it should still be just as practical. It might be a stretch though.
-
If anyone is having trouble with the IAD combos connecting properly, I think I may have found a substitute that does roughly the same damage for the same cost: (midscreen) 5B -> 2B -> 3C -> 6D -> falling jC -> 4D -> sjB -> JC -> jB -> jC -> 236C -> 214B ~3k If you are close enough, you can use 5C(2) instead of 2B to make the damage about 3.3k. The trick to this combo is to do the 6D at the same time you jump cancel the 3C, and then to do the falling jC as low to the ground as possible to ensure that the 4D will combo. Do you mean the new thread or the combos in this one? This thread isn't going to be the combo thread anymore, but just served as one before the game came out just so we had a listing of them. The new one seems fine to me, but any input would still be appreciated.
-
Believe me, I wanted to play KOF and BB too. Even though I would have gotten dumped on in BB, since I only recently got the game. KOF is a different story, though.
-
I forgot that I will be busy tomorrow (I have tickets to a hockey game), so unfortunately I will be missing casuals again.
-
Don't worry guys, it's supposed to look like this.
-
Alright, I will lol.

Congrats to Kurushii, but also thank you for all of the info you have been adding to this subforum. It has been quite helpful. Also I think in the next week or so, we should get matchup threads up so we can start discussing those as well. Has anyone seen a particular style that the other subforums use that works well, or should we just use our own? I personally like how the Valk boards divide up the info, but it could be that I'm just comfortable/familiar with it.

Algol just got confirmed for SCV. Now that he's back, I don't need to take another main. They also confirmed Edge Master from the first SC.

That's okay. I don't need excuses. I can't win them all, but at least I can win most of them.
