  1. I'm pretty sure the definition of a matchup chart implies that it was built around educated opinions. I mean, just because someone can wipe the floor with everyone else using a shitty character doesn't mean that character is any good. That's technically one of the possibilities you get from making a chart based on stats. Question. Do skill ranges still widely vary at high-level play in the states? Disclaimer: I'm not really claiming to be any good at the game, but as far as I can tell, this is what logically might happen if you based tiers on statistics. Not likely on a large scale, but over here, I don't think we have that privilege.
  2. That seems sufficient.. Like I said, my idea is probably too much work for something that would do very little.
  3. You also may want to model them so that they correlate with a certain character so we don't get another one of those incidents where Dacid tells people how to play their own character. Because, y'know... He's been maining the characters we play since '85. But that's probably a bit too much work, and most likely unnecessary given that such occasions would rarely happen. Then again, it would help to know who the experts for specific characters happen to be.
  4. So the question is, when is the individual really correct over the opposing mob? Far as I can recall, it hasn't happened very often.. I mean, that argument about the cat chair, even Uncle Juice and Alzarath were arguing against him, who were the two most qualified people in the thread. Of course, they also gave out the most detailed answers due to that experience. Ok.. Maybe replace 'not very often" with "never".
  5. I can see how this works.. Another factor to consider when trying to figure out how to solve our problems. However, are there any netplay-exclusive players at all who could technically fit into the "know what's he's talking about." category? (Zidane comes up with some form of genius every 15 minutes it seems)
  6. I remember. Although I recall you were trying to argue that it was a decent DP, which it obviously isn't. Some people thought it was useless though. Eventually we came to the consensus that it was a bad move, but a necessary one.
  7. Negative badges only serve to tell people that they aren't wanted here. It would be quite redundant.
  8. I personally don't like badges being used as a reward system, but I do like them used as a method to determine who knows their stuff. As such, IMO, the whole process needs to be extremely limited.
  9. I'll have to agree that any recognition should not be used as a reward but as an indicator of someone who knows what they're talking about. That way, there really is no incentive to get recognized. It's just what happens to people who are qualified. Like shtkn said, it's a good priority to actually figure out who to trust. One more thing we need to think about is the selectivity of this system. We want to give them to people who have fairly controllable personalities. I don't want shit getting fueled because someone "pulled rank" on someone else.. Unless, of course, that someone else was an idiot and the majority is agreeing with the contributor.
  10. Yeah, let's get to the conclusion. Meanwhile staying at least three house probations away from Papa Juice, cause I think he's one of dem "funny uncles."
  11. I second the notion that a rep system is a bad idea, as it sometimes puts more focus on the system than is necessary. I've seen in a couple cases the situation go so bad that more people were banned from karma system abuses than actual abuses.
  12. This sounds good, if somewhat lenient IMO. It would take someone extremely dense to not get the hint five times in a row. Unless of course you hand out multiple infractions...
  13. We all know Circ is a hypocrite. This is not news to me.
  14. Do you know the material of the keychain if they really decide to make one of these? It's kinda shiny, but I'm not sure if it's too much so. Also, can you please mail me one?
  15. This one was kinda creepy, but not nearly as bad as I feared. Mainly cause the artist did a really crappy job on the face.

  16. Either that, or they're all spies and I can't see em.
  17. Your smartasses hide in trapdoors and hidden rooms in wine cellars?
  18. Don't worry. I'm aware enough to figure out who the smartasses are in this place.
  19. Bang players having trouble with basic math. Just what I needed to see.
  20. Uhh.. Ya sure you're thinking straight today?
  21. *sigh* I'm gonna say this now. Let's see if we can ignore this so that it won't turn into a three page long argument.
  22. Only in Brawl, the maps actually affect gameplay.. In this, it doesn't, but the training stage is more confusing due to the lack of easily identifiable landmarks in the background. I see absolutely no correlation whatsoever..
