  1. its not really calling you out and most of the "wall" is just me trying to help the new guy :1 point is a lot of the boringness just comes from the players(early play, "conservative" defense/offense especially since her pressure is so repeatable) and her set of tools isnt more bland than other charas(similar size and bases on movement etc), so i think people are just being premature/silly. seeing bullet players in neutral vs some charas in particular is very interesting. With the j.d thing i meant more of j.d beating anti airs due to not being head property(right?), not so much evading AAs itself, although delaying her air momentum helps can 2c be cancelled into D? (Edit: nevermind, watched footage again and noticed it can, so that is useful when in heat up i suppose) does special cancelling it into 236a frametrap?(assuming you can) how would reversals make 5c useless? i mean, 5c doesnt seem reactable. that'd have to be a guess, and 2b seems decent on block so stopping on it wouldnt be too big of a deal(or jumping forward and barrier blocking initially) not that different than reversaling between other frametrap chains, it is just this chain for her leads to more pressure. you just are going to want to expect DPs more often because of that. "the risk isnt plain worth it" could be said for tons of chains but people use them anyway.(especially mixed with airtight lows to punish dp buffering) the risk of a dragon punch being punished is higher than its reward anyway.(except for some supers of course) does 3c go under any reversals, and how is it on block? i noticed it can be special cancelled on hit, can it be cancelled on block into D or specials?
  2. Hello! Glad to see a bridget player. We're going to have a meetup next saturday(the 5th) probably in north dallas(jet or sunfish will probably host) probably from 3pm to midnight. You'd definitely get to play some good GG/BB matches then! Where are you, exactly? If youre close enough to some people you could drop by for some matches on weekdays. Will you need a ride?

  4. responded in pm~ what do you mean by "izayoi is too strong" also people wont know if theyll actually play her or not until they actually get to try her instead of just watching videos, lol to be short: stop being fucking silly more detailed: 1)early play of new characters is often simple, especially in situations where you need to win to keep playing which can discourage trying fancy shit constantly when you have stuff that works 2)a character having very effective and repeatable pressure isnt the same as being boring to play or any other accusations. her neutral seems mostly based around movement, 2b, fireball, figuring out where to heat up, her great abare off of air to airs, interesting use of D, and probably using 3c's low profile depending on the matchup. i dont see that as worse than most of the other charas in this game or most fighting games. her pressure is simply fantastic due to 5c being +, heat up Ds being +, d feints, jump cancel into j.c being terrifying and more legit than most other jump cancels in pressure(especially since D can be useful in beating AAs), and her safejump setups/d beating rolls/fireball setups make her oki pretty solid. it is not as fancy as certain litchi/rachel/tao stuff but..so what? i think some people are just tired of seeing players at fucking up at getting out of pressure or getting eventually opened up by overheads, but whatever. we're still seeing fucking early play of her and certainly not comprehensive play of her. you'll probably end up seeing some more crossups and TRMing and some adaptations to her pressure by defenders once people IB her stuff better, backdash more perhaps, or whatever, but it is still going to be 2D fighter pressure. pressure only gets so complicated, especially when a lot of players fall back on certain habits very heavily. i dont really see why it would be more boring than jin/ragna/haku/bang/noel/platinum/makoto/mu/other pressure, it is only more solid. which makes me wonder how bullet pressure actually is in some aspects. how good is air D at beating AAs? is 2b 5c airtight, can it get backdashed? how + is 5c? is 2c good at beating players mashing backdash when they block 2b or whatever? Are you sure? Her fireball seems to go farther and such in heat up.
  5. i guess no meetup this weekend since jet/sunfish cant host(out of town or at ikkicon or other tsuff) and id only host for 3-5 hours but if eric or someone wants to drop by my apartment for a few hours and play some saturday or sunday that could be pretty cool, any takers? i guess sunday would be better since people are going to a movie saturday
  6. have some fuckin sugoi holidays, everyone~ sup! we mostly play gg/bb/p4 altho we're starting to have mk9, daemon bride and possibly soon sc5 routinely. you can either check the thread like every thursday for updates or if you give me your number i can text you 1-2 times a week to give you a heads up once i know what's going.
  7. This game seems quite cool. I really like most of the movesets and it is generally an interesting mix of more traditional fighters and anime.(Good walkspeed, good "anime" projectiles, can only airblock specials and air normals, pretty flexible chains with large cancel windows, normals seem more kof/sf to me although not completely, etc) Going to have trouble getting a scene going for it though due to asia PSN only so far..hopefully it gets on US PSN.

  10. is Valkyrie Astraea + on block? "fast recovery"... it is tough to gauge *exactly* with frame-by-frame video stuff because the framerate on a lot of these videos is fucky(not simply "30fps alright now double what you count") but stance cancel looks like around 22f-ish cancel(total, including the slash startup. seems similar to amane spiral charge cancels and bullet d feints...). the slash itself for at least low slash is around 16f. with those numbers it seems like a good cancel since they have to guess(especially since slashes are chargeable), and since it seems those counterhits are rewarding they will be scared of questioning you regarding "somewhat close to neutral" technically you are always going to be quite -(unlike, say, holy order sol charge cancels) unless she has some normal with over 18f of blockstun(rare) but it doesnt matter that much because it is a decent, rewarding guess anyway(especially since ending in a slash still leaves you the option of the 6d cancel if you have stocks! pretty rekka strike/strike mixup esque at that point!)
  11. Are you sure about that? I was looking for that sort of thing recently and I saw her cancel dash into 2a as well as barrier.(the latter makes me wonder if theres any barrierdash potential)
  12. i dont like most of litchi's new colors, i want bbct/cs colors :x also, i take it that litchi can't cancel into itsuu on block from anything even though it isnt + anymore? i guess they would have to make that a late cancel or a block cancel only since they dont want you comboing into it via chains litchis dont seem to be using kanchan at all anymore outside of combos. lol new moves only good for combo meat? if they're used to reacting to 4d then i guess sometimes 6a[m] is useful to surprise them a bit especially when you have meter to rapid otherwise i guess there's gimmicks like mashing 6a over and over from a range for ghetto full screen pokes, lol

  18. awesome scottie/kurumster, ill round up more confirmations in a week or two and bother them to have goddamn guilty gear because I think we can easily get more than 10 people which is their requirement for mk/kof. except the last two pages confirm that we're having a meetup at jet's this saturday at 3pm-midnight so i dont know what you are talking about, we dont even use social media for this stuff really. also cookie and pfhor are always told so you can always just ask them are you sure nobody can give you a ride from denton to jet's?

  21. Is there a nice summary anywhere of all the differences between her two modes? 3c combos, 66 cancels in Nu, saw oki(?) and more projectile durability on D in lambda... Doesnt nu also get to use gravity field more?

In heat-up j.d seems to be often + on block so this could be a nice core of her mixup. Although relatively low damage, it would be repeatable and easy access so it will make them eat more seriously damaging things occasionally when the try to jump out or whatever. should probably rely on TRM more though
