  1. Definitely able to host this weekend!!! Will text tomorrow. I want input about whether I should host friday or saturday! (the other day i will do homework) either day would be 3pm to approximately 10pm. i should do fine on my midterms this week.

"Total of 45 Gems When You Pre-Order" lol, they'll probably either cost money or take significant time to unlock, then. gross also apparently 2 of the 3 effects confirmed so far are auto blocking and auto-teching throws the way they're activated is fucking weird too, like chaining a few normals so that your next SRK does more damage. is that how autoblocking is going to be activated? whatever. i seriously doubt capcom wont fuck this up supremely. the thing with if you charge an EX special and then dash cancel it your next attack will automatically be a counter hit is kind of cool, though. still way too worried about wtf capcom is doing to get hype, though.

  17. good is relative to who you fight i am done with you. i really enjoy teaching people things and playing along with arguments but this was just boring especially since i got to say like nothing interesting in lighter news, i still have that new recent batch of litchi bbcse footage to watch~
  18. there are always matches in any fighter where someone wins by being successful in midscreen repeatedly and of course people will always learn corner combos because they're useful, that's the definition of being competitive. getting more and more out of everything. Burst baiting is always going to be important in situations like this. This is why burst-proof combos are useful, keeping your nerve and not bursting at a bad time is a useful skill, etc. I dont know what to tell you. Um..hitting something is the challenging part. In fact, that's 80% of fighting games. It's not just about who has the bigger combo. Learning how to win in neutral is pretty much fighting games. I mean, yeah, you could sit down and go "Oh, fighting games are just about hitting them once and then hitting them more thanks to frame advantage." That's sort of a useless spin. That's like "So in chess you just want me to take a bunch of their pieces and get a huge positional advantage and then rape them repeatedly? That's it?" as if getting to that sort of position was mere scenery. It's not like after you hit them once, you're guaranteed to get another hit. Without fuzzy guard, maybe weird setups off daisharin, instant overheads on tall characters, and maybe something else major I forget, there's not much mixup litchi has that is unreactable. Is her pressure flexible as hell? God yes. But someone who can block overheads, tech throws and knows a few things about her pressure can get out. And you can't autopilot neutral or pressure strings, or they'll figure you out and blow you up. Fighting games dont just turn into training mode once okizemi starts. i dont know why im bothering to tell someone in a character specific thread that fighting games aren't just combos into oki where they "inevitably" get hit, let alone making like 3 paragraphs, but whatever
  19. most players will bitch about any character that isn't their own because most people are stupid for most characters in fighting games? yes i dont understand what you're saying/implying. are you saying that characters who dont have especially good corner combos or corner push are going to be bad? or are you saying that you cant win if you dont get them in the corner? or are you saying that players have to learn corner combos because they're so useful?
  20. 1)dont ever listen to stream monsters. trolls and idiots dominate them. 2) It is almost impossible to not have a midscreen game. Characters do not magically appear in the corner by themselves. Being in the corner means you either: 1)Backed yourself into it in neutral. The corner is scary so that backwards movement cant go on forever and has serious consequences. It is a major part of the neutral game in every fighter. 2)Got pushed into it by a combo. This is a factor of character strengths and combos. Some characters dont push to corner particularly much, some push there very fast. Its one of the ways that combos arent just about damage, execution and style. Some hits lead to more corner push than others, and some characters/combos can choose to push more in exchange for something else. 3)CS2 litchi has a better, more fun set of tools for neutral and pressure.(except for 1-2 things) It is pretty much impossible for her to be worse than CT litchi except by way of combos(i wouldnt know regarding ct litchi combos), and combos are only a fraction of the game. Part of the issue is probably that there are people who say CT is a better game, especially on srk, but those people are just fucking nuts, blinded by nostalgia(OHH NEW GAME), or tunnelvision as shit(certain hakumen players). That's pretty much all there is to it.
  21. Yeah, but IIRC it was said that only "a few" still had them. I feel like guile+ryu+lili+zangief+heihachi+ibuki+etc is a pretty diverse group to all have them.

  24. I liked the CS1->CS2 changes because even though comboability was nerfed, she got buffs in neutral/pressure, so she ended up being more fun. Its not really like that in CSE. I dont give a shit about being "in every portion" of the tier list, if i wanted to experience that i'd play a different character. She could get better, but with proration nerfs and no new combo tools I doubt it. She'll still be viable and everything, but argh if she's lower than terrible character designs like ragna. nerfing the coolest super ever made still makes me salty as fuck
