being on 360 does ultimately mean that more players can use their ideal controllers since you can have ps3 pad players on it as well as 360 pad players, while there's no way for 360 pad players to play on ps3 afaik. that seems more significant of an advantage than any other advantage to using either console definitely gonna talk with sunfish etc about getting some people down to austin next weekend, especially since some of ya'll are coming this weekend :3

learning stick isnt hard, only took me like 2-4 weeks. that's adaptation, not risking not being able to play on something you dont know how to play on while hoping people like you are rare enough in number that ill have a converter for you to borrow. i dont like being taken for granted.

sym the reason i responded like that is because you went on about the resurgence of the scene being prevented by not having good netcode. the scene will only resurge with offline, which can be helped by those coming from online, but only so much. i am sorry if i appeared super snarky or something. my stupid avatar probably didnt help. i really dont think netcode quality means very much to whether or not a scene blows up, theres very little correlation between good/bad netcode and scene success and failure as far as i can see. the problem is when a bunch of people in an area dismiss a game because its online isnt good enough instead of trying to figure out who else might be in an area and playing offline with them. people need to focus on how to cultivate that sort of thing instead of this sort of online-first attitude. good online is a great thing but only means so much and should not define *most* players' approach to a game as it seems to, especially when they live in a city of millions of people again, online of course can be extremely useful but imo people should really put more effort into trying to find/fuel/start offline scenes. obviously if you live in a town with a population of like 5000 that is basically hopeless and you can be as obsessed with the netcode as the defining attribute of a game as youd like

netplay only matters as far as stimulus goes what really matters is people actually playing offline/getting other people to play with them/finding other people who are interested but unaware of what goes on in their area or the potential size of their local scene as opposed to sitting around wishing the netcode was better(Here's a hint: netcode will never compare to offline play let alone being at a meetup. ever)
