Online can be good. When playing with two local people I had 3 bars with, it was eh, not unplayable but not great. Another guy I had 3 bars with was fantastic, though. And playing 4 bar guy was pretty great. I think with a netcode patch I could play this decently regularly. It recognizes my converters that let me play my ps3 hrap on my 360... wah wah wah poor babby as if you couldnt figure this out from watching footage from XIII for, you know, the last year and a half

MY BODY IS READY FOR KOF13, should arrive soon today, i'll have both 360 and ps3 versions. if someone wants to play me online, just tell me, ill haev tons of time today and tomorrow and maybe thursday. For those not particularly familiar with the game, this is a great rundown: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r75Lz1Drp8g So, yeah, that does a great job at explaining how shorthops and rolls work with the game. Another thing you should be aware of is basic comboability. In early rounds, you dont have any meter so combos are generally normal->command normal->special, or crouching light kick->crouching light punch->special, or whatever other chains your character has. Eventually you have more meter and you can do stuff like EX special into some sort of link, and there are some meterless corner loops. I'm sure most of you have seen those crazy videos with 100% combos which use 5 bars and hyperdrive. Those are useful, but you can get 50% combos out of just 1 bar and 1 drive cancel, so you dont have to do the crazy stuff, you can do smaller, efficient combos. EX moves are of course useful as well, so saving up your meter too much can hurt your options. Here's how meter normally works, btw: You have your super meter and your hyperdrive meter. (Bars=super meter, stocks=hyperdrive) EX moves and supers cost 1 bar each. Supers usually dont have invuln. Dont think of normals supers like supers in BB/GG in terms of invincibility, they usually dont have much. EX supers usually do, though. Those cost 2 bars. Neomaxes cost 3 bars and do an assload of damage. Drive cancelling lets you cancel specials into other specials on hit. It costs half the hyperdrive bar. So you can do like kensou's DPkick and cancel into his dive and do another DP. You can enter hyperdrive mode by hitting Light kick+Heavy punch. This lets you cancel specials into others for a period of time, even on block. Hyperdrive mode also makes all normals special cancellable as well. Also, you can cancel normals into hyperdrive mode, which makes your character dash. So you can do a ranged poke that normally doesnt combo, hit BC, and then do close range attacks into a large combo. good meetup, only had metal/darkgeese/eric but it was good no shoutouts this time, mostly played kof2002um, but got in more really good litchi vs carl with eric did pretty well with kof2002um vs darkgeese for a while but he switched to a large variety of characters and i got blown up especially by his zoners and also goddd pressure from nameless and others. was good experience though, hype for kofxiii, will be much less scrubby in that hopefully had some fun light matches with metal in bb after eric/dg left i had to use a fucking american bat stick for kof2002um though rofl, only ps2 stick they had but it wasnt too terrible. buttons were weird too though still, good meetup. really hype for next week. dg will come saturday then. DAT KOF13
