Good games man. Yea, you still got quite a bit of work to do, but it was fun getting back on that game anyway. Make sure you watch our replays, they might help you pick something up. Watching you and my friend play was tons of fun though. He has his own copy and 360 and all that, he just doesn't get on very often. I'll maybe try to get him to, seeing as he wants to get back into that game as well. Haha oh man, I forgot this thread existed. I'm not sure how good I am currently, since I haven't played for so long, but I was pretty decent at this game when I played it. If any of you guys newer to this thread want to add me, feel free. I feel as though I've always been one of the most active english-speaking players and due to that, I'm really not half bad. Back in the day I was competing with the top JP players and could hold my own pretty well(Honestly not trying to boast or anything here). I'm no Kimera Cryin, but we've had some fun matches(including some I've won ;D). I'm pretty busy with school right now, but if I'm on, then I'm totally down for some games if any of you want to add me.

That is strange, but so is this entire PSR system. I wonder, if I played just 1 ranked match against a noob and won with Labrys(gaining +0PSR), if I would be placed back on the leaderboard at 729 Labry at like 10th place lol.

OK, I looked around for quite a while and I didn't see any threads up talking about PSR whatsoever, so I'm making one here and now. Of course a Mod can move/close/delete this if it's in the wrong place, bad topic, etc. Basically, I was wondering if anyone has figured out anything about how PSR works. I talked with Bootowski over XBL about it, but maybe someone else here has something to contribute. His thoughts were that; From match 1 to 100, you gain between 5-9 PSR per win, then after that you only gain 1-2(maybe 3) if you beat someone of the same rank. You've got to beat lower ranks 1 - 3 times to gain +1 PSR though. Of course if you lose to anyone that's not above your PSR by at least about 200, then you'll always -1 every time you lose. My Gripes Holy shit, is it just me or is this PSR system BAD? Aside from the fact that it may be abusable by ranking yourself down with someone you don't play, so that you can gain more psr with someone you do, it just makes me not even want to play ranked. I started this game as most would, by playing my main(Yosuke). After I beat his challenges and felt comfortable with his play, I got online and did some ranked. Now of course I wasn't that great and ended up only winning probably 65% of my matches, but I didn't know my PSR would cut off so drastically. Long story short, I ended up playing until it started going up in 1's(at about 672). Then I picked up Labrys and did the same with her. Now that I was more familiar with the game and was having a generally easier time beating people with her, my PSR with her stopped at 727. In the grand scheme of things, it doesn't really matter that my main isn't my highest PSR; However it bothers me, because I feel now that my Yosuke should be higher, and only isn't because I was more of a scrub when I started out. More importantly though, now I don't even really feel like playing anyone who challenges me below my rank, because the balance of what I have to gain/lose is so negative. Does anybody feel this way, or should I just keep my mouth shut and stay in player match? (Sorry it was kind of long, I ended up having more to say than I thought) TL;DR: I dislike this PSR system and am confused upon how it even works. oh fun sidenote, if I go to the leaderboards and look for my spot in Labrys PSR, it doesn't even show up. Weird.

I actually saw this already in the gliding thread haha. Ah well maybe someday I'll see what's good about it. I guess you make a good point about the fact that he's behind Jiraiya a bit, that was the only perk I was really ever using it for.

Can anyone give me a video of reference maybe? I've seen quite a few Yosuke matches in the Video thread but maybe I've never seen anyone use hit J.C effectively.

What combos are good to do off of a J.C hit? I just can't really think of a single situation where I'd rather use J.C instead of J.A or J.B, and stuff like "You just have to know when and how to use it" is basically just stating my question.

Mmm can someone tell me what is so great about J.C? I don't seem to get the same results as everyone else. I'm using it as a jump-in and cross-up but it seems slow and easily anti-aired to me. Plus like it's been said, it doesn't hit high. I certainly don't spam it; if anything I don't use it enough. I just get much better results with J.B so I practically forget J.C exists.

Fenrir I've got a message I was hoping you could translate. I've sent you messages on xbl to try to get your attention but you've not replied once so I guess here would be my best bet. What's your e-mail so I can send it to you? It's not too long but it's got quite a few kanji in it that I don't even begin to recognize.

Does anybody have any advice on this one? By far my worse mu. From my perspective and experience playing her, she is unfuckingbelievably good. Maybe I'm just doing something wrong..Sad to see all these matchup threads so dead.

As far as I know, the good ones spam J.B till they get in on you and destroy you. Running up and 2Bing isn't working reliably for me but I really wish I could hear kurushiis advice on this matchup.

Also you can R-Action it. The trouble I have with kanji mu is the traditional guessing game of what to do when he has oki on you. Try to jump out and get hit, Short hop his grab, or R-action. Uhg I really really hate Kanji's R-Action though, if you block and then instantly try to 2c it WILL hit your persona regardless. How stupid is that..

Haha I bascially burn it in all the ways you all mentioned put together. 1. Obviously to end a match, but also to end a round if it's very close. 2. If I Have red axe and I can put some real fear into them by doing an easy 6000 damage or something combo. 3. I really enjoy using it on characters like Yosuke, Liz, Naoto, just to destroy a huge chunk of health. 4. I definitely use it to finish off characters before they go into awakening, or at least do as much damage into awakening as possible. 5. I'll use it if I feel like I won't be able to keep the red axe vs certain characters. It's important to remember that your axe will recover to level 3 on it's own without even having to attack/whiff. Also that your axe will never drop below level 3 without using Moujuu-D or Brutal Impact-B. And just to make sure everyone is aware, whiffing theoretically can get you to red axe. I remember someone mistakingly saying somewhere that it only gets you to level 3 but it is possible. It takes a long time and is 1000% impractical but whiffing can save your red axe so it may be worth knowing. Edit: Woo, just achieved S rank ^^

Man sometimes Labrys is really discouraging to play online. I've all but given up on consistantly landing 236236D after j.214B. Every time you fuck up its 50 meter waste, all of your axe guage, and a free fatal counter. Holy shit, that's what I call a punishment for messing up. Any advice? I'm seriously weighing all-out not even trying to do it anymore.

Man I really wish there was an Axe Gauge.. Also wish there was on option to leave an axe at a fixed level, yet have it still level up during combos...jeez. Anyway can I ask what techniques you guys use to do combos that involve holding down a tsurugi for a set period of time? Like for Labrys' challenge 29 [Corner] 5B(2) > 22A > 5A > 2B > (sword hit) > BI > etc. I remember someone saying something about rolling it but I didn't understand what they meant.

Wait.. it absolutely must be before the patch, I do the exact same combos with lesser damage. Hell his grab alone does 505 now where in the video it does 810.. Am I missing something?
